The experience was great— easy check in — bourbon and souvenir glass served as entering— decorations and atmosphere was great. Had such a fun time, but the price is the only reason I dropped a star from my review—For the price point was expecting some Steak and lobster, that being said— the food was delicious and it was a wonderful experience— ticket price was outrageous.
Not enough tents or heaters outside for the weather.
Parking? Easy in and out, not crowded once inside, great service for eating, drinking & gambling… I’ll be back next year with more people
The Jeff Ruby experience was first class, from the welcome drink, room set up, great service and food! Will definitely get a full table next year
The decor was awesome, wait staff welcomed us with a collector rock glass with a shot of bourbon. And, a complimentary photo on the way into the event center. Wait staff for the tables did an amazing job, as the event was crowded but they calmly managed the serving of appetizers and drinks. Food on the buffet was outstanding, and the service remained available for most of the afternoon which was a wonderful touch. I have been to similar types of events in the past where the food was not available throughout the afternoon. I would absolutely do this event again!
Over all it was a fun event. The food was Jeff Ruby what else do I have to say!! The drinks were great!! Only problem I had was the event tables were to close!! Always having to move or get bumped while standing or sitting at table.
Will do again next year Food good for a buffet..staff outstanding...expensive but definitely worth it!!
Great event and fun, welcomed with some bourbon, great service, great event, Jeff Ruby’s and Turfway did a great job. VIP price tag worth it, only thing would make it better is if I won — lol— had a great time and will do it again
No thought whatsoever for general admission ticket holders. From betting machines that didn't work to vendors that couldn't process orders. Just a few examples of how this event couldn't care less about the "regular " patron. Will never attend again
Giving Turfway a big thumbs down on turning a racetrack into a dud! Maybe if we paid $250 to sit in a large room it would’ve been better, the $25 to be in General Population was a waste of $25 - Will not be going back to Turfway to watch this event in future. I’ll watch on TV in a bar someplace else.
Turfway only allows views of the track when you are outside or you spend hundreds of dollars to be in the conference room. To get inside the building to escape the weather, you had to walk around the building to the front door. No access from the train unless you spent hundreds of dollars. Not enough space or seats and very crammed in the one tent they provided. Betting machines required an attendant to be present. The machines couldn’t read winners or vouchers so you needed someone to type in the 12-16 digit code on the ticket.
We started going to this event when the tickets were $125 a piece. Certainly, since Ruby has taken it over, the quality of food has improved exponentially, but really that’s about it. The wine was awful without any option to purchase something nicer. The ticket prices have doubled but the event doesn’t justify it. For $250 a person, please, for the love of God, offer something more than the swill of Woodbridge. Don’t think we’ll be back.
