Jason Mraz left his Virginia hometown right after high school and struck out for New York City to find his fame and fortune. Honing his skills by busking on the streets in the Big Apple, Jason decided that perhaps this line of work could be performed in a nicer climate. Next stop: San Diego, and soon Jason moved from the outdoor beachside stages to inside a local hot spot called Java Joe's. It was there he met percussionist/vocalist Toca Rivera and the two made a name for themselves all along the California coast. He released his own CD, Jason Mraz: Live and Acoustic 2001, which got the attention of all the major record labels.
His first release on Elektra, Waiting For My Rocket To Come, was released in November 2002. The album sold platinum and included the hit single "The Remedy (I Won't Wait)". That success led to Jason's second release, this time on sister label Atlantic, the Grammy-nominated Mr. A-Z, which debuted at #5 on the charts, and featured the hit single "Wordplay".
For his all-important third album, Jason traveled to England to work with producer Martin Terefe, best known for his work with Coldplay and James Morrison (who guests on the intricate Details in the Fabric). The result is We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. which garnered three Grammy nominations - Song of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, both for "I'm Yours", and Best Engineered Album. "I'm Yours", the first single from the album, holds the distinction of being the only song to ever top the radio airplay charts in the U.S. in all four major formats - Top 40, Adult Alternative, Adult Contemporary and Hot Adult Contemporary. The second single from the album is "Lucky", a duet with platinum singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat.
In his spare time, Jason is an avid photographer in the unlikely realm of Polaroids. A book of 50 of his unretouched and non-photoshopped photos entitled "a thousand things" was released in October 2008 and has spread the word about this multi-talented artist to the world of galleries and bookstores. Jason is the consummate musical and visual artist of the new century.

The Jason Mraz concert was one of my top 3 concerts that I've ever experienced! Jason and the SuperBand were thoroughly entertaining and the highlight of my summer concert experiences!
Wow! What a fun concert! Loved the vibe which was filled with so much energy and positivity! I’ve been a huge Mraz fan since high school and I’m so happy I was able to see him again in Irvine after not seeing him for so many years. Everything about the concert was great and I can’t wait to see him again!
Excellent show! Jason's voice is so clear, great band, and I really liked seeing female band members! I wonder what that guitar-looking thing was though!?
I've been a fan of Jason for over 10 years. Jason never disappoints! Jason always surrounds himself with people of talent. The Super Band this tour rocked. Raining Jane who are long time collaborative partners add to Jason's performance and sound. If you get a chance to watch Mona perform, boy are you lucky. I recommend Jason Mraz with every fiber of my being
Jason blew our entire group away! The show he and his band performed simply put, AMAZING!
My second time seeing him. First time with his big band. Such an amazing experience. Great guy, great band, great vibe.
We've been listening to Jason Mraz since 2011, and singing these iconic songs with him was an emotional experience.
I have a whole new respect for Jason Mraz now. I liked several of his songs but had not delved to deep into his music prior to attending this show. That has completely changed now. His performance was so uplifting and positive. Loved all the words he spoke between each song and how he created such an amazing vibe in the audience and on-stage. The opening act, Monica Martin, has an outstanding voice. She actually performed, "Lucky,"with Jason during his performance and she did an outstanding job. My wife and I basically danced through the entire show and we left the concert on one of the biggest highs I had in a long time. If anyone has the chance to see Jason Mraz, its definitely worth it. And for parents, his shows are kid-friendly. The crowd was such a diverse demographic from young children with their parents, college-aged, and older couples. We were really, really impressed. Already looking into when he passes through this area again so we can book tickets.
This was my 9th time seeing a Jason Mraz show and he never disappoints. We travelled to a new venue for the show and were impressed with the Mizner Amphitheater. Always leave feeling good and enjoyed every minute!
