About

Kevin James began his career as a stand-up on the Long Island comedy scene. After being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom.

The King of Queens, which premiered in 1998, ran for nine seasons on CBS with James starring and executive producing, and it garnered him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show concluded its run in 2007 but continues to air daily in syndication across the country and around the world. James also starred in, and executive produced The Crew, a sitcom set in the world of NASCAR and is currently developing a single camera comedy (both for Netflix).

James brought his stand-up act to TV with Sweat the Small Stuff, a one-hour special for Comedy Central. Kevin James and Ray Romano executive produced and starred in the HBO Sports Special Making the Cut: The Road to Pebble Beach; a documentary about the Pebble Beach Pro Am Golf Tournament that was nominated for a Sports Emmy. His second comedy special Never Don't Give Up premiered on Netflix to critical acclaim.

James was the producer, co-writer, and star of the hit comedies Paul Blart: Mall Cop 1 & 2, Zookeeper, and Here Comes The Boom. James made his feature film debut in Columbia Pictures' Hitch starring opposite Will Smith, and starred alongside Adam Sandler in Pixels, Grown Ups, Grown Ups 2, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, and Hubie Halloween. He starred in the feature True Memoirs of an International Assassin for Netflix, the independent action thriller Becky, and starred in and produced Home Team for Netflix.

    Too Short a Show

by F and S on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

I was looking forward to seeing Kevin James. His opening act was great. Kevin James was really funny, but I expected a longer show for the money I spent. I have been to shows before and they were never this short.

by Menzamenz on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Both Kevin and his opening act - Richie were very very funny but the show was way too short. 15 min opening and 45 min for Kevin James

    Disappointed

by Dave on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

I was very disappointed. I see him every year when he’s at this venue. He’s not that funny anymore. He spent 25 minutes talking about himself the fat guy going through a Wendy’s drive through.

He was drawn out and not nearly as funny as last time. We ended up leaving early😢

    Laugh out loud!

by Melba on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Opening act was decent, a little on the cheesy side. We had never seen any standup from Kevin James, but we absolutely love King of Queens. We were not at all disappointed. It was a little repetitive with the Fat Michelle jokes. Other than that, we loved it!

Super funny but way to short.

by Barb on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Kevin James was so funny but the show was super short. It started 30 mins late and ended 1 hour late. We wanted more and was surprised when he walked off stage and the lights came on.

    Didn’t love this routine

by Banker girl on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

I love Kevin James, and have been watching him for years. He is so great on the king of queens and the movies he’s made. I just didn’t really like his act at the hard rock. I think he spent too much time on just a couple subjects. I do love that he is a clean comedian, and I will definitely see him whenever I can.

The King of Hard Rock Live

by Kev's Twin on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Good show. A LOT of people got up multiple times to exit/return theater during show which was annoying. Funny material...wish he had gone longer.

I enjoyed the show very much. The opening act was excellent and of course my favorite person Kevin James was great. I watch King of Queens all the time. I have seen each episode many many times. I saw him February of 23 and would see him again.

    Kevin James Rocks

by VETTEMASTER93 on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

The show was good but short. You should have booked at least one more act before Kevin came on or he has more material.

    Kevin, the Food Man

by BlazingRN on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Kevin, he is a very funny guy. I liked that he was real. What I didn’t like is how short the show was and that his entire show was about food and being overweight. Although it was funny, I was waiting for the food focus to end and another topic to start. Suddenly, the show ended and I was literally left stunned. Our group thought perhaps he was coming back for an encore but nope, the lights went on and everyone piled out. That was disappointing. Kevin had an opening act who was also very funny but his focus was about being old. Ugh, fat and old was the theme of the entire night! Kinda depressing if you think about it. But we did laugh and have a good time overall. Thanks Kevin!

    Not very funny

by Mindy on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

I thought the guy that opened for him was much funnier. My husband enjoyed him but I didn't feel he was that funny.

The King of Queens mailed it in.

by Rick on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

This was my fifth time seeing kevin live, and this was by far the worst performance. Almost the entire show was one bit about kevin going to Wendy’s behind his wife’s back. It’s an OK bit but not good enough to carry an entire show. So hugely disappointing.

    Surprisingly Disappointed

by Tracy L on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

If you like jokes about Kevin being overweight and being obsessed with food then you might like this show. Found it to be tiresome and not funny at all. Changed my opinion of Kevin James and don't think I'll ever visit a Wendy's again. I myself could have made his topic of sneak eating at a Wendy's funnier then he did. Not to mention the opening act is stuck in the covid area as that was his main topic. Disappointed felt like I wasted an hour and half for my Saturday Night.

Laughed until I cried! Cheeks hurt!

by KD954 on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Kevin makes me laugh until I cry. He tickles our funny bones in such a way that we can help but to laugh. His humble spirit and comical demeanor are such a gift. We appreciate that his jokes are clean and respectful of his family. Kevin is a blessing to all. This is our second year attending and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity, the memories, and the laughter. Our cheeks hurt from laughing so hard! Highly recommend for anyone who hasn’t seen him on stage! Kevin, you are a very magical soul. Many blessings to you and your family.

    Little disappointed

by Bob on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

He used a lot of the material setups of the tv series King of Queens. He’s a funny guy but I think he can do better.

    Too short

by JunJan on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

I had high expectations about the show as he is super good. But didn’t enjoy it as much. One line didn’t take you to another. It was repetitive… the fat argument was fun for a moment but then to much. And the good bye was so unprofessional. Next time I watched in Neflix and save myself 5 tickets. Again we love Kevin James I hope he can put a better show together.
