Rating: 5 out of 5by Roninblues on 7/3/10Jazz Alley - Seattle Rating: 4 out of 5 Keiko is sooooooo smoooooooth!
by NYrangerFrank on 4/1/10Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingKeiko Matsui is a virtuoso on the keys -- electronic or grans piano. Her introspection and execution of molodies demonstrate her appreciate of other cultures and lands far away. Her music captures the mood of these places and delights the listener with soothing sounds which always make me smile. At this Jazz fest, I just wished that she played a few more songs since the show was delayed a few minutes with a technical difficulty. She really is worth seeing in person.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Keiko Matsui was great!
by Diehard00 on 3/30/10Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingSince I am a huge fan I was expecting nothing but the best and she delivered. Tthis was my second time seeing her. The only sad thing was that I thought it was cut short. What I thought was going into intermission was the end. When I first saw her about eight years it seemed likke she played forever. But what she performed was awesome... totally awept away by her performance.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Keiko Matsui was outstanding !!!!!
by Anonymous on 3/29/10Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingKeiko Matsui performed an outstanding concert. But what made this one more memorable was her personal anecdotes about her concert touring. She continues to be an exceptional artist who constanting expands the boundaries of Jazz and New Age music.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Powerful show
by ChrisBottiFan on 3/29/10Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingDear Keiko, wish i was your Sound Tech. Did you fire the soundman from that evening? LOL. Enough said. Your show was Awsome Awsome Awsome. You and the band conducted the best show in True sound i've ever heard. You on the 88 and keys, it was like you were'nt there, you, were in the Zone. and your bass player, WOW. The men on the sax, guiter and drums were great. I waited awhile for you to be in this area and it was worth the wait.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Keiko Matsui was excellent!
by matishka on 3/29/10Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingWe have not seen Keiko Matsui in quite a few years. What a special evening we had, she is better than ever! We will look for her to perform again, hopefully in the near future. The members of her band were very good also.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Keiko Matsui just gets better
by TonyR2 on 3/28/10Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingI first saw Keiko at Musicfest in Bethlehem and became a huge fan. I own every albumn that she has produced and love her music. She is so creative and so talented that even with a touring band her music is amazing. It's no wonder that this show sold out faster than any other at the Berks Jazz Festival. I only wish that her performance was an hour longer!
Rating: 4 out of 5 Keiko Matsui - so energetic and talented!
by gdice353 on 3/28/10Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingThis was the third time I've seen Keiko Matsui, and the third time was "the charm". It was her best performance. She played many songs from her new CD and I just love it! It's the first she has produced herself, and it shows off her considerable talents. Keiko spoke to the audience more than she usually does and told some funny stories from her most recent tour experiences. She is always cute and energetic, but she added even more fun and humor than usual. After the concert Keiko was very accessible, signing autographs and posing for photos with fans. That's what I love about the Berks Jazz Fest and jazz artists universally: they are very fan friendly and accessible. If not for some technical difficulties at the start, this would have been a perfect five-star experience!
Rating: 4 out of 5 Keiko Matsui wows the crowd
by poconoman on 3/28/10Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingWell, my first experience at the Berks Jazz Fest was a good one. Keiko Matsui certainly played her heart out for the sold out crowd. After about a 10 minute delay in getting the concert started, due to technical problems with her keyboards, we were treated to a wide variety of songs from her entensive catalogue. After the first song, the mix was just right. Two comments....first, her bass player was great, he really played his instrument with enthusiam...second, at 70 minutes, the concert was too short. Many people commented on the way out that she should have played longer, and I couldn't have agreed more!
Rating: 5 out of 5 Keiko Matsui @ Berk Jazz Festival
by martpw on 3/28/10Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingF-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C performance last night. Matsui-san and her band shared some awesome jazz along with some background around each song. Her latest CD was produced by her (1st time) and she played many songs from it. Another winner! If you get the chance, go and ENJOY this performer!!! Saw one of the guitar players from Yokohama at another hotel later that evening (Euge Groove concert was also GREAT) and found out he is originally from Osaka (l shared Iived there for 8 months). He was great on the guitar, as well as all the other band member - each so talented and played so well together. MPW
Rating: 4 out of 5 Excellent Peformance!
by PrivateCitizen on 3/28/10Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingThe show started out with no power to Keiko's Yamaha keyboards. After about 5 minutes of scrambling by a technician all was well. She played for about 1 hour 20 minutes or so, so not a very long show, but excellent none-the-less. I don't know much about her body of work, other than the song "Black River", which is how I was initially turned on to her. However, what I heard sounded great, and she spent some time speaking to the audience about what had inspired her song writing. At the end of the show she signed CDs, which was cool.

by BobL123 on 3/28/10Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingBut the show at the 2010 Berks Jazz Fest was too short - 1:05. Sax and Bass players both added a lot to the evening's performance.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Great Performance
by TerryW on 9/26/09Birchmere - AlexandriaOne oif the greatest performances I'veI witnessed by artist. Not flashy, though with great poise and pizzaz and knows how to carry the audience. What I've liked most about her music; it's her's, and covered music. Too many artists use covered music thinking they are pleasing the audience because it's a song that 's played and people liked or danced to it. Keiko, No it's all hers and it's always refreshing. Thanks for a good night of entermainment and great music.
