  • Amazing Performer - Great Man

by Robbie on 2/29/24The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Jon Batiste put on an exciting show that had the audience signing along, clapping, standing, and dancing! His band was also exceptional, as was the female singer who played a major role. Watch the movie American Symphony to get more insight to the great person he is. He spreads messages of love, energy, excellence, and caring through his artistry. I will attend again the next time he is nearby.

  • Jon Batiste, Detroit

by KathyC on 2/29/24The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great concert in every way! The Fillmore Theatre is an old and very beautiful venue. Jon Batiste is an exceptional performer who promotes positivity and inclusive culture with his musical talents. And I also want to give a big shout out to the concert staff!! They assisted my sister up the stairs and to her seat. And they returned at the end of the show to help her down the stairs. This theatre was built before there were elevators so the assistance by the staff was very much appreciated.

  • Jon Bastiste at Fillmore was Amazing

by Music Fan on 2/29/24The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

The venue processed a long GA line quickly and efficiently. Beverages and bathrooms were easily accessible to able bodied people. Batiste came out on time and was *so* present. I'm sure they were following the usual setlist, but he and his band made it feel organic and energized. The show went for almost 2 hours with the encore but it felt the it ended way too soon, even though we were on our feet dancing the whole show. The band (necessarily without the stand up bass player) marched through the main floor audience, then the balcony, then the 2nd balcony. He kept saying 'I don't know you but I love you':)

  • New Material Lacked Interest

    by rap3310p on 2/29/24The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 2 out of 5

I was looking forward to hearing some of Jon Batiste Jazz music and there was very little in this concert. He hardly played the piano and the new music was not very interesting.

  • Joyous!

by Terry on 2/29/24The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

This was a joyous, high energy concert that was great fun. Jon Batiste is a remarkably talented musician -- played 7 instruments and sang and danced! -- and seems like a genuinely nice guy. We look forward to seeing him again.

  • Jon Batiste Rocks Detroit with a birllant show

by Jeffrey on 2/28/24Rating: 5 out of 5

I finally saw Jon Batiste on Monday 2/2624 at the Fillmore Theater in Detroit. Jon was a true revelation and rocked and vibed the audience with amazing talent by playing various instruments from his master piano. Also, drums, saxophone, and guitar, He is a true musician and showman who entertained us with: Raindance, Freedom, We Are, Cry, Worship, Butterfly, and much more. He is a master of the melodica and did many fun songs on the melodica from If You Are Happy and You Know It, My Favorite Things, to a Marvin Gaye song. He was so welcoming and included the audience in the entire show. I did not mention every song, yet these were my highlights. Jon Batiste is an artist with an indomitable spirit and love for life and people. He has charisma, and talents, and brings joy to all he encounters. His band and Desz were incredible as well. Go see Jon Batiste when he comes to your city and State. Remember, I told you so.

  • Amazing beyond words

by Mary Sunshine on 2/27/24Rating: 5 out of 5

I got to know about Jon Batiste on the Colbert show. His beautiful spirit & music genius made a fan out of me. I routinely watch his interviews & music videos on the Internet. I just couldn’t believe it when I saw he was playing at the Sylvee in Madison, WI which is 3 hours from where I live! My daughter & son-in-law flew in from Montana & took me to the concert for my 70th birthday! Beyond words love-filled & wonderful. We hope to see him live again someday, somewhere.

  • We Went to Church

by Mosetta on 2/27/24The Sylvee - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

Every person in that band is so incredibly talented musically with a stage presence for good measure. They played the hits with huge energy and audience participation along for the ride. His female singer (who's name I don't know) is AMAZING. Her voice, her dance, her being has no boundaries. I am SO grateful to have been part of the experience.

  • John BAPTISTE does it again.

    by Tommy J on 2/26/24The Sylvee - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent concert showcasing John’s great talent, and seemingly unlimited energy. The band played one great song after another. Crowd was into it. John had great rapport with the audience. Thoroughly enjoyed myself, despite standing the whole time, which is a bit difficult at my age. Time flies when you’re having fun.

  • Hands down best concert I've been to!

by Sair bear D on 2/26/24The Sylvee - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

I've never felt more moved on every level by music. John is not only a musical genius, but he's also an amazing showman and can make any stage light up with energy. His performance was incredible and brought me to tears. His music really hits home.

  • Jon is worth the hype, multitalented

by Kathy S, from today show with granddaughters on 2/26/24The Sylvee - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

The whole Sylvee venue rocked all night to Jon Batiste He is so multitalented. He is quite the prodigy and you can tell when he sings his multi level . He is so talented on all the instruments. I seen him on the Today show with my granddaughters who did not exactly know him, but loved him after.

by HB on 2/26/24The Sylvee - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

I enjoy watching people enjoy and be good at their craft, especially live music. I love when I get to experience someone taking their craft to another level, a level that I wasn't aware was possible. That is Jon Batiste. His musical knowledge / passion / talents are in another stratosphere. Take any opportunity you can find to go watch and share his magic.
