Joel McHale at the HorseShoe Casino in Cincinnati,

by MrBobD on 4/22/13The Pavilion at Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati - Cincinnati

We really enjoyed the show despite the poor quality of the "showroom" (see comments below). Although, I really did not like Brooks McBeth that much Joel McHale was fantastic. He did not disappoint. The show started 20 minutes late but they just went longer. Overall, I would definitely see Joel again if given the opportunity. I gave the show overall a four because I didn't care for the "lead-in" comedian.

    McHale Yes, Horseshoe No

by MPH513 on 4/22/13The Pavilion at Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati - Cincinnati

Joel McHale was hilarious. If you like the brand of pop culture humor he dishes on The Soup, then you will love his stand-up show. Joel is smart, clever and knows how to keep the show moving along. His brand of humor is also largely unoffensive and much less crass than most comics. Joel's opening act was fair. I forget the guys name now, but the act included a lot of stereotype jokes that were probably edgy in 1995, but seemed insensitive and borderline racist in 2013. Maybe I am just getting older... The real probably was "The Pavilion at Horseshoe". This is not a pavilion, but rather a larger hotel-like ballroom with rows and rows of folding chairs (Joel devoted a good five minutes of his act mocking the venue). It is all flat, so if you are in the back or side you have a hard time seeing the act. The chairs are too close together--especially for the myriad of comped obese individuals who were in attendance. Also, when I ordered tickets almost a month in advance there was very little available. However, when we got there there were many many empty seats in prime locations (that I would have gladly purchased). My assumption is that the Horseshoe reserves the best seats for its gambling patrons. This is unfortunate because really only the front middle section is worth paying money to sit in. It also means that many of the people in attendance really did not know who Joel McHale was or could follow his pop culture references (he mocked those people as well). The bottom line is that if you can go anywhere else to see a show you should. If you have to see a show at the Horseshoe you want those comped tickets in the front middle section.

    Joel McHale was unforgetable

by JohnnyJameson on 4/22/13The Pavilion at Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati - Cincinnati

My wife and I have watched Joel on the Soup and Community for years. This is the first time we were able to see him in person and it was amazing. It was a little sureal at first, but Joel is so funny and the time flew by.

    1/2 Soup 1/2 Original Comedy

by SirIm on 2/27/13Towson Center Arena - Towson

Overall the show was ok. First of all I was expecting more opening acts than just one. The opening act dude was ok. I forgot what his name was. Second, the first 30-45 mins of Joel McHale's stand up was like watching an episode of the Soup which I love, but he recycled too many jokes from the show. So it was like watching a re-run of the Soup. The second half of his stand up was new and original when he started talking about his life and it was pretty good. I would recommend the show because Joel McHale from the Soup is performing but I wouldn't say his act is grade A.

Joel was great with an intimate crowd

by RRococo69 on 2/26/13Towson Center Arena - Towson

Joel came on stage with energy...taller than I thought. He went right into the hatred E does, Secrest, etc with passion...funny! Made fun of the venue-Towson-and later got into his recent trials as a father...he's still cool and edgy...

Joel McHale delivered-and I want more!

by Brooke83 on 6/14/12Silver Legacy Casino - Reno

My bf & I recently caught his show at the Silver Legacy Casino in Reno on June 1. We've watched The Soup since it began, and we are also big fans of his show "Community". Joel always keeps me in tears with his witty & spot on commentary, especially about celebrities. I loved hearing about his real life antics with his family. He is exactly the type of performer I expected him to be-hilarious, charming, and witty. It was a great venue and I hope he comes this way again. I was a little disappointed that he didn't stick around for a photo op, but I did manage to find his manager and get an autograph

Since we don't watch television, Joel McHale was a new name and face to us. Unfortunately, the first two-thirds of his act also had to do with television, and so we missed many gags. However, when he moved on to the common topic of family life with a small child, we thought he was very funny and on target.

    Best Comedy Show I've Seen

by NicZak on 6/13/12Silver Legacy Casino - Reno

I was really impressed with Joel and his opening act. Both were incredibly funny, entertaining and did a good job of engaging with the audience w/o being obnoxious. I wasn't sure what to expect from Joel's tour but it was the perfect mix of witty banter that we all know and love from The Soup and just plain funny material. His observational humor was really solid as well and he even managed to refer to things in the local news that occurred the morning of the show. A top notch performer and a top notch comedian, Joel is far better in person than he is on either of his TV shows.

Joel McHale is a surprisingly talented Stand-up

by BackSlashJeff on 6/11/12Casino Rama - Rama

I've had mixed experience with TV personalities that do stand-up tours. Joel was exceptional! His material on The Soup went into the gutter on a regular basis so I was concerned that his act might spend too much time on comedy from disgust but it was primarily (although not completely) family friendly and he didn't have to go into the disgusting because he's genuinely talented!

    Joel McHale was AWESOME !!!!!

    by seadogs15 on 5/3/12Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I love him on the Soup...this was an extension of his experiences with the lunatics on reality TV as well as with his sit-com Community. He also related stories about his family, particularly his crazy dad and young children. It was an animated 90+ minutes of belly laughs.

Joel did an awesome job. He tied in The Soup, but didn't focus strictlly on it. The personal family items were very funny.

    Great Set!

    by Cosmo765 on 5/3/12Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Joel was great! Did close to 90 minutes. Poked fun at Ryan Seacrest and the Kardashians(two of my favorite targets, so he easily won me over). Also talked a good deal about his family and personal life. Very charismatic and appealing. A very solid night of comedy!

    Joel...is...AWESOME

by Dirac on 5/2/12Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Great set. Some of his best stuff comes out when discussing his family, not just his celebrity digs. Great performer who can handle the crowd.

    Joel McHale

by JCLacx on 5/2/12Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Not at all funny! We love Joel McHale on the Soup and expected him to put on a good show but we were dead wrong! He spent most of his act talking about tv shows, like he does on the soup, except there were no writers to make him funny! We didn't pay to see a non-funny version of the soup! Very disappointed! Don't waste your money!!!
