  • John Lodge and band were excellent.

by Wayne on 3/10/23Sandler Center For The Performing Arts - Virginia BeachRating: 5 out of 5

John Lodge of the Moody Blues and his excellent band duplicated the rich sound of an entire orchestra. They played all of the tracks from the Days of Future Passed album and many of their greatest hits. The guest vocalist from the band Yes was amazing. A great show at the Sandler Center (a terrific venue).

Seeing John Lodge again after the passing of founding Moodies Ray Thomas and drummer Graeme Edge was a bittersweet event. It really drove home the point that The Moody Blues 💙 are indeed no more. John has regrouped with some very talented musicians to form his 10,000 light years band and this in it's self allows for the Moody Blues music to continue onward. The concert was very well done. John's Moodies set in the first half and the Days of Future Passed album in its entirety on the second half of the show was a perfect way to combine the music of the Moody Blues from the more recent to harkening back to the album that made them a prog rock icon. I enjoyed the show and the chance to hear the music of The Moody Blues live again. Missed the vocals and guitar of Justin Hayward, the dynamic drumming from Graeme Edge and the beautiful flute and vocals from Ray Thomas....that was so bittersweet.

  • Sound was horrible

by Ben on 3/9/23Sandler Center For The Performing Arts - Virginia BeachRating: 1 out of 5

Great seats. But unfortunately the sound was terrible. John Lodge was over amplified, his backup singers were under amplified. Whoever was mixing the spund failed. The keyboardist was superb though.

  • HE SLAYED

by Syd on 3/7/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I saw John at the Sandler Center on 03-06-23, it was absolutely incredible. I was right in front of him and the music was amazing, the show felt very personal and it was super fun. I ended up catching both the guitarist's pick and John's pick :)

  • John and band rocked!

by Show was great sound was not on 3/5/23Sony Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

John and band rocked most of my fave moody blue songs. I couldn't hear the back up singers but guitar, cello ,keyboards and drums and of course Johns bass were great, however the seating is annoying at sony hall. I had fun

  • So much fun

by Stacey allam on 3/5/23Sony Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

When we saw how many people were waiting to get in we thought we might get seats. Boy were we wrong. When we walked into the auditorium there were tables and rows of seats. We were seated center and close to stage. The waitstaff was overworked and you had to flag them down drinks were strong. Loved the band and was taping my feet to every song a truly fun evening

  • John Lodge Delivers

by Iz on 3/4/23Sony Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

What a great experience, went to his show with my cousin and our sons. Celebrated my dads music with my family and had a great time. John still got it, he brought out plenty of talent to back him up. Overall a great show with great music!

  • Great venue but no voice left

  • John Lodge and his band were great!

by Bruce on 3/1/23The Cabot - BeverlyRating: 5 out of 5

This is the Days of Future Passed Tour so expected them to start with this but was pleasantly surprised that they opened up with a whole bunch of wonderful old songs and played about an hour with songs like "Steppn' in the Slide Zone", "Legend of a Mind" (Timothy Leary's Dead) which my buddy said the rendition of this song was worth the price of admission on its own. Also one of my favorites, "Isn't Life Strange" which I hadn't heard in years, it was beautiful! Then a short break. The second act started with some beautiful visual images on the large screen and then they started "Days of Future Passed" album and played it from start to finish. It was wonderful! They ended up with "Nights in White Satin" of course and everybody left happy and were in a very happy mood. As usual the Cabot did a great job of helping everyone get situated. The Cabot has become my favorited venue and with all of the great acts I am there at least two times a month.

  • John Lodge at the Cabot in Beverly, Mass.

by Lightship Alley on 2/27/23The Cabot - BeverlyRating: 5 out of 5

The Theatre has been restored much to its former glory. Great concert venue. John Lodge is Fantastic, speaking to the full audience. Giving a bit of nostalgia about how each song came about. Still sings great and will Always be part of the Moody Blues! He is right at home on stage as he should be. A Great Performance.

  • The concert was excellent

    by Sandie G. on 2/27/23The Cabot - BeverlyRating: 5 out of 5

The concert venue allowed the viewing fantastic. John Lodge was the best. It was a huge surprise when Jon Davison joined the band for a couple of songs. It was like 2 concerts in one with moody blues and yes combined!!!! So glad we went.

  • John Lodge and The Moody Blues

by Susie on 2/27/23The Cabot - BeverlyRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent Experience ! The seating was wonderful and everyone was so accommodating at the venue especially because my mom is disabled and everyone went out of their way to help especially Dan who is an usher with the Cabot theater. Everyone was so helpful I can’t thank you all enough as this event was a long time in coming to listen to their music in MA since 2015 when I last had great tickets but could not attend as tragedy struck my only sister. Thank you again for a most wonderful night. Hope to see you all again ! Sincerely with best regards to the management and all of your fine employees who are great at coordinating everything to make it a smooth fun and enjoyable experience for my family.

  • Great musicians

by Elwood on 2/27/23The Cabot - BeverlyRating: 4 out of 5

Musicians were fantastic John still charismatic , can tell voice getting weaker. Great way to relive favorites and the album-which was so good to see the musicians master the amazing album experience with a little updates and singers.

Excellent show as John was in great form. Voice and band were excellent. Nice selection of material in the first set. Days of Future Past flowed quite nicely also. This band improves every night. If you get a chance check it out for sure. Rock on Rocker!!!!

  • Awesome Show

by JayDawg Drummer on 2/27/23The Cabot - BeverlyRating: 5 out of 5

John Lodge performed a fantastic show at a beautiful theater. The sound was good, the arrangements were tight, and the evening was splendid! Great to see John Lodge keeping the Moody blues music alive. He also had a special video and audio track from Graeme Edge which was very touching. I would love to see John and Justin tour together as a reunion of the Blue Jays.

  • John Lodge keeps the Moody Blues Alive

by Rpelley on 2/27/23The Cabot - BeverlyRating: 5 out of 5

John Lodge, longtime bassist, singer and songwriter of the Moody Blues, is on tour with his own band. The first half of the show consists of his greatest hits (Slide Zone, Isn't Life Strange, Gemini Dream, Singer on a Rock and Roll Band, etc). These are the Moodys' rocking hits That's what John does best....Rock!! After a brief interlude, the second part of this concert is the Moody Blues "Days of Future Past" played in it's entirety. Complete with the recorded voice Graeme Edge.... "Breathe deep the gathering gloom". The band has done such a magnificent job re-creating the sounds and feel of the old album. I just loved it! And so will you!!!
