KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD IN CONCERT:
Guitar god Kenny Wayne Shepherd is one of the fiercest young axmen of his generation, and he continues to blow audiences away every time he takes the stage. The self-taught virtuoso is a sight to behold in concert, where his furious fingers and flailing blonde locks serve as the perfect counterpoint to the precision and ease of his razor-sharp riffs. Whether he's playing bluesy originals from 2014's Goin' Home or covering legends like Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix, Shepherd always treats fans to electrifying performances that are as heavy on pure gusto as they are on musical chops.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Shreveport, Louisiana-born Kenny Wayne Shepherd got his first guitar in early childhood and began learning the instrument with a unique self-taught method. He was quickly recognized as a guitar prodigy, and at age 13 he was invited to play on stage with blues icon Bryan Lee. His first performance at the Red River Revel Arts Festival in Shreveport attracted the eye of label execs, and before long Shepherd had signed a multiple record deal with Giant Records. His 1995 debut album Leadbetter Heights topped the blues chart, a feat he repeated with five subsequent albums including his 1997 sophomore album Trouble Is... -- the longest-running album on the Billboard Blues Chart in history. In 2014 Shepherd released his seventh studio album Goin' Home, another chart-topper that has fans eagerly awaiting his next must-see series of tour dates.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd was an incredible show. Lots of energy. Got the crowd involved. Was a fun night. The venue is really good. Easy to get in and out. Little crowded near the bathrooms as the entrance to the seating is the same general area to the bathrooms. Great sound and no cracking or reverb. Our favorite place to see live music.
King Solomon Hicks was wonderful!! Eric Gales was so horribly loud and had so much base, it was painful. By the time Kenny Wayne came onstage I had a migraine and my friend, who is a big fan of Kenny Wayne Shepherd, was ready to go home after 3 songs. We normally have a great experience, and this was our first disappointment at The Rose.
Just WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Security needs to let people get up and dance ITS MUSIC!!
Kenny Wayne Shepherd is one of my guitar heroes and he did not disappoint! His two opening acts were awesome and the whole night was filled with top notch talent! Kenny played for about 2 hours and played stuff spanning his whole career. One of the best shows I’ve ever been to
Love love love KWS and the new/lesser known talents he showcases. King Solomon Hicks was absolutely awesome. An incredible natural talent. Eric Gales is a fabulous musician as well but his set was way louder than Hicks and KWS to the detriment of the music. I could actually feel the bass drum hits vibrating in my sternum. Not exaggerating. The excessive volume also made it hard to catch lyrics. We listened to Gales new album at home and it was amazing. "Storm in My Heart" is a new classic. Kenny Wayne and his band were just phenomenal. A true bluesman. Especially enjoyed Noah being back on vocals!
I honestly went to see Eric Gales... And walked away with a huge appreciation for the musician that Kenny Wayne Sheppard is... Don't question whether to go.. it's more of a question of how many times to go see Kenny Wayne Sheppard. He and his band were amazing
It was a great concert-worth the price of admission! Rose Music Center does a super job with parking, seating, and concessions!
Great night of blues! All three acts were incredible, even with the venue having sound issues during Eric Gales set, he played through it and was a great performer. King Solomon Hicks was an unexpected surprise, we really enjoyed him and his style of music. And what can you really say about Kenny and Noah, there isn't a better 1-2 punch of guitar and vocals in blues. It's a can't miss night of incredible blues music!
Saw him when he was a teenager at circle center mall when they had all then venues on the upper floor. Finally got to see him again with the Jim Irsay band in Indy. After that performance, had to go see him in Nashville!!! He was absolutely fantastic! The band was awesome & his guitar solos were just unbelievable. I would go see him every weekend if he played near Indy.
Whether it’s a Stevie Ray Vaughn song or Joni Hendrix KWS kills it. Talent beyond compare with touch, feeling and showmanship. I’ve seen him before and will see him again! AMAZING
Awesome show from the moment openers the Ally Venable Band took the stage. The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band was everything I expected & more. Hoping to see the KWSB again soon. I was very satisfied!
KWS and Band rocked the BCMC!!! Great setlist, excellent sound and a very energetic performance. The opener, Ally Venable was fantastic as well. Love this venue just wish it wasn’t over an hour away from home.
Still haven’t gotten a clue who the warm up band was. To be honest wish he didn’t have one. I wasn’t to impressed with them. Kenny on the other hand didn’t disappoint. His band was spot on. The vocals were amazing. Kenny playing the guitar was fun to watch and great to hear. Good night of entertainment. He played some new music as well as some of his older music. Loved them all. Probably the four time seeing him, God willing it won’t be the last. Good entertainer. He’s got it down and improving with age.
Venue was perfect. Band was tight! Played both old and new music. Enjoyed being on stage. Sensational musicians. Not a bad seat in the music center. Worth the $ to see true talent.
We loved the concert!!!! The warm-up band was great and then on came the KWS band. Kenny was his usual amazing performer. We have seen him several times and he is always fantastic! They played a great variety of their music and ended with favorites from his first album. Fabulous! The sound was mixed a little low for the vocals but the instruments were loud and clear. The audience loved both bands with many standing ovations. The venue was wonderful - easy parking, great seats no matter where you’re seated, plenty of leg room so people can get past you without stepping on toes and the police helped everyone exit so smoothly that we were out of there in minutes. What a terrific event!
Great concert, Would highly recommend. His band was on point, loved the little organ player. I dont think KWS gets the credit he deserves cause he is a really great Blues singer.
Kenny & band were phenomenal. Venue was freezing. Maybe think about offering ear protection for littles - there were quite a few there - or at least reminding adults to take care of theirvlittles' ears. Overall, great experience.
I’ve seen a lot of live blues rock bands and Mr. Shepherd is right up there with the best. High intensity and non stop action from start to finish. Well worth the price of admission. If you have a chance to see him, do yourself a favor and go.
