  • Amazing!

    by JED20646 on 4/12/16Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

What a performance! I wasn't familiar with this artist before but I am now a fan! Her piano playing was fast and flawless. Her band members were equally talented and mesmerizing to watch. So looking forward to seeing her again!

  • Short but sweet!

Great show. Keiko was amazing, and her new "band" was top notch.

  • Interesting

Not having heard of her before and having a Japanese girlfriend I thought why not. Turned out to be a pretty good night. Very well played smooth jazz what ever that really means. Opposed to rough jazz? I enjoyed the music very much but seating at the Birchmire can be sketchy. Luckily we found some decent seats. And ran into a work colleague also. Was disappointed in a 15 minute late start and only a 75 minute show. Seamed short.

  • Keiko is my favorite forever!!!

by gainor on 4/12/16Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

I absolutely love Keiko's music and her stage presence the show started on time, she did not talk too much in between songs she is gracious with her band the lighting was good and the mood was nice..... very intimate at the Birchmere, too i have also seen her perform at other venues.... She's my girl!!!

  • Keiko brilliant, new band members questionable

by KD33 on 2/17/16Humphreys Backstage Live - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

To see one of the most beautifully melodic and passionate soft jazz piano players of our time in as intimate a setting as Humphreys Backstage Live was a lifetime memory. The untimely, lengthy and disproportionately loud solos of her new band members from Cuba, however brilliant, detracted from what we all came to see and hear, and the softness that differentiates Keiko Matsui from the pack. Since this was their first show together, perhaps these guys and her new guitarist from Brazil, will begin to blend with Keiko.

  • Keiko Matsui at Humphrey´s backstage

by PanchoW on 2/17/16Humphreys Backstage Live - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Heard about Keiko from one of my closest causin years ago but never had the oportunity to hear her music. The oportunity was at Humphreys at Valentine´s day, had the tickets bought and gave as present to my wife for the day. We drove about two hours (ea. way) to get to the place and it paiyed the time invested. Was a very inspiring and delightful concert, full of great interpretations filling our spirit and soul with joy and peace.

  • GREAT SHOW - Crappy organization at entry

by Stobias on 2/16/16Humphreys Backstage Live - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Keiko and her new band were great!! The concert venue, Humphrey's Backstage Lounge suffered from disorganization and uncertainty.

  • Magical Experience

by Qymmia on 2/16/16Humphreys Backstage Live - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Keiko Matsui is unselfishly passionate in her musical expressions. She never disappoints. Her versatility continues to grow. She plays with such fluidity and it sounds like she is gifted with two sets of hands to scale the piano keys. I continuously recruit new fans to enjoy Keiko's gift.

  • Great Concert & Venue

by ChopperJ1959 on 2/16/16Humphreys Backstage Live - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Keiko Matsui charmed the audience with her personality and musical talent. This intimate setting was the perfect venue to showcase her skills on the piano as well as the other members of her ensemble.

The show and venue was incredible. She is starting out the year with a new band and will only get better for sure. Humphreys back stage is a great venue for a show of this caliber for sure.

  • Reliable & Outstanding Keiko

by GEMBMA on 10/22/15Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Keiko is a seasoned and outstanding professional who engages and entertains. Not too much fluff; she simply gets down to business and showcases her talent.

Keiko is just awesome! You will truly enjoy her Instrumental jazz. I wish she play my favorite song (the sea breeze). Disappointed but love her!

  • Keiko always performs flawlessly

All band members were excellent and entertaining!!!

  • Unlike seating, enjoyable.

by Raker on 7/27/15Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 3 out of 5

Don't plan to return to facility for events due to seating or, in some cases I'm reading, none. Place is too small and they call it a concert hall but when it provides seating, it's folding chairs suitable for a high school play. For larger crowds, they just remove the seats. Event was affected by half due to discomfort. Even players had to vie for stage space in some instances. On the other hand, Keiko was great. After warming up her set, we were distracted enough to forget the guy we're crammed next to. She was promoting new CD so many songs in it were played. In it, she's collaborating with a major player of Fourplay. It would seem natural for her to follow in the footsteps of Bob James on such a collaboration. Being a fan of both groups, I'd highly recommend seeing her and new CD. You'll notice the difference live since it is like a bonus version of the songs. Can't forget the CD symbolism. That's Keiko.

  • Talented & Charming

by Bionictomato on 7/27/15Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

What a talented performer and what an immensely talented back-up band. My wife is the big fan, but consider me a convert after this show. My only complaint is that she didn't play a few hours longer!!! Such a wonderful stage presence and to meet her afterwards was a complete delight. Please, take the time to see her, you'll be entertained for every moment.

  • Keiko Matsui provided a wonderful evening of music

by Mikeazaz on 7/27/15Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Keiko is very personable and interacts well with the audience. The sax player (forgot his name, but from Virginia Beach area) was one of the highlights when he played many of the songs during set. Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is the best venue for this type of concert. Up close and personal with the artist on stage makes the event even better.

  • Great!

by JaxMusicLover on 7/27/15Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Smooth, energetic, refreshing! This is a quiet Japanese lady who is a jazz dynamo. The entire band is awesome but the sax player blew the roof off the joint!
