The whole concert was put together really well He still has it
To finish my review of the Show at The Cabot 2/24. We had been to our first Moody Blues Concert 32 yrs ago at Great Woods in Mansfield MA. So we know the magic that happens When the Moody Blues are on stage. John Lodge brought that Magic last Night we enjoyed his story of how he met Ray had goose bumps when the video of Graham played. We thought John did an outstanding tribute to the band we've followed for 32 plus yrs. Last night we clapped, sang along, joined the standing ovations then finally stood for the last three songs as did most of the people there. John is the energy of the group encouraging singing and clapping. We will absolutely go see John And the 10,000 Lights Band again. The Moody Blues music was more than just songs to us. Thank You John for this, a fitting tribute to The Moody Blues. We really enjoyed ourselves as did everyone else! Sorry proofing this I hit submit before finishing!
We were at The Cabot 2/24 a 250 year old theater in Beverly MA. We literally had the best seats in this theater. So when I say John and The 10,000 Light Years Band with guest vocals by Jon Davison paid tribute to to his band mates to the Moody Blues. The show was an experience, we've been to many Moody Blues concerts the last was the 50th Anniversary show in Boston MA. So when I say
Wonderful that John is still out there giving us the music we love and that he has brought along Jon Davison as special guest to do NIWS. John thanked his fellow Moodies by honoring them all by something they created Graeme with his poetry and Ray by doing TLD but was a bit disappointed he did not give fellow member and good friend, best friends at one time Kudos for NIWS. Jon Davison did an incredible job with it but NOBODY sings it like Justin and he wrote it only when he was 19. Other then that a lovely show.
Great choice of songs. Sound system was decent. Seats could be bigger
John Lodge was great! So good to hear the best of the Moody Blues
As always John Lodges Concert was wonderful! Can't wait for the Next show in my area. Ocean City was a Wonderful Event center!
Was wonderful! Appreciated the meet and greet, the venue was great and the staff of workers was efficient, and the entertainer and his musicians were spectacular! Hoping the Ocean City Music Pier will welcome John back again in the future!
Welcoming and airy venue at OC. Great renditions of songs from the Moodies back catalogue and, in particular, of some tracks from Future Passed. Lots of love/respect for John and, of course, the music from all present. Great Night!
John Lodge was excellent. He played all the Moody Blues hits, plus some deep cuts. I first saw the Moodies in 1983, and although he is much older, he can still sing as well as ever. He has a very good band as well. I have to admit I did miss the great harmonies of the Moodies when John, Justin, and Ray would all sing together, As a huge bonus he gave me his signed bass bass pick after the show!!! Great venue too. No hassles and body searches like when you go to a large venue. It was a great time.
Was a great show in an intimate setting (Ocean City NJ) John's vocals were excellent especially considering how long the Moody's have have been around. His band was excellent, the addition of the cello was superb. The homage to Ray Thomas with Jon Anderson from Yes adding his talent was awesome. Any MB fan would love this.
I enjoyed the performance.....BUT it could not compete with the original Moody Blues which I had been hoping for. John Lodge and his band were more "electric" than the original Moody Blues and the first-class harmonies that the Moody Blues used to perform were not there. John Lodge needs to bring Justin Heywood back on board!
I am 74 yrs old and my daughter came with me to see John Lodge Show. He was terrific and his band players very talented. I will always have a special place in my elderly heart for the the moody Blues sing band. I remember the Moody Blues in the 1960, 1970, 1980 and on.... but then I was in the military traveling and assigned to several bases and really enjoyed all their music, singing and the poetry as spoken by Graem Edge and vocals of Justin Hayward, Ray and other members of the band. Thank you Moody Blues for bringing happiness , love of your beautiful songs and music. May God Bless You All.
Sounded awesome - played the hits - great energy and the crowd was into it
John Lodge and his 10,000 Light Years Band are fantastic! John has assembled a fabulous band (two are former Moody Blues’ musicians - Alan Hewitt and Billy Ashbaugh), plus amazing guitarist Duffy King and cellist Jason Charboneau. I’ve been a fan for decades and would see then over and over again!
John pulled of more than I thought he would, but is riding the glory of yesteryear. The singer from Yes was exceptional doing Nights In White Satin. All in all, not the original Moody Blues, but a nice reflection of the memories.
John Lodge was exceptional and played to the audience. Thanks for keeping the Moodies music alive. Band was great. Cello was a wonderful touch - a great musical fit. Show was energetic and memorable.
The first Moody Blues song I really noticed and got into was John's "Isn't Life Strange," which was on the charts as a single when I worked in a record store in high school in the mid-70s. I was immediately hooked on the band and also on John's incredible writing and performing abilities. This show was one of the best concerts I've ever attended. What a group of musicians -- all I can say is WOW! They skillfully covered an amazing spectrum of his songs -- solo and Moodies. I was hoping -- under the current global situation -- that he would include "One More Time to Live," and he didn't disappoint. And what a beautiful touch to include songs by Ray Thomas, Mike Pinder, Justin Hayward, and the poem Late Lament by Graeme Edge. Thank you a million times for keeping the faith, John!
Ponte Vet your concert hall is a great venue. Up closer in person
