A rollicking pajama party with familiar friends!

by Gioia66 on 7/17/09Town Hall - New York

The show had a very intimate feel, and the band talked and joked with the audience as if we all were old friends. The mixture of old and new songs, "bedtime reading," including a postcard containing lyrics to the song "Moon, Moon, Moon" all presented the appropriate touches for carrying the sentiment from the band to the child's home and bedtime routine. For the adults, the band threw in a soulful rendition of the James Brown classic "I Feel Good." The band's interaction and sing-alongs with the audience were excellent! The Laurie Berkner Band plays and sings well, and they make sure that they're presenting a high-quality show! On the day that my family attended, a number of concertgoers from the upper balcony (adults and children) took some liberties by coming down to the balcony rail to stand, dance, and jump -- blocking those who remained at their seats, crowding the aisles, and putting the security personnel to the test. It was handled well, but it recurred several times. My advice for future concerts (because the personalities within crowds are unpredictable) is to say that dancing is welcome, but please remain at your seats (in your rows) and, for a safe and enjoyable show for all, please do not go down to the rails. "Dancing in the aisles" was misinterpreted by some fans as "do whatever you want." Live and learn. We did not hold that against the band, or against the managers of Town Hall. Overall, it was a great show and my daughter still talks about it.

    Laurie Berkner Rocks!

by Momofa5yrold on 7/17/09Town Hall - New York

My daughter, husband and I had a great time at the PJ show last month. The music is fantastic! Town Hall is an excellent venue, just the right size for the kids to be able to get up and dance in the aisles. The length of the show was perfect. I highly recommend this concert.

So fabulous.... Love this group...especially Laurie. Musicality of it all is so special. I love that my kids know about instruments and singing in a Band. Especially that a woman can be such a strong front headliner!

    We love Laurie!

by cmarie1345 on 7/16/09Town Hall - New York

The concert was great. Laurie and her gang were filled with tons of energy that made even the parents get up and dance. Children of all ages were dancing around their seats. Laurie is to kids what the Beatles or Michael Jackson is for adults.

    Laurie rocks a child's world!

by VIC666 on 7/16/09Town Hall - New York

Laurie added to the children's enjoyment of her music by turning it into a pajama party and a fundraiser for those less fortunate! We were thrilled the tickets were also affordable!

Kids loved it. Acoustics not great in balcony of Town Hall in NYC so it was difficult to hear the performers when they spoke to the audience. PJ theme was a lot of fun!

Laurie had a pig on her head!

by MammaChrissy on 7/16/09Town Hall - New York

The kids had a blast. There was not much space for dancing around, but the kids made the best of it. Nanna, Nonna and my husband and I loved it as well. They played many of the favorites, including those songs heard on Noggin. We did not like the new Thunder song, it was kind of scary. I have recommended it to all my friends.

    Simply perfect

by LJJC on 7/16/09Town Hall - New York

Laurie Berkner and her band are simply magical. It's hard NOT to sing the songs, (even when the kids aren't around). Their band introduces children to a wonderful variety of instruments and their sounds and the lyrics are uplifting and help the build confidence and musical appreciation for children! Keep up the good work Laurie, Adam, Suzie and Bob :)
