  • Turfway ain't never gonna change

by Tripod on 3/27/25Turfway Park - FlorenceRating: 3 out of 5

Jeff Ruby stakes. Typical Turfway fashion, no concern for the people who are there all year, keeping the lights on for them. All about the people who come there once a year. Not enough betting machines, no one working then, hard to see, only one set of porta - johns. All the way on the other side of the hospital tent. Raised beer prices and food prices, just a total joke. If it wasn't for my love of the sport and my love for horses and some of my best friends, I would not go to that hell hole ever again.

  • Adult Amusement Park

by Kennytucky on 3/25/25Turfway Park - FlorenceRating: 5 out of 5

Really a fun day w/close access to horses in paddock before races & as they broke out of the gate. Food & drink prices were a great value, too!

  • Better than last yr but needs improvement

by LollyJP on 3/25/25Turfway Park - FlorenceRating: 2 out of 5

We were in the general admission tent which was larger than last year. Not enough TV screens to view the races & what they had was way too small to see. Tables were set up but chairs too close. Very difficult to move around or get out & about. Betting booths seemed to move much faster than last year

  • Outstanding VIP Tickets

by MyOldKentuckyHome on 2/16/25Rating: 5 out of 5

I’ve attended the last two Jeff Ruby days. My experience has been outstanding. All you can eat Jeff Ruby buffet (if you’ve never been to a Jeff Rubys restaurant, take a look at the menu/pricing then think about getting an “All you can eat”), everyone dressed up for the big day, wonderful racing, etc etc. General Admission tickets are outdoors in late March so don’t expect warmth….. I plan on attending every year!

  • Expensive and Disappointed

by Tom on 4/9/24Turfway Park - FlorenceRating: 3 out of 5

Price was outrageous this year. Been going to the event since it was Jim Beam Stakes. Overpriced for what we paid for the experience. No easy access to the track. Table service was mediocre at best. No signature green drink. We find out the next day about a flyer for “Friends and Family” the price was $99 after 2 pm. What did my extra money get me?

  • Poor accommodations

by Bobby on 3/29/24Turfway Park - FlorenceRating: 1 out of 5

Poor accommodations for general admission. We went to Turfway a week before the Jeff Ruby Steak Racing Event to purchase general admission tickets and were told to come back the day of the race as it would only be $20, however on the day of the race they were $30! It was pretty chilly and windy and the only tent available to general admission ticket holders was very small. We counted 6 tables of 10 all occupied and no room to even stand while the band was playing. There were some picnic tables outside the tent but again very limited seating. Our group ended up standing the entire time, and it was miserable. Thank goodness for the casino which gave us a place to get warm and use the restroom but not sure we will attend this event again.

  • Accommodating for general admission

by Lollypop on 3/27/24Turfway Park - FlorenceRating: 2 out of 5

The event was pretty much as always. The accommodations for the general admission tickets left a lot to be desired. Could have been set up much better-not enough room or seating. Since it was a horse race no betting terminals inside. Very disappointed in the accommodations. Not sure if I will attend next year

  • Casino vs horse racing

by Tripod on 3/26/24Turfway Park - FlorenceRating: 3 out of 5

As a lifelong horse racing advocate, it is disheartening to see The new Turfway/ Churchill Downs owned racetrack go to hell. The racetrack used to be fun to attend, now all they are worried about is the casino. The Jeff Ruby stakes was a joke. No concern for the people who are at the track all year. Keeping everyone who would not pay $400 dollars to go inside, out in the cold with one tent that held 100-150 people and no heaters even though they had some to use. The Casino makes$400 million a year while the track only makes $4.1 million, i get the business of it, but quit faking it and using the horse's to get your millions at the casino .. Ticketmaster was great no issues with you.

  • Way too much $$$ for what you get

by Steve on 3/26/24Turfway Park - FlorenceRating: 3 out of 5

$30 for a race ticket, and it's outside? Keeneland is half that price for Bluegrass Stakes day, and they have a full menu and bar options to offer. Very limited food and drink options, and just way too expensive for Turfway Park. I love the place, but i wont go back at this price.
