    All Over the Place

by KellyfromMaine on 11/15/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan, but Janeane was all over the place. She started out strong and was very funny for about 15 minutes -- and then kept losing her place and never really finished a topic. she kept referring to rantings she had jotted down on recent international travels, but many times her jokes seemed personal -- as in only she got it. as cute as she is -- even if her anger and scarcasm are what fuels her comedy -- i was dissappointed. and don''t even get me started on rob riggle. i didn't laugh once. aren't comics supposed to "bring it all home" at the end -- like let us see how it all ties together and why it's all so funny? not one bit of his bit was amusing.

    Janeane and Rob

by chriso on 11/14/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I was disappointed in both performances. She was all over the place, nothing really humorous, and he was very loud and not very funny

    Janeane Wins Again

by xianboston on 11/14/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Love Janeane. Always have, and likely always will. She has such a sharp wit. Riggle is ok -- but he's lower brow humor. Both have their place. Janeane really continues to dazzle every time she performs. Smart comedy for a smart audience.

    Not what I hoped for

by DougPeter on 11/14/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

The last time i saw Janeane my stomach hurt from laughing so much. This time, no. I think the biggest issue was that when I saw her last, it was at the Orpheum. I sat in the cocktail section of the Wilbur this time and it SUCKED. It was incredibly uncomfortable. Our seats faced the exit door, putting you in a constant pretzel twist to see the acts. Sitting there, the PA was too loud to connect with her. I kept hearing people laughing loudly in the balcony and mezzanine, so clearly they were enjoying themselves. I will say, too, that when I saw Janeane last she had the benefit of a lot of Dub-Ya material. It was so funny. I think her political humor is the best. There wasn't much of that last night. It was also a bit odd that Garofalo and Riggle flipped a coin for who would go first. Riggle went second -- he really isn't my style of comedian -- I'm sure he's incredibly funny to others. Overall, not quite the night I hoped for...

    Mixed bag

by JoyFan on 11/14/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Janeane Garofalo was a disappointment. She jumped around from topic to topic, often forgetting to finish her original story. She hauled out some notes and spent time looking through them trying to find things that she couldn't find. A few times I almost fell asleep because she just wasn't that funny. After repeatedly asking the audience and someone backstage how long she had been on, she then went over her time by about 25 minutes. This was a shame because Rob Riggle killed! He came out (no noted needed) and was hilarious, energetic, and on top of his game. I wish Janeane hadn't cut into his time because he was so good and it would have been nice to have seen more of him. I went to the show mainly for Janeane Garofalo, so it was very disappointing to see her like this. Good thing Rob Riggle saved the show!
