Deon Cole is a comedian, writer, and actor, who can currently be seen in the critically acclaimed drama series, AVERAGE JOE, for BET+.
Deon can be seen in Jeymes Samuels' THE HARDER THEY FALL, for Netflix, opposite Idris Elba and Regina King. He can also be seen in Kenya Barris' YOU PEOPLE, for Netflix, opposite Eddie Murphy. Next up Deon stars in Amblin/Warner Bros. adaptation of THE COLOR PURPLE, opposite Taraji P. Henson and Colman Domingo, directed by Blitz Bazawule.
Deon can also be seen as Charlie on ABC's BLACK-ISH and Freeform's GROWNISH. For his work on BLACK-ISH, Deon won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series three times in a row at the 2020, 2021 & 2022 NAACP Image Awards. Previously, he starred as Detective Daniel "DJ" Tanner on the TBS comedy ANGIE TRIBECA opposite Rashida Jones, and co-starred in the Ice Cube led BARBERSHOP film series.
In standup, Deon recently released his latest one-hour special for Netflix, CHARLEEN'S BOY. His last special, COLE HEARTED, also for Netflix, was released in 2019 after the success of his appearance in Netflix's THE STANDUPS. His previous one-hour special, DEON COLE'S: COLE BLOODED SEMINAR was shot for Comedy Central. His stand-up documentary, WORKIN' IT OUT, debuted exclusively on Netflix is a Joke's Youtube channel, and has garnered 6 million views on social media, and over 2 million views on Youtube.
Deon Cole kept the laughter flowing and he also had a decent warmup act before him. My only complaint is for the Los Angeles theater. It needs renovation. I sat in the Mezz far left which should have been a great view but was obstructed by decor. The walk down was very steep and the carpet was loose.
Asking is to be early, then having to Wait an extra 45 min was not cool. But the show was amazing, he kept the funny coming.
Deon and his opening act were both great. I had tears from laughing so hard all evening. I’m so glad I got to see Deon live after years of watching his stand up and the Netflix specials.
The show started very late but was great! The venue not so much. It was difficult to find our seats because of the poor labeling and when we did get seated the seats were extremely uncomfortable. Some renovations certainly need to happen there. I understand it’s pretty old and historic but I think a better venue would have made the experience better.
I have been to his stand up before so I know he’s hilarious but I was sitting in the orchestra section very close to the stage and still couldn’t hear anything!!! It sounded like echoes and muffled sound.. I feel bad for him because he probably thought he was bombing but I couldn’t hear anything clearly.. Row L seats 3 and 4 of the orchestra section, those were my seats.
Cole hilariously taps into all the struggles we face as an aging generation that is still trying to get our groove on. His observations are spot-on and so incredibly relatable. I can't wait to see this air on Netflix - it's going to be his best special to-date. The guy who opened (Ocean Glapion) was also hilarious and we could have watched him go for a whole hour - will definitely be looking to check him out when he's headlining. Incredible night all around!

Deon Cole was amazing. My issue is I bought a ticket and yall took my seats up for the camera. I was very disappointed.
