Jay Pharoah returned to Studio 8H for his second season on Saturday Night Live. Pharoah is most known for his wide array of uncanny celebrity impressions including Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Denzel Washington and Kanye West. Pharoah developed his comedy skills at a young age in local comedy clubs. He went on to tour in the UK, the US, and Montreal, and participated in the sketch comedy series, "Charlie Murphy's Crash Comedy." Pharoah previously performed stand-up on BET's "One Mic Stand" and was the star of the 2010 BET Awards short, "The Package." He can soon be seen alongside Greta Gerwig, Bill Pullman, and Debra Winger in Fox Searchlight's upcoming feature "Lola Versus."
Originally from Virginia, Pharoah currently resides in New York City.
So so funny. Opening act was great, really got the crowd in the right mood. Jay, as expected, was phenomenal, stringing together different pieces and impersonations. At times it did get a bit touchy (Caitlyn/Bruce Jenner) but overall it was a hilarious show, would see it again in a heartbeat.
Both Jay and AJ Foster who opened for him were hilarious! Great venue and location, as well!
I gotta say, I didn't know what kind of show Jay Pharoah would do since I had only seen him on SNL before, and that is mostly scripted. Here he seemed to have a certain act in place, and certain impressions and jokes to make, but he improvised a lot, played with the audience and gave us a pretty awesome performance. I have to also acknowledge the guy who opened for him. Really funny, a lot more scripted but great jokes.
Lot's of laughs! Jay does great impersonations! Obama and Eddie Murphy were right on.
Jay puts his heart into his show. He is very genuine and that creates a real connection during the show. His jokes were funny and his impersonations are hysterical.
Jay rocked it - great show! The only negative was the idiots that kept yellin stupid sh*t out of the crowd, but huge props to Jay for how he handled them and continued on with his set
When the opener is good you know its going to be a good show! (AJ) Jay Pharoah is amazing! This is the 3rd time Ive come out to see him and it is never the same material. The voice impressions are ALWAYS 100% spot on accurate, you never know who is gonna be on stage next! Definitely comic mastermind!

I loved the show. Jay's jokes were more funny then I expected. Great impression of so many comedian.
I loved his show! While it didn't last too long, it was still completely worth it. He was beyond funny and interacted with the audience so well you felt really connected. He was lively, silly and even got a bit serious to share some of his insight. I would see him perform again in a heartbeat. I loved it

The entire show was hilarious! Jay was very very funny with all his impersonations from SNL - Kept us laughing the entire time.
It was a good show. The opening acts did a good job.
Line-up was great. All three comedians kept us laughing throughout the ~2 hour show. Reggie Steele was a welcomed surprise. Jay was energetic, funny and kept us engaged. Good stuff!. The staff at Cobb's did a great job of getting our drinks and food very quickly throughout the night. Service was excellent.

Funniest comedy show I have ever been to!! My face hurt afterwards from laughing so hard. Would definitely go see again. The opener was funny too!

Jay Pharoah was extremely funny! Made great impersonations and brought in pop culture to his skit. Kept the audience engaged and would recommend to anyone!

Jay Pharoah is the funniest comedian to come through the Wilbur Theater in a While. He sets up his jokes nicely and his impersonations are amazing.
