About

Best known for his powerful guitar licks, Joe Walsh has entertained the masses and captivated his peers for more than three decades with such classics as “Funk #49,” “Walk Away,” “Life’s Been Good,” and “Ordinary Average Guy.” In 1969 Walsh found success with The James Gang, followed by a stint with Barnstorm, a trio he founded.  In 1973 Joe released his first solo album, which proved him a legitimate solo act with a limitless career on the horizon. By 1975 he joined The Eagles, bringing a harder rock sound to the group with the acclaimed Hotel California, The Long Run and Eagles Live.

In 1994, after a 14-year hiatus and several solo albums, The Eagles released Hell Freezes Over, which reached #1 on the Billboard charts and sparked one of the most successful tours in music history. And in 1998 The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the first year they were nominated. Walsh performed at the 2012 Grammy’s with Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and Dave Grohl and at the 2012 MusiCares event honoring Paul McCartney. That June Walsh released Analog Man, his first solo album in 20 years, performing solo shows around the world to support it throughout that year. In 2013 the award winning The History of The Eagles showcased at Sundance, the two part authorized documentary, and in February it aired on Showtime. In conjunction with the April release onto DVD the Eagles began their extensive The History of The Eagles World Tour. On February 9 2014 Walsh was featured in several songs on the CBS Special The Night The Changed America: A Grammy Salute to The Beatles. In 2014 Walsh played select solo shows as well as with the Eagles on The History of The Eagles World Tour, with new dates continuing throughout 2015.  In April 2015 Walsh performed with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr for Starr’s Induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, later broadcast on HBO. In May 2015 Walsh joined Eddie Vedder and Pete Townsend for an All Star Celebration of The Who’s music to benefit Teen Cancer America.

I have seen the James Gang a few times years ago, and think they sound even better now. So glad to go to the concert and brought back lots of memories. The Ohio lineup was a great choice!

by Dani on 11/16/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

The James Gang and Joe Walsh are one of my all time favorites, seeing them live was an amazing experience. I'm also a huge fan of The Black Keys and this was my third time seeing them this year, they always put on a great show. I lucked into 4th row center seats and it was awesome. Loved the entire show. Thank you Joe and all involved in this worthy cause.

This was a possible once in a lifetime show. Enjoyed all of the Ohio bands as they all brought their A-game in what was a very worthy charitable cause. Thanks and s/o to everyone involved and thank you, everyday, to our Veterans.

    Great show

    by bfan99 on 11/16/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

Thought I was back in the 60’s with seeing multiple bands in one night. OSU marching band got the crowd going, all the bands were great with nine inch nails getting the best response. Seen Joe with James Gang, eagles, solo over the years and he was as entertaining as always. Highlight was Funk 49 with Dave Grohl and Head like a hole by nine inch nails! Long show, started at 6 and ended at midnight.

Joe still rocks it! Great lineup!

by Marc V on 11/16/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

I didn’t know The Breeders were still performing, but they were solid. Dave Grohl joined them for a song too! Black Keys played all their hits, really fine performance. Nine Inch Nails were their usual loud, high-energy industrial jam, played all their hits except “Closer.” Amazing set and even though they are mostly a studio band, they sounded great live. They rocked the joint, but didn’t seem complete without “Closer.” Dave Grohl joined Joe Walsh and the James Gang both on his guitar and on the drum kit for a few songs, but was more of a cameo, no Foo stuff, but still cool just by being there. Joe clearly still has the stuff to keep up with the young guys. They played all the James Gang and the Joe Walsh solo hits, and Joe had the witty banter in between songs. Great cause- Vetaid is a benefit for the vet charities in Ohio. Between sets, soldiers and organizers gave moving stories and testimonies and made the crowd feel very happy that their money really helped out veterans! Well worth it, and a fun evening! I hope Joe puts another one of these together!

    Simply the BEST

by Gen on 11/16/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

I have a debilitating disease and get very little enjoyment from life these days. The Vetaid concert put on by Joe Walsh and Friends was the absolute BEST present I will ever receive for Christmas. For 5 hours I was able to live solely in the moment and it was very therapeutic. I would love to see this become an annual event. Thanks to all of the phenomenal musicians who gifted us with their talent.

    INCREDIBLE!!

by Janet from Northern NY on 11/16/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

Drove 550 miles to see this show, going MAINLY because Dave Grohl was the special guest, but every last second of it was amazing. I didn't know the Breeders, what a surprise. I love Joe anyway, love the Black Keys, and I think Trent Reznor is a musical genius, but didn't know how a NIN concert might be. It did NOT DISAPPOINT!! Oh my God, 6 hours of sheer emotion. The vets and their stories brought tears to my eyes each time, sometimes straight down my cheeks. Joe's stepson Christian was awesome as emcee as well, he seems to be a sweetheart. It was simply the best time and worth the drive from Northern NY (Canadian border northern NY).

After asking at one of the doors if I could get back in ,

by Unhappy Robin on 11/16/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

This concert I went to with my son who just loves Joe Walsh like his mom. Planning on this trip and making it a day trip 10 hrs Total in driving. After a couple sets I needed to go get some medicine in the car. Going down the steps the lady at the bottom said we could get back in the front door after showing our tickets. To say the least they did not let us back in and argued that no one told us that basically called us liers... Not happy

    Poor sound permeated this event

by J Stew on 11/16/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

The overall sound quality was bad. Other than NIN, the vocal sound quality was poor especially when instruments were being played while singing.

    Great show!

by Jay on 11/16/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

This was an excellent show from start to finish. Joe Walsh was terrific! First time seeing the Black Keys and Nine Inch Nails and loved them both. David Grohl was also great. The cause was wonderful, and they did a nice job featuring individual veterans and organizations within the music. We're so glad we went.
