Kris Kristofferson on Tour
When Kris Kristofferson hits the stage, it's clear why he's become a legend of outlaw country. He plays it like he feels it — as an unfancy, master singer-songwriter, sometimes with a band and sometimes without, strumming his acoustic guitar and delivering his game-changing songs with well-weathered style. His character-rich voice lets you know he's been around the block more than once, and the songs combine a poet's command of language with a country singer's knack for putting things together organically so they go down easy. Along the way, he slips in his one-of-a-kind perspective on things. He might be unpacking the wistful romanticism of "Me and Bobby McGee" or depicting the morning-after madness of "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down," but he always makes you see the world a bit differently.
Kris Kristofferson in Concert
After Kris Kristofferson first started making waves in Nashville in the late '60s, country music (and American music) was forever changed. Singer-songwriters had never written so frankly about sensuality, and country had never had its own Bob Dylan before. With Kristofferson came a glorious collision of poetry-laden lyrics and countercultural sensibilities with the attitude of rock 'n' roll and the template of classic country. Besides making waves with his own albums, he reached into our collective conscience through his songs' numerous covers, performed by artists like Janis Joplin ("Me and Bobby McGee") and Sammi Smith ("Help Me Make It Through the Night"). Before the '70s were over, his natural charisma and chiseled countenance had helped make him a movie star too, with films like Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore and A Star Is Born. Later he became a member of legendary supergroup The Highwaymen, alongside Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. As the decades passed, Kristofferson has never backed away from his commitment to write and perform to the utmost of his abilities. He's a true-blue American legend.

Kris does not and never had a great range, but for an 84 year old he had the pipes and sang his heart out. Great Show
If you're strictly interested in the music, this is a good show. Appreciated the on time start. Lots of great old songs, but no personal conversation in between. Would have been interesting to hear a little of what went into the writing or recording of the music.
At 82 years old, I didn’t expect a lot, but I was overwhelmed by Kris’ performance. He sang all his signature songs, remembered all the words, and you could understand all the words. His performance took me back in time. He was fabulous!
We loved seeing him and hearing his songs that brought back so many memories. Memories of those no longer with us so there were some tears and strong emotions. Thank you for coming to Wilkes Barre and giving us this opportunity. God bless!!!
Have seen Kris before. This show added the Strangers with Merle Haggard's son which added a much ppreciated element to the overall experience. Kris was annimated and appeared to be enjoying performing.
I am 71 years old and never had the opportunity to see Kris Kristofferson perform live. My husband and I loved his songs from the beginning. His concert was absolutely wonderful! Kris and the Strangers sounded great! They sang song after great song with a 15 minute break. I highly recommend catching one of their concerts!
Fantastic show! And how a concert should be! No flare. All songs, little speaking. He did 24 songs with one 15 minute intermission - outstanding !!
He gave a good performance and the venue is nice. I don't believe there is a bad seat in the house
KRIS IS AMAZING. VENUE WAS GREAT WELL ORGANIZE. 40 minutes playing 15 minute break 40 more minutes! My 3rd time seeing him!!! BRING HIM BACK! Xoxox
I enjoyed it immensely! The music was just loud enough to be enjoyed...not overpowering like the Tommy James concert. The fact that you could understand every word sung was immeasurable. Very pleased! Have become a Kirby member. :)
I have always loved Kris Kristofferson. Saw him at the Sands last year and was excited to see him with Merle Haggard's band. They were an added bonus to the evening as I have loved him and his music forever as well. Another bonus was Merle's son in the band and the other members, singing his songs. So all in all....great evening! I would go see Kris again if he comes back to the area.
No chit-chat just continuous great music. Kris still loves to perform his poetry and it’s such a pleasure to hear him do it.
It was wonderful to hear real country music and seeing this icon
Enjoyed the show very much. The Strangers were a wonderful surprise. I think they (inc. Kris) should tour with Willlie. That being said, I'm not a big fan of the Sands Event Center. The staff is nice, but the acoustics are lousy.
Show started right on time -- how refreshing! Have been a fan for over 40 years and was so happy to finally see Kris in person. Wonderful!
Thanks for a great evening Kris and The Strangers! We miss you Merle!
Show was really great old-school country .Kris was outstanding with great band.
So enjoyed the concert and as an added bonus we all got a walk down memory lane with an excellent selection of Merle Haggard tunes. I brought my 21 year old daughter and introduced her to this great music. She stated, she felt like she got an amazing history lesson witnessing a country music icon! Kris, I saw you in 1977 in Phoenix, AZ with Willie Nelson and once again you did not disappoint. The Paramount Theater as always is a terrific venue. Thank you all for a memorable evening!
The only thing I wish, that I would of been able to buy a T shirt, but then I can buy one online:) My first time being able to see him outside of The Highway Men and with seats Row A seats 8 & 9 they were perfect.
Big thanks and appreciation to a wonderful evening with Kris Kristofferson and his band. He sang all my favorite songs and called out to his back up band too. Also big kudos to all the staff at the Paramount who helped move us and direct us to where our seats were located. They were very friendly and helpful in all our questions. We will be back...:)))
