Kevin James began his career as a stand-up on the Long Island comedy scene. After being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom.
The King of Queens, which premiered in 1998, ran for nine seasons on CBS with James starring and executive producing, and it garnered him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show concluded its run in 2007 but continues to air daily in syndication across the country and around the world. James also starred in, and executive produced The Crew, a sitcom set in the world of NASCAR and is currently developing a single camera comedy (both for Netflix).
James brought his stand-up act to TV with Sweat the Small Stuff, a one-hour special for Comedy Central. Kevin James and Ray Romano executive produced and starred in the HBO Sports Special Making the Cut: The Road to Pebble Beach; a documentary about the Pebble Beach Pro Am Golf Tournament that was nominated for a Sports Emmy. His second comedy special Never Don't Give Up premiered on Netflix to critical acclaim.
James was the producer, co-writer, and star of the hit comedies Paul Blart: Mall Cop 1 & 2, Zookeeper, and Here Comes The Boom. James made his feature film debut in Columbia Pictures' Hitch starring opposite Will Smith, and starred alongside Adam Sandler in Pixels, Grown Ups, Grown Ups 2, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, and Hubie Halloween. He starred in the feature True Memoirs of an International Assassin for Netflix, the independent action thriller Becky, and starred in and produced Home Team for Netflix.

Kevin James and his opening act had me none stop laughing throughout the whole show. I wish I could meet him. I would definitely recommend going to see him. Tickets are a little pricey, but I have to say I was pretty happy with my purchase. Can't wait till he comes back to Atlanta. I would definitely see him again!!!
Auditorium was a little tight. People got coming in late and coming to and from the restrooms were pretty annoying. But Kevin James was pretty funny. I was wiping my eyes of tears at some points.
Totally woth the money. He came out swinging. He had great new material and I absolutely loved his old stuff. The opening act was the perfect warmup. I was suprised at how funny he is on the fly.
It was a great show! Very Funny! It was wonderful to laugh without being peppered with the bad language most comedians abusively use.
Kevin James had me laughing almost the whole time. I wish he would have performed for at least 1 1/2 hours. It seemed a little short for $55 spent. Great show though. When is Louis CK coming to Atlanta?
I have always loved Kevin James' softer humor that pokes fun at the realities of daily life--from raising small children to eating Cheetos.
Kevin James was super funny and surprisingly clean. I would recommend him to anybody looking for a good night of clean, enjoyable fun. My only complaint is that it went to fast.
It was pretty good. Ok I laughed my ass off and wet myself a little.
Great show; humorous new material; very entertaining.
Great, fun event - he's soooo hilarious. Great venue!
I am a rabid Kevin James fan and I had been looking forward to this show for weeks and weeks. I was so disappointed. Maybe I was expecting more "Doug Heffernan" humor. I had heard most of KJ's material on his Comedy Central appearance. I thought it a little strange that he would not have shared more new material on a major tour....I'm quite sure there were lots of folks in the audience who also saw him on Comedy Central because as we were leaving, I heard lots of people commenting on how disappointed they were. The presentation was more like a monologue with little bits of somewhat funny "stuff" that he has used before...I really expected hilarity and he just didn't deliver. It was a pricey ticket for a group of very hard working ladies and we just didn't get transported to our "happy place". I still love Kevin and would probably go see him again at another time. Maybe he was having an unfortunate off night. We absolutely love the Cobb Energy Center - excellent venue - love the easy access to I-75....I traveled amost 50 miles for this show!! Have been to other events at CEC and will continue to support the venue. Thanks for letting me vent.
He wasn't on, he was off from the beginning. I wouldn't ever recommend seeing him to anyone. My wife and brother in law both fell asleep, I was actually envyous of them. He didn't have any good material, and actually cut the show short. Very boring as a comedian and needs to stick to acting.
LOVED the show, laughed, laughed, laughed. Kevin James is every body's comedian, he hits home with his jokes on life. Clean but FUNNY!!!
Surprisingly, I thought Kevin James' warm up act was more funny then he was. He was quite entertaining and hilariious. Don't get me wrong, Kevin was funny, but it seemed half the time he was winging it.Seats at Cobb Energy are EXTREMELY uncomfortable.
Kevin James and his opening act (an Italian name I can't pronounce or spell) were great! Very funny! The performance lasted about an hour and half which I thought was a decent time. The two performers were also very clean. Although the material was adult in nature it wasn't overly perverted and the cursing was kept to a minimum. I appreciated that!
Kevin James gave my husband and I and our friends a night of unforgettable laughter! I adore the fact that he is clean in the use of his words...only a real comedian can do that. He is totally "real" in that he uses everyday things to make you laugh and he's a good family guy......which makes him appealing to his audience....he's just like you and me. His opener Ritchie was awesome too....We wanted more of both of them!
I was super excited to see Doug Heffener aka Kevin James and when I purchased the tix was hoping for an 11 performance (on scale of 1-10) Honestly, the comedian that opened for him was funnier! Kevin seemed tired and unmotivated, basically didn't put a whole lot into his routine. It's almost as if all he has to do is show up and collect a paycheck these days, not really try to impress an audience. I'm not saying he was bad, just disappointing. On a scale of 1-10 I gave him and 8 and my husband gave him a 6. Overall I would suggest my friends go and see him, just be warned he is not exactly at the top of his game. I mean you can only tell so many fat jokes in a one hour routine, right?
Amazing. Every line was hilarious. I would have paid twice as much.
Everything was amazing laughed the entire time, no one like Kevin James!!
