About

Kevin James began his career as a stand-up on the Long Island comedy scene. After being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom.

The King of Queens, which premiered in 1998, ran for nine seasons on CBS with James starring and executive producing, and it garnered him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show concluded its run in 2007 but continues to air daily in syndication across the country and around the world. James also starred in, and executive produced The Crew, a sitcom set in the world of NASCAR and is currently developing a single camera comedy (both for Netflix).

James brought his stand-up act to TV with Sweat the Small Stuff, a one-hour special for Comedy Central. Kevin James and Ray Romano executive produced and starred in the HBO Sports Special Making the Cut: The Road to Pebble Beach; a documentary about the Pebble Beach Pro Am Golf Tournament that was nominated for a Sports Emmy. His second comedy special Never Don't Give Up premiered on Netflix to critical acclaim.

James was the producer, co-writer, and star of the hit comedies Paul Blart: Mall Cop 1 & 2, Zookeeper, and Here Comes The Boom. James made his feature film debut in Columbia Pictures' Hitch starring opposite Will Smith, and starred alongside Adam Sandler in Pixels, Grown Ups, Grown Ups 2, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, and Hubie Halloween. He starred in the feature True Memoirs of an International Assassin for Netflix, the independent action thriller Becky, and starred in and produced Home Team for Netflix.

    Kevin James terrible

by Dennis on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Opening act was great. However Kevin James had 1.5 hours of fat jokes. Wasn't happy at least the opening act had lots of different material, but seriously 1.5 hours of fat jokes. I won't see Comedian Kevin James ever again, safe your money.

    Was okay, expected better

by John on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

While Kevin was funny, he stuck to the same subject for his entire standup. Expected much more from an experienced actor and comedian.

    Kevin James The Man

by Froggie on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Kevin James was excellent! Laughed so much! He kept it clean and talked about subjects everyone could relate to! He could have selected a better person for the opening though. Very comfortable seating ! Kevin James looked great.., lost lots of weight.

    Too long On one story-Underwhelmed

by Marty D on 4/8/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

He was very funny on his TV Special from a few years back but, this time in his live act, he stayed on the fat/overweight topic FAR too long. He told a story of a Wendy's trip that seemingly never ended with very little humor mixed into it. People near me were getting bored and shifting in their seats. I actually saw people leave and not return. My wife and I were very disappointed and wont see Kevin James in the future.

    So so

by DD on 4/7/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

I love Kevin James as an actor. King of Queens is one of my favorite sitcoms. He is hysterical. However, his stand up, not so good. I have to be honest I didn’t really find him very funny. My husband and I were very disappointed. I expected more because he’s so funny on tv.

    All fat jokes

by Kelly on 4/7/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

Wish he had more to talk about, Wendy’s was about half the show.

    Good act, but seemed strained

by Cw on 4/7/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

There were some funny parts, but at times it seemed strained or almost like he was forced into doing this performance.

    Pretty funny

by Jennifer on 4/7/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

My husband and I have been Kevin James fans for a long time. Love king of queens love his movies. He was pretty funny. We would see him again. His show was only an hour and his opening act was about 15 so it was a pretty short show.

    It’s was okay

by Dee from New York on 4/7/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

The opener was hilarious - Kevin James was a little up staged, but I think he knew that. It’s started off pretty funny, then some fat jokes stayed too long. Wish he would have gone into different areas. Most suffer from weight gain and not always funny. Overall, it was a good show.

    Fantastic

by Nacho623 on 4/7/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

Kevin was on his game! He is so down to earth, and is willing to make fun of himself in a way that is hysterical. His show was very funny and fun. I felt like I was listening to Doug Heffernan talking lol. Second time seeing him and I will always go when he comes to Daytona Beach.

    Disappointed

by RD on 4/7/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

Very disappointed in this performance, simply just not funny. I went there to hear jokes and humor and was told a story about the restaurant Wendy’s and how old and fat he is. Just not with my time and money.

Kevin James made me laugh for a solid hour

by Eastcoastflorida on 4/7/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

The Daytona Peabody is always a fun venue, easy in/out, and with helpful staff. Kevin James is hilarious! My daughter and I laughed for a solid hour. Would see him again in a heartbeat and will frequent this venue again also.

    Oh boy! 😜

by Geejay on 4/7/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

We are huge fans of Kevin James & we enjoyed the show but for our hard earned money… found the material quite weak. Several 10 min jokes with differing subjects would have been better. He is still a favorite!

    Good show But

by Dickjane on 4/7/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

Couldn't hear the warm up act. Kevin James was good but a pretty short show. It was like an alarm went off at 60 minutes and he was gone.

    Kevin James

by Steph on 3/7/24Bayou Music Center - Houston

As a huge Kevin James fan, I was so excited when I learned he was on tour. However, the 45 min set was highly disappointing. 2 bits all about food (I know that’s his shtick but not the whole show) and only 45 min for the cost of the tickets. So underwhelmed!!!
