  • Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

by elisstarr on 6/27/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen this musical before, but never so well done. The singers were outstanding, Broadway quality or better! Thoroughly fun and comes across as current although the story is as old as Genesis.

  • Disappointing

by cchat on 6/27/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

I have seen this show before (amazing) and was really looking forward to this one. It was terrible. We could not understand a word the storyteller was singing. The brothers would be in french clothes one minute and farmers clothes the next??? This reminded me of a high school recital/musical. I found myself apologizing to my guest because it was so awful. The best part of this was the kids. Although it made it a little cheezy that they sat on the stage the whole time.

  • Muscial was too silly

by AtlantaReview on 6/27/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

Seen this production about 10 years ago and do not recall it being so silly. I did not like the take on the musical with the cowboys, fifties, elvis, themes. I even heard several people in the audience complaining around me as well. I appreciate the talet of the performers but not the style taken. It was also very difficult to understand what the narrator/performers were saying. This was also a common complaint heard in the audience. Not sure if it was the sound system of the theater or the performers themselves. I'm sad as I was so excited about seeing this musical again but can't say I would go back now.

  • Joseph - little bit of a let down

    by mikeg1974 on 6/27/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Not as good as previous productions i have seen. The set left a lot to be desired. The Joseph lead had a great voice, but other cast members were not as strong. Always love the songs in this show, but underwhelmed by this production

  • Joseph was "Amazing!"

by bvpatter on 6/27/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I am beginning to enjoy the shows that Theater of the Starts actually produces as much if not more that the national touring productions. The set was awesome. Including the kids throughout the entire show was done so that they didn't distract from the action, but added so much energy. The cast obviously enjoyed performing and enjoyed performing together. Thanks ToS. Job well done.

  • Scaled up Community Theatre

by josephGS on 6/27/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Sets were fair but props were laughable... hardware store buckets for Egyptian "lunchboxes"... really? Couldn't they have at least been decorated. Federov's performance was good. Overall it was just "OK".

  • Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

by Nanumm on 6/26/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

Three of the leads (all the males) gave very good performances and had above average voices; however, the female lead (narrator) had a shrill voice that made it difficult to understand the words of the songs she was singing. Very disappointed in the entire production, seemed below the usual standards of TWTS. My middle and high school aged grandchildren were disappointed as well. I have seen several productions of "Joseph" and just felt this did not meet the standards set by the other touring company producttions. Though the young children added to the show were energetic and appealing, they did nothing to add to the show. Would recommend that Atlanta theater goers wait for another production of this show.

  • Joseph Dreamcoat was great.

    by JohnsCreek30022 on 6/26/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

My wife and I really enjoyed the show. Great music, terrific singing ... Some funny moments with the Pharaoh .... And anything at the Fox Theater is special. What a fantastic venue. Drinks a bit overpriced ...

  • Fun and Uplifting Show

    by eltut66 on 6/24/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Although we have seen more than 100 Broadway and touring shows, we had somehow missed Joseph all these years. We were excited to see it for the first time and were not disappointed. The story is great, the music is uplifting, and the cast was near-perfect. We would see it again any time and highly recommend it to everyone.

  • Wonderful story & music.

    by Gu3z on 6/23/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The music is wonderful and worth it no matter what the other circumstances. During this performance there were numerous audio glitches with the sound system (which was already too sharp for my taste) so that deminished the experience slightly but it was still great to see!!!!

  • Joseph was outstanding!

by playcritic on 6/23/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The cast was awesome. The music was wonderful. I've never had this much fun at a play before. Smiled all the way through this performance. I wanted to jump up and down at the finale - it was fantastic!!

The sound was so bad you could not hear the show. I should have thrown that $80 in the air. Total waste!

  • Joseph & Pharoah were AMAZING?

    by ScottishLady51 on 6/23/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

This was one of the best. Wish I could have seen it when Donny Osmond was Joseph! Pharoah was AMAZING. The only thing about the whole show was the sound - HORRIBLE!!!!! I have perfect hearing and I could not understand half of what they were singing. It was opening night so I blame it on that. I hope it got better! Would go and see it again.

  • Seemed amateurish

by Pierea on 6/23/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

Would have expected better from a high scoop performance. Sound was off for the entire show, actors were essentially mumbling through the first half. Was really upset that I spent almost 200$ for this.

  • Average Joe

by MomtotwoPeaches on 6/23/11Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

We went on opening night...seemed to be trouble with sound and mic feedback. Many of the"punny" bits were missed thru casts phrasing. Not best version of this show we have seen.

  • The Children Are Amazing Too!

    by LadyJJ5 on 3/23/11Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

We sat right beside one of the group of children performers. They were remarkable actors and behaved beautifully. The narrator (Ms. Andres) was excellent - singing and acting. The dancing and singing from everyone was so energetic. What a wonderful performance!

Great performance! The narrator and Joseph were wonderful.

The play was very well performed. Was more toward the professional level then I had expected.
