About

Jeff Tweedy, founding member and frontman of Wilco, is one of contemporary music's most respected songwriters and performers. In addition to 13 Wilco albums, he has released four solo albums and authored three New York Times bestsellers. • Live debut of TWEEDY!

by rickker999 on 6/9/14The Jack White Theatre - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

What had been billed as an acoustic evening with Jeff Tweedy actually became the live debut of his new project simply titled: Tweedy. The first half of the set consisted of brand new untested material from the upcoming Tweedy album. The second half was solo acoustic Jeff performing songs from Loose Fur, Uncle Tupelo and Wilco (along with a Mavis Staples cover).

  • Jeff Tweedy was AMAZING!

by BenYoung on 6/9/14The Jack White Theatre - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Jeff Tweedy was amazing and performed new songs from the upcoming release of TWEEDY! Incredible show with his son Spencer on drums! He never disappoints!

  • Jeff Tweedy solo preview

by CaptRock on 6/9/14The Jack White Theatre - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

Jeff Tweedy debuted an hour's worth of new songs from his upcoming solo album. They were so good that I was angry that he is withholding this material from Wilco. The second hour, Jeff rocked the hits.

  • Tweedy Detroit Show

by MarkusJ on 6/8/14The Jack White Theatre - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Jeff Tweedy has written and assembled another nice batch of songs and his band on this tour, including his son, Spencer, did a great job getting them across to the audience in this first show of his summer tour. Some will say that, at times, they sounded like Wilco, but knowledgeable fans will hear just how much Jeff influences the sound of Wilco. I'd see this show again if I had the chance.

  • Horrible opening act!!

by Wayfarer1 on 6/8/14The Jack White Theatre - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

Tweedy was absolutely incredible! His performance is worth 6 or 7 stars. The comedian that opened for him was appalling and offensive without any humor to justify it. We left the auditorium until he was finished. There were children in the audience and there was absolutely no indication as to the adult nature of his act. This was an enormous oversight in the part of whoever was responsible for booking.

Meh. Good songs, but just alright overall entertainment.

  • Jeff Tweedy - Intimate & Great Sound Quality

by BurningSun on 12/16/13The Fillmore - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Really enjoyed Jeff Tweedy's solo performance at this venue. Small and intimate. Saw Wilco a few times in bigger venues and the sound sometimes seemed off. Only wish I had gone to the Wednesday show -- loved the songs on that setlist more. But nevertheless, great concert. I wish he did solo tours more often.

Jeff Tweedy is an amazing musician and performer and I would see him (and I do) again and again and again.

  • Jeff Tweedy is my man

    by Tweedy13 on 12/9/13Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 4 out of 5

Great show, it was the first so he was still warming up. I feel like the idiot in the front row might have put him off and that's why we got the shortest set list of the tour so far. Jeff is always amazing.

  • Amazing Show, Sub-Par Crowd

by LegallyInsignificant on 12/6/13Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

Jeff Tweedy is amazing. He played about two dozen songs. These songs ranged from Uncle Tupelo and Wilco songs to covers of other artists. He really put his all into each song and his guitar-playing is great. The crowd however was another thing. One guy flashed his camera directly in my eyes. Another guy kept yelling during the whole concert. A family carried on a conversation the whole time. In short, go see Jeff Tweedy if you can, but avoid the Uptown Theater, as it seems to attract rude clientele.

  • Tweedy at his best!

    by Cassie23 on 12/6/13Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

Great show...Jeff Tweedy sounded great . His acoustic performance was just beautiful! The show could have been even more enjoyable if people could ever just shut up for two hours and stay put in their seats!

  • Jeff Tweedy at the Uptown

by Mrdewolf on 12/6/13Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 4 out of 5

Great show, this is the first time I have seen Jeff Tweedy in concert. He plays with heart and soul in every song. The only downside to the show was the jerk up front that insisted on yelling out. It got so bad Jeff had to address the guy directly and call him out. To anyone going to see a singer songwriter in concert, shut up and listen! Clap and cheer at the end of the song! Yelling out in the middle of someone playing is RUDE, please stop and let the rest of the crowd enjoy the show, its not about you!

  • Tweedy rocked!

by waylonjo on 12/6/13Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

Classic Tweedy came to Kansas City. He was irreverent, funny, cranky and amazing. The set list was very cool and had songs for "old" fans and new fans. I could see his show again and again.

  • Great - glad we made the trip!

by droidmaker on 12/6/13Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 4 out of 5

We drove up from Tulsa to see our first Jeff Tweedy solo show. I've been a Wilco fan for years, so I was really looking forward to it. To say I wasn't disappointed would be a huge understatement. It was an excellent show with an expansive selection of songs! The crowd was great as well. I'll definitely be making the trek back to the Uptown again!

  • Jeff Tweedy is a Poet!

by Mamavalveeta03 on 4/6/11Mayo Civic Center Presentation Hall - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

Jeff Tweedy is an American poet and should be recognized as one. Just Jeff, no Wilco, and an assortment of acoustic guitars. The sound was excellent for the Mayo Civic Ctr. Presentation Hall space...not a bad seat in the house, really. I had always read that Jeff could be pretty surly and disagreeable onstage, but post-addiction treatment, he is FUNNY! He was sociable, hilariously funny, witty and his banter with audience members made the show unforgettable. I have seen Jeff Tweedy 3 times now, and I would go again in a heartbeat. He gets 5 stars from me!

  • Totally awesome

by DrNolan on 4/1/11Mayo Civic Center Presentation Hall - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

It was great to hear a wide variety of Tweedy's songs done acoustically. Also he really interacts with the crowd. Very funny.

  • One-man band.

by Northrup on 4/1/11Mayo Civic Center Presentation Hall - RochesterRating: 4 out of 5

There aren't many other musical performers who can stand alone and captivate an audience like Tweedy can, and did. Thoughtful solo variations of Wilco and Uncle Tupelo classics. Felt like a rare glimpse into the processes and talents of a songwriter.

  • An awsome guitar god

by Klink8 on 4/1/11Mayo Civic Center Presentation Hall - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

The show was brilliant, the crowd was rowdy, and Jeff grabbed us by our souls and lead us on an adventure through life and love. By the end of the show we all wanted to sing along but were crippled from his intensity...... Invaginary friends not withstanding as well ;)

  • Acoustic Tweedy - can't wait to do it again!

by sopper6175 on 3/31/11Mayo Civic Center Presentation Hall - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

My first Jeff Tweedy show - won't be my last. I was surprised to see that Minneapolis/St Paul were overlooked in favor of Rochester, and it seemed like a far share of attendees had driven down from Mpls also. Venue was not the coolest, but the sound system was solid and the 'civic' setting actually allowed greater focus on the acoustic performance. Once Tweedy took the stage, he owned it. What a great performer! The setlist covered Uncle Tupelo and early Wilco to the most recent songs, seemingly perfect for fans new and old. I am a newer fan and immediately went home to recreate the setlist and relive the concert. Great show!
