  • Great and convient venue

by Digger01 on 5/16/17Blue Ocean Music Hall - SalisburyRating: 5 out of 5

After a poor experience on my first time to go to this venue, I had a chat with the owner/manager about all that happened. I have to say that she was very welcoming in learning about my issues and it was obvious that she spoke with all involved. I've been back twice since and both times it was a great experience. There's not a bad seat in the house and its acoustics are top notch. I'll go again.

  • Karla was as good as ever!

by Kyle11 on 5/15/17Blue Ocean Music Hall - SalisburyRating: 4 out of 5

Her voice is still as strong and beautiful as when I heard her many years ago.

  • Karla Bonoff's voice was still beautiful :-)

by Sarkis on 5/15/17Blue Ocean Music Hall - SalisburyRating: 4 out of 5

Karla's performance was very intimate, especially being at the Blue Ocean Music Hall, which is the best concert venue I've ever been to I'm my 50 years of going to concerts!

  • Terrific show

by Iwasthere17 on 5/15/17Blue Ocean Music Hall - SalisburyRating: 5 out of 5

I was really looking forward to seeing Karla perform, as she's been a favorite of mine for years, and she didn't disappoint. Her voice sounds virtually identical to when she was in her twenties (there aren't many performers who can boast that), and her banter was fun and revealing. Her guitarist, Nina Gerber, had been unknown to me - surprising, given the who's who of who she's played with. Nina's playing was magical - she can play like she's playing slide - with no slide. Definitely a must-see.

the venue is amazing and Karla Bonoff was absolutely outstanding. I have listened to her music for 35 + yrs and she did not disappoint me at all. I will definitely see her again when she comes back around. She is a very talented lady. Her backup guitarist Nina was also outstanding. I was blown away with the whole show.

  • Jimmy Webb delights at Bichmere

by Eerful on 4/27/16Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

My favorite songwriter at my favorite venue---it had to be great and it was! I had seen Jimmy twice before and he is always outstanding. He sang many of his familiar hits and told interesting stories about each song. He ended with MacArthur Park, which drew a standing ovation. As always, he was extremely gracious and generous with his time following the concert.

  • Karla Bonoff and Jimmy Webb

by accupath on 4/25/16Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 4 out of 5

Great show. Karla's voice is a pure as on her 1977 eponymous album. Nuff said - if you are a Karla fan, get your tickets. Most of the crowd was there for Jimmy Webb. Great stories - absolutely worth admission. Wish he had gone into the stuff he did with Art Garfunkel - love those songs.

  • Karla Bonoff NEVER Disappoints

    by 12BX on 4/24/16Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 4 out of 5

Karla Bonoff has an amazing voice and sang most of the favorites. It was just the piano and guitar, which is always the best for my taste. Her voice is so pure and it shines in that stripped down music style. I also enjoyed Jimmy Webb's stories that came with each song he performed. Lots of personal history that was enlightening. Karla also shared stories about the songs she sang. So glad she came to the Birchmere.

  • Karla was worth the 2 hour drive.

by keysleger on 4/16/12Bright House Networks Amphitheatre - BakersfieldRating: 5 out of 5

I bought tickets for this concert for the love of my life of 31 years as a valentine present. My wife and I are both long time fans. Although we had to drive 2 hours to get to the Bright House amphitheater and the weather was a little cold, the evening was awesome. Karla sounded as good as ever and did a beautiful job performing all of our favorite songs. Loved her humor and wow!!!! Nina Gerber on guitar. What a talent. I am going to check out her CD's. Dispite both Karla and Nina trying to keep their hands warm enough to paly on a cold night, the concert was amazing. Worth every mile I drove to see this truely class artist perform.

  • Concert was on the cool to cold side

by Dithers on 4/2/12Temple for the Performing Arts - Des MoinesRating: 3 out of 5

Poor Karla Bonoff was almost air-conditioned out of the Temple Theater on the Friday night that we saw her perform many of her tunes. Bonoff complained of a cold, 'meat locker' environment on stage several times before the Temple staff finally got the hint and warmed up the air for her towards the end of her set. Vocally, Bonoff sounded very good, but unfortunately the concert suffered from a lack of band members and instruments. Besides Bonoff on guitar or piano, the only other presence was Nina Gerber on lead guitar......give us at least a drummer and a bassist to bring those songs together! Actually, Bonoff's wry comments to the audience about the misfortunes and ironies during her music career were often the highlights of the show. Lastly, the set, including the encore, was quite short at only one hour and fifteen minutes.

  • Karla Bonoff still has it

by galfan on 4/2/12Temple for the Performing Arts - Des MoinesRating: 4 out of 5

Saw her perform in 1978 and now again in 2012. couldn't tell by her voice so many years have passed. Simpy wonderful! Hope she comes back again soon!!

  • Karla still Great

by Hoyt01 on 4/1/12Temple for the Performing Arts - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

A great evening with Karla Bonoff! Her voice is still just as good as ever -- so clear and so strong. The house was packed with true fans, so all of her selections were well-loved. Karla had only one other musician on stage with her, an electric guitar player, and she was fantastic. It was all very well put together.

My first time seeing Karla. My husband has seen her in concert many times and has all of her CD's-now I know why: she is absolutely wonderful. Very warm and friendly, an incredible voice, and beautiful lady. Will definitely go see again!

The first and only time I had seen Karla before this show was as an opening act for the Jackson Brown 'Running on Empty' tour 1977? ( I think ). The venue was large and my seat was far away. But I enjoyed her songs that night and became a fan for life. This show had my wife and me in the second row in an intimate setting. ( I was last in University Auditorium for a final exam about 36 years ago. ) When she played the piano, she was right in front of us. I didn't expect her great sense of humor as she talked to her audience between songs. Her voice was strong and beautiful and her playlist covered the vast majority of my favorites. Thank you University of Florida for having this show!

  • Classic Karla

    by LS8901 on 2/1/12University Auditorium - GainesvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The crystal clear unique voice of Karla Bonoff resonated beautifully in the University Auditorium. Her electric guitar accompanist completed an exquisite performance.

  • Karla was fabulous !!

by fakename on 1/30/12University Auditorium - GainesvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I have been a fan of Karla's since the mid 70's as a college freshman. To finally see her live over 35 years later was worth the wait. She is easily one of our best and most underrated singer songwriters. With Karla on 6 string acoustic guitar and piano and a very talented Nina Gerber on electric guitar, we were delighted with great music for almost two hours. Her voice is beautiful, and has lost nothing with the passage of time.

  • Karla Bonoff - A wonderful evening!

    by EK52 on 1/29/12University Auditorium - GainesvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I have listened to Karla Bonoff since the early 80's. Her music had brought me through some tough personal times, and to finally see her and hear her, was very moving for me. Of course, her being a fantastic songwriter/singer, everyone has heard something she has written, even if performed by other artists, but doing her own material made it so much more an experience that meant much to me. The auditorium (UF Auditorium) was a perfect setting. The stage was uncluttered as it was only her playing guitar or piano, with the assistance of one of the most accomplished guitarists I have ever heard, Nena Gerber, who made a Fender Stratocaster sound like everything from a pedal steel to an organ. At times, you thought it was an entire band on stage. Ms. Bonoff was warm, funny, interacted with the audience and made it feel very personal. It was a memorable experience for me. My only regret was that I did not know she was signing autographs afterwards, and missed out on that. I could have listened to her all night.

  • Karla Bonoff A true Artist

by Scrabba on 1/29/12University Auditorium - GainesvilleRating: 5 out of 5

In an age of mass produced American idol garbage, there remain a few essential artists and Karla Bonoff Is one of them. A soulful singer and songwriter whos voice is as pure and sweet as ever. At age sixty she is slim and pretty and has great repore with the audience. I've been a fan of hers for over thirty years and it was great to see her again. My only disappointment was that there weren't more people to see this great talent and sincere person. Her music is personal and touching and she is a great musician. I love her!!

  • Bonoff was Fabulous!

by RedPJC on 1/29/12University Auditorium - GainesvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Truly amazing musician, singer and songwriter. I first fell in love with her music in the 70s and her voice and musical talents are still alive and well. I couldn't believe how fast an hour and a half went by. I would have loved listening to her for hours more! I was in tears after her encore performance of, "The Water is Wide". I had never seen her perform live and really enjoyed her fantastic sense of humor as she gave us snippets of her life's experiences in the music industry. Overall a truly terrific show.
