He's truly remarkable live (and beyond). It was an exceptional concert, at an exceptional venue. The whole evening was A+++++.
Certainly one of our favorite person via Jon’s songs and music. So much fun!!!
Excellent show - uplifting, high energy, he's a virtuoso- a musical celebration spanning his New Orleans roots to classical piano, drums, synthesizers- there's nothing he can't do! Pure joy.
It’s hard to find enough superlatives to describe this concert! As Jon Batiste says, it’s more than a concert it’s a spiritual practice. He is an extraordinarily talented musician and performer, as well as an exceptionally joyful human being with a gift for inspiring and uplifting his audience. Jon’s musicianship seems to know no bounds. I have seen him twice now and can hardly wait until next time!
Jon Batiste is amazing - so happy to see him in NYC! It was a soulful concert - he is an amazing artist !!
Felt sorry for performers during first half of the show. Sound mix was appallingly bad, drowning vocals and instruments. Yet it was brinlliantly clear during the solo portion of the show. For the sake of the artists I hope this was fixed on day two.
Jon Batiste and his band was amazing at Radio City Music Hall. He does not disappoint! His love of his music transcends to his audience… Energized! Great concert not to be missed!
I had never seen Jon Batiste before this show- he is an amazingly talented musician- a very eclectic show, started off as a kind of rock/rap performance, with Batiste playing guitar, dancing, singing, somewhat reminiscent of Prince and Michael Jackson- he then went into a kind of acoustic mode, which included a version of “You Are My Sunshine”- then the stage was emptied except for a grand piano, and he performed an incredible solo performance, which included a jazzed up version of Beethoven’s Fifth- so creative and different- the show ended with a New Orleans style parade which continued out into the street- absolutely amazing
He is a savant in his musical talent and he is able to connect with the audience. He has a “joy” in his performance and everyone feels his love for entertaining and his love of music.
He ain’t no one thing, Batiste is everything - jazz, blues, Orleans, classic, and spiritual. Let the good times roll
Jon Batiste is a modern day Mozart. Really. His ability to weave through genres and entertain people of all ages and backgrounds is truly amazing. I felt like a representation of the entire world was there just enjoying his music and connecting with the joy he and his band exuded from the stage (and into the crowd and through the lobby in an awesome second line!)
Jon Batiste is such an incredible talent and a beautiful, spiritual, uplifting performer. He and his band cover so many different genres and instruments and his voice is so gorgeous. He made the audience feel so connected and included in his songs. Radio City is a special place. Such a magical evening; I’m still smiling!
First, Jon Batiste is an amazingly talented artist who gave his all in a phenomenal show! His talent and deep spiritualism shone through every minute of the evening and the "second line"that concluded the night was a super fun touch! That being said, the sound system left a lot to be desired. Even his solo piano set was marred by mikes that were WAY too hot, resulting in a sound that was muddied and actually hurt the ears during most of the songs, marring an otherwise fantastic performance. It had been decades since I was in Radio City and was quite impressed with the facility, really loving the old-school character of the hall and the comfort of the seats. Addressing those sound system issues would certainly entice me to attend more events there and would have changed my 4 stars to 5.
The first half of the concert was much TOO LOUD and OVER AMPLIFIED! Everyone was standing up, so I could not see Jon Batiste or hear the musicians. I had to look at the screens on the side, but they were also obscured by standing audience members. I was VERY disappointed for the first half of the show. The second half was MUCH MUCH BETTER! I loved when the instrumentalists and Jon stood out in front of the curtain and played music. At this point the audience had settled down and we were able to see and to listen for real. When Jon Batiste simplified his outfit, took off the glitzy white suit, and wore simple T shirt and jeans and sat down at the piano, it was WONDERFUL! It was much more INTIMATE and you could appreciate his gifts and creativity. The concert mellowed out by the end, going from loud and glitzy, to soft, beautiful, and intimate.
Saw Jon before, loved him and saw him again. His joy at performing is contagious! Wonderful to see his many skills…and to see his healthy wife. Especially great was the finish - marching his band out to the street to continue playing for them. Will do this again! Thank you!
Fabulous. Jon Batiste is a genius and a true ambassador for all types of music. I especially liked the scat singing and the piano set. A couple of suggestions. I would have loved to have had a program that had the names of the musicians and their backgrounds. Also, the names of the pieces and an explanation of the synthesizer. I think it would enrich the concert if Jon occasionally said something about the music - how or why it was written, what it means to him. Interacting with the band on the street afterwards was a great experience.
AMAZING!!! Words can’t begin to describe what an incredible show it was!!!
I enjoyed the high energy and dance atmosphere. The audience was eclectic and creative.
Probably one of the Best shows I’ve ever seen..John was Brilliant And his Singers and Band were Fantastic. The end of the show was so Memorable.Would recommend everyone to see him when he returns to New York..
