JO DEE MESSINA IN CONCERT:
Country music just wouldn't be the same without Jo Dee Messina's spunky collection of hits and trademark red hair. Her catchy country tunes have dominated the charts since the '90s, and they're even more compelling live. Whether she's showcasing her vocal prowess on hits like "Head Carolina, Tails California" or sharing her spirited attitude with adoring concertgoers, Messina definitely knows how to get the crowd going, leading fans in fun sing-alongs and telling stories along the way. With the 2014 release of Me, her first new album in almost 10 years, Messina has fans fired up for her highly anticipated upcoming tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
A Massachusetts native, Jo Dee Messina started out singing in local clubs with her siblings, eventually attracting the attention of Curb Records and moving to Nashville. Her solo career kicked off in 1996 with her widely successful self-titled debut, which reached No. 5 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart and produced two Top Ten singles. I'm Alright followed two years later and generated significant buzz with three No. 1 hits, ultimately going double platinum in the US. Since then, she's collaborated with Tim McGraw, toured with legends George Strait and The Judds, and sold over five million albums. With the desire to truly connect her fans to her music, Messina launched a Kickstarter campaign to support her 2014 album, reaching her goal in just 30 days due to her extremely dedicated fan base. Jo Dee Messina will treat audiences to her classics as well as new material from her fifth studio album Me on a string of upcoming shows.

Good Times, Nice Place, Great Music. Some of Jo Dee's stories, in-between songs, were a little long but, they were interesting.
Show was good, but Jo Dee Messina talked too much and sang too little.
What awesome talents. Bucky was great and I wish him much success. Jo Dee was great as well. I will be anxiously awaiting more releases from her. That voice was soo good! Glad I got to see both.
The show was amazing! I would love to see them both again in the dells area. The concert was worth the money. Getting seats when we arrived on the other hand, was not where we wanted. They told us that we could just sit wherever. It was almost concert time cause we own a farm and cows had to be done before we came. We found ourselves in the very bad of the concert. That's not where we thought we would be seeing the concert from.
My wife and I had never seen Jo Dee Messina in concert before. The show was awesome and she did not disappoint the audience.
Jo Dee Messina put on an incredible show!!! As she said at the start of the show, she is NOT a Diva!! Thank God....There are enough of those out there and I wouldn't pay to see them! Jo Dee was very personable, she shared stories with us about herself as well as to why she wrote certain songs. When her show was over, you felt like you just had the best visit with a dear ole' friend. I look forward to the next "visit"!
The concert was one of the best I have ever been to. Jo Dee Messina and her band was just no the only reason for an awesome concert, but the venue was also a plus. I love table and chair style concerts over the heavy crowds standing and jumping in front of your line of site. Turning Stone Casino would be foolish not to invite her back next year. I certainly would attend with my fiance again.
Loved the show .The seats were great. Love her senese of humor and down to earth personality
Jo Dee Messina has one of the best voices I've ever heard live. Her vocal range is just out of this world and her songs suit her extremely well. Thank You for sharing your gift with everyone and making country music such a wonderful genre to listen to. I also liked her personal stories that helped contibute to some of her songs.
I loved Jo Dee Messina's music from the moment I heard it & was very excited to see her in person! I planned a trip around this concert and drove to Verona NY from Ohio She has an amazing voice and her new songs that will be coming out in a few months are dynamite. The only thing I wasn't crazy about - and coming from another woman it should tell you something - there was way too much talking & stories - that detracted from the concert and the sheer enjoyment of hearing her music live. There's a kind of momentum and excitement that builds and whenever there is a break or TOO MUCH talking, it really is anti-climactic. I enjoyed hearing about Jo Dee's life but the key phrase here would definitely be "less is more."
Jo Dee Messina has a wonderful voice! She was singing at a nice small venue at Turning Stone Casino un Central NY. So tell me why she was told she had to end her show because there was a curfew? We spent $45 per tiicket plus the Ticketmaster fees, yet only got about 1 hour and ten minutes of Jo Dee Messina. She was chatting with the audience and has a great stage presence, but that chatting took away from performance time. The acoustics and sound mix swere great- often a problem at some venues. The place was intimate and enjoyable. But we left there wondering why she wasn't allowed to give the customers a real full show? If you go, don't expect to get the same amount of the performer as at other venues. Apparently Turning Stone wanted the attendees to spend money in their smoke-filled stinky smelly casino instead of enjoying the show for more than 70 minutes.
Great concert. Excellent voice. Great with the crowd
Great concert, Diamond Rio and Jody Messina was great!!!! the local opening act was terrible. they could not get done fast enough. To long of time for set-up between Diamond Rio and Jo Dee
JoDee is an amazing singer and performer! She did a cover of Aretha's Natural Woman that blew me away. Go see her.
The venue is great. With only 1700 people, there isn't a bad seat in the house and it allows for a very intimate performance. This was one of her first concerts getting back on the road after having her second child. The performance was excellent. Jo Dee Messina's voice was very strong and sounded great, even though she had lost her voice the night before. She came out strong with many of her hits right off the back (Heads Carolina, Tails California, I'm Alright, Bye Bye). During the concert she also told a lot of funny stories. The only negative in the night was at the end of the concert. During an interactive Q&A session with the audience, the venue management broke in and said she had to finish up with her last song because there was a curfew at 9:30. This was a surprise to the band, who apologized and ended early. This was a major mistake by the Grove management. It cut the concert to only 90 minutes and since the performer wasn't informed in advance, she wasn't able to finish her whole set.
Amazing concert. Her voice was perfect. Great sound. Great venue. She is a MUST to see in concert!!! A true super star!
Jo Dee is not only an amazing artist but also a great entertainer. She is very interactive with the audience and funny too! I always love seeing her. I especially loved the new songs that she played that will be on her album due out later this year. I think that "A Woman's Rant" will definitely be at the top of the charts.
I love the acoustic type concerts at TPAC. You can actually hear the great voices and instruments. Both Billy Dean and Jo Dee Messina did fantastic. Both have amazing voices. I felt bad for Jo Dee fighting a cough all evening but, boy she can still sing! I enjoyed the interaction but there were a couple times it was a little long and I would have liked a few more songs. I wondered if the cough didn't have something to do with that. I also love it when artists come out for autographs. Jo Dee stayed out after the concert to sign. I wish Billy Dean would have come out also.
Whether you are a country music fan or not, this is a show for everyone! Jo Dee is a fan's performer. She interacts with the audience, let's the crowd get to know her and asks for requests. Great show! She also provides a fantastic message, one that I am proud to have my 13 year old daughter hear, and that is to dream big, don't listen to all those people who will tell you why your dreams aren't possible and be the best you that you can be. I'd definitely pay to see her again.
She had a cold but it was a unique experience, Very nice.
