About
LA Galaxy History
The LA Galaxy have been playing since Major League Soccer launched in 1996. After topping the Western Conference in the league’s inaugural season, the Galaxy led the conference twice more before they clinched their first MLS Cup in 2002 against the New England Revolution. History would repeat itself in 2005, when they emerged victorious over the Revolution for their second MLS Cup.
From 2007 to 2012, British football legend David Beckham joined the Galaxy, and in short order, pushed the club to two MLS Cup victories, in 2011 and 2012. Even after Beckham's departure, the Galaxy continued to shine. After winning the Cup over the Revolution again in 2014, the Galaxy became the first team in the league to nab the championship five times. The Galaxy furthered their league championship record with a sixth MLS Cup win in 2024. Overall, the LA Galaxy have earned four Supporters’ Shields, two U.S. Open Cup titles and the 2000 CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Among the Galaxy’s alumni are three MLS MVP winners: Carlos Ruiz (2002), Landon Donovan (2009) and Robbie Keane (2014). In 2015, the award was renamed the Landon Donovan MVP Award to honor the decorated All-Star midfielder’s career. Donovan also earned the Golden Boot as the league’s leading scorer in 2008.
In 2023, the Galaxy helped set the MLS single match attendance record at 82,110 in an annual "El Tráfico" rivalry match against Los Angeles FC at the Rose Bowl on July 4.

stadium parking was horrible
by soccerfan122345 on 7/26/14Rose Bowl - PasadenaRating: 1 out of 5I've been to many sporting events at stadiums all over southern California. The Rose Bowl is the worst stadium I have been to. The seats where cramped. Parking is $30. There are loads of people there helping you park on the golf course. Yes, the stadium uses a golf course for parking. But when it's time to leave there was a single employee to be found in the lot. It took my an hour and a half to finally drive off of the grass.
Cramped seating, poorly conceptualized
by RaoulF1 on 7/26/14Rose Bowl - PasadenaRating: 1 out of 5I purchased a $300 "VIP" ticket to get field level access to the Manchester United training session. Unfortunately, we were seated in the stands like all others who paid only $20. We were briefly allowed on the field towards the end for autographs, but not allowed to take photos. I've been to similar events before (such as when Man United visited Kansas City) and we could take all the SLR pics we wanted. Horribly organized event, and definitely a rip off for $300 a pop. The LA Galaxy people who organized this need to take heed.
not worth the money
by Soccerfan12345 on 7/26/14Rose Bowl - PasadenaRating: 3 out of 5While the atmosphere was pretty good, the crowd was determined to have fun, the game was less than memorable. The L.A. Galaxy looked intimidated at the start, pathetic and out classed by halftime. I have been to several Galaxy games at the Stub-Hub this year and this game at the Rose Bowl was by far their worst showing. Manchester United played a good game but they had nothing to challenge them. As a result, while a solid performance, not exciting or inspiring with the possible exception of Danny Wellbeck's 1st goal. The Rose Bowl did a fine job with all the periferies of the event like parking, staff and the like. Although $6 for a 12oz coke or a bottle of water is beyond gouging. Make sure you've had plenty to eat and drink before you go in or you could drop a $100 on food that you wouldn't normally pay $20 for.
manchester united

Manchester United did NOT dissapoint!!
by rtbonin on 7/26/14Rose Bowl - PasadenaRating: 5 out of 5Incredible atmosphere from before the game, until beyond the matches completion. An incredible experience that I got to share with my family and friends.
Great fun to see MUFC
by Cardiffkp on 7/26/14Rose Bowl - PasadenaRating: 4 out of 5MUFC was great fun. Hope it won't be my last time seeing them live, but definitely wouldn't deal with the annoyance of going to the Rose Bowl again. So many problems with the venue. It was beautiful inside the stadium, but hideous traffic getting there, shuttle fare of $5 per person not advised anywhere (should have parked at the stadium instead of paying $50 total for parking at Parsons and shuttle) low quality and unhealthy food at the event, ridiculously long line to get on return shuttle with serious lack of organization- took an hour to get to our car, and more standstill traffic on the way home. Not all issues with Rose Bowl itself, but made for an exhausting adventure. I will try to just remember how amazing it was to be in a sea of red jerseys, hearing the crowds chant "glory, glory, man united" as they scored goal after goal!
What a horrible experience! Never again rose bowl!
by Roborta on 7/26/14Rose Bowl - PasadenaRating: 1 out of 5I am sad to say but I had a horrible experience. I have never had such a bad time at a sporting event and I'm an avid sports fan who loves th bruins and galaxy. I spent about $220 for 2 tix for myself and my dad. It was a fathers day present from my sister and I but me being the huge soccer fan like him I elected to take him. We sat in ridiculous traffic just outside the rose bowl from 7:15 to 9:00 and payed a ridiculous $30 for parking when we were stuck in traffic just feet away from the match than being parked. Then We missed the whole 1st half and did not get to our seats till the 70' of the match and we parked so far that is was literally a mile each way. Yeah rose bowl thanks for the wonderful experience, a waste of my hard earned $ and time. Congratulations you succeeded in making me not EVER want to come back to the rose bowl again. Thanks and have a wonderful day!
Good times!
by NellyVillafana on 7/26/14Rose Bowl - PasadenaRating: 5 out of 5Event was a lot of fun! Crowd was really into it which made it even better! Only thing that kinda sucked was the parking situation but other than that, I would definately recommend this event.

Bought my ticket online and picked it up at will call. Easy process
Wasn't worth it
by NessaP on 7/26/14Rose Bowl - PasadenaRating: 2 out of 5This event wasn't worth it on so many levels. For starters, the only one team played their best players which made for a very boring game. I get it was a friendly, but people paid money for a decent game. My problem with the stadium is that the seats are so small and close together! Hardly any leg room between rows and between you and the people next to you. Lastly, getting out of the parking lot was a joke. We parked on the golf course. Getting in was great, there were so many employees directing us. On the way out there was no one helping or directing traffic. All those cars were driving which ever way to try to find the exit while people walked between them. The only reason I gave a few stars was because I finally saw a team that I'd been wanting to see.
Very disappointing overall experience
by SoccerJan on 7/26/14Rose Bowl - PasadenaRating: 1 out of 5The game started 35 minutes later than it was supposed. Rosebowl parking is terrible and at $30-40 per spot is ridiculously overpriced. Drinks selection is terrible and depending on the current sponsor...Budweiser light and nothing else for $13 a cup is so prohibitively stupid. Lines for food and bathroom at half time were crazy long. This stadium is not built for soccer. And finally the most important. The play level was exhibition, not much intensity, subbing almost the whole team at half time. This type of level of a match does not merit such pricing...it looked like a scrimmage. At this price it was awful.

I live 5 miles away from stadium worst parking at any stadium I've been to. Did not get into event until more than 3/4 of the way through. Lines we're ridicules to get anything in stadium. Staff gives no clear direction.
Parking was a disaster!
by HRKH on 7/26/14Rose Bowl - PasadenaRating: 2 out of 5Traffic and parking was horrible! LA Galaxy's play was disappointing!
Manchester United put a good performance
by egutierrez6745 on 7/26/14Rose Bowl - PasadenaRating: 5 out of 5My first time ever to see Manchester United and it was a very good experience. There was so many fans the stadium was full. Many people cheering I am never forget that day. Now to see them play against AS ROMA in Denver, Colorado
Poor interactive seating map
by Macky01111 on 7/26/14Rose Bowl - PasadenaRating: 3 out of 5Poor interactive map meant being a first time buyer, I had no idea where I would be sat. So I tried to figure it out and bought more expensive tickets... Only to find out they just put me more centrally to the field, yet 3 rows from the back. Apart from the nosebleeds I suffered due to altitude sickness (jk of course) I was satisfied with the event. However I would of purchased better tickets if the nap would of been more clear on what seats I was considering purchasing.
Traffic jam
by Zee100 on 7/26/14Rose Bowl - PasadenaRating: 3 out of 5I missed the first half of the game even though i was two miles away at 7:30 and i didnt get to the stadium until 9:20 :(.. LA traffic sucks

MLS - growing! Soccer - spontaneous and exciting!
by twinpeaks on 12/1/11The Home Depot Center - CarsonRating: 5 out of 5MLS is growing and growing - the Galaxy are the state's premiere league team that is now traveling the world and playing friendlies. Nothing like seeing Landon Donavan , Sean Franklin, Omar Gonzalez live and right in front of you. The Home Depot Center is great - comfortable and clean. highly recommended - go see LA Galaxy LIVE!.
