  • Josh Ritter, a Must See

by liquidkiki on 6/24/10The Music Box - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Josh's storytelling is off kilter and yet oddly funny and enjoyable. The music is phenomenal. I've seen Josh play many times over the years and he just gets better every time.

Josh Ritter was awesome! Live in concert Josh was the bomb!

  • One of the best gigs in a very long time

    by MusicLoverLA22 on 6/24/10The Music Box - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Having spent close to 20 years working in the music business I have seen a lot of bands, My girlfriend insisted we go to see Josh. I had a few of his records and , yeah , they are nice. Live him and his band.....one of the warmest friendliest most entertaining performances in years. Great songs, great performance craft. A pleasure to see and a strong recommend. A rare gem. You felt like he was playing just for you. The only fault. After close to 2 hours you had to go home!

  • Josh Ritter is fantastic!

by KDIABQ on 6/17/10National Hispanic Cultural Center Journal Theatre - AlbuquerqueRating: 5 out of 5

Imagine Dylan updated, a touch of Arlo Guthrie, some Springsteen--but with his very own approach to music and lyrics......Josh Ritter is a talent to behold! Thoughtful and thought-provoking lyrics, a sound that'll impress you, and a performing style that connects with his audience. Well worth your time and money! A performer who entertains both young and old.

Talk about great energy, talent and 'zing' - Josh and his band really gave their all - would see him again in a heartbeat!

Great energy, moving performance....other than John Prine, never seen a performer who loves what he does so much

  • Still floating from an amazing night

by fatbald1 on 6/17/10National Hispanic Cultural Center Journal Theatre - AlbuquerqueRating: 5 out of 5

I was blown away by Josh Ritter and the Royal City Band. As a long time fan of Josh's I was worried that I would be ultimately disappointed by seeing him live. Instead, was taken away by band's and his infectious joy of being on stage. The set was expertly paced with a mix of old and new songs (the new album is highly recommended) and a set of acoustic time with only Josh. You will not be disappointed!!

  • Josh Ritter amazing

If you enjoy Ritter, this is a do not miss show. Long set that did not disappoint.

Josh Ritter and his band were phenomenal! The venue was spacious but intimate and the crowd was great. Josh mixed up the songs from his albums and avoided the less fabulous numbers from his newest as well as threw in two solo acoustic covers in the middle that showcased his abilities and his folkish country foundations.

  • Fantastic really a feel good vibe

by Orionwolf on 5/30/10Town Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

There are so many reasons why I keep coming to hear Josh Ritter play. One, you get absorbed in his positive demeanor. You really get a vibe for his love of the crowd and the music he plays. This feeling stays with you afterwards for weeks. Two, great songwriting. Three, every opening act he has is always stellar. Four, he is consistent. I enjoy hearing his older stuff, but his recent additions exceed high standards. Five, he can rock it out or memorize you with a great ballad.

  • Great entertainment

by onionboy on 5/27/10Town Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Humor, pathos, and great rock n roll! Introspection, elation, and drama-- the show had it all. Great rapport with the audience. A joy from beginning to end.

  • A Truly Special Event

by Anonymous on 5/25/10Town Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

It would be hard to imagine anyone attending this event and not being blown away. Song selection was near perfect and the sincerity that dripped from each number pushed the show into the uinforgetable catagory. Josh played for around two hours and made sure to pick selections from each of his albums. He also performed a song, In the Dark, from The Animal Years without amplification or a microphone making for a memorable and unique experience. Josh Ritter has five full length LPs and seems to be getting better with each offering. His live performances are a thing of wonder and beauty. Any music lover would be a fool to pass up a chance to see him.

  • Puts on a great show

by MichaelinNYC on 5/24/10Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

Josh Ritter puts on an amazing show, even for those new to his music. Without doubt, this is a performer whose excitement to be performing is so nakedly evident that it is impossible for us concertgoers not to be affected by his energy. His songs are fantastic: the melodies stick with you and the lyrics reward close listening with their clever and literate depths. But the main reason to go to a Josh Ritter show is to be infected with his giddiness and joy at the power of music.

One of the best shows I've seen in a while. Eclectic, high energy, band was really tight, took risks, great range, really good energy among the band. and really connected with the audience.

Great show-managed to make the large auditorium feel small. Good mix of old and new songs.

i thought it was an amazing show. i loved every moment of it. the only problem i had was with the people who were perching beer were very loud and it was disturbing the concert . There should have been someone to tell them to keep to down

by Monte123 on 5/23/10Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

One of, if not the best show I have ever seen. He was quite improvisational. Catering to the crowd in an amazing way. You could just tell he was having as great a time as us.
