  • Janeane Garofalo in Thousand Oaks

by Ropobop on 6/4/15Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza - Thousand OaksRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. Started just about on time, and there was an opening act, a comedian who was pretty funny on his own, though I'm sorry to say I've forgotten his name. Garofalo doesn't do "jokes" ... it was like a long, rambling, very amusing conversation where she did all the talking. Pop culture, politics, aging, and the Puppy Bowl were just a few of the topics she covered.

  • Janeane is AMAZING!!!

by Rhiray on 6/3/15Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza - Thousand OaksRating: 5 out of 5

Loved her!!! She is so intellegent and funny. She is also very human and relatable. She made us feel less crazy for our thoughts and feelings about issues and situations in our own lives. I never write reviews but she is worth it. If you like smart/political/insightful comedy Janeane is your girl. You can't go wrong buying the ticket!!

  • Just Plain Fun!

by Anonymous on 6/3/15Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza - Thousand OaksRating: 4 out of 5

I've been a Garofalo fan for years and this was my first time to see her live. It was worth it, She says she's not a stand-up comedian, she's a conversationalist, she's right. Her observations are spot on, for me anyway. Garofalo covered everything from Watergate to Walkers, Ken Burns and pregnant women who don't know their pregnant and my favorite, cutting up cardboard. Garofalo's show is also appropriate for teens. She may have said "shit" once and the goriest thing were the Walkers. Good show, worth the money and drive..

  • COMPLEX AND FUNNY

by 90mac on 6/3/15Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza - Thousand OaksRating: 4 out of 5

We enjoyed Janeane very much. She talks a mile a minute, she is kind of a scatter brain but very intelligent. She addresses current affairs with humor. I really related to her and would recommend seeing her show.

  • Great night with Janeane!

by thecosbys on 6/3/15Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza - Thousand OaksRating: 5 out of 5

Janeane was funny, entertaining, and very approachable. She came down into the audience for a little while. Her intelligence and political awareness shines in her show. She seemed to be enjoying herself so much that when the light came on to tell her it was time to wind up, she wasn't ready stop, and she stayed on stage for a while longer! I will definitely see her whenever she is in town!

  • Janeane is so sharp

by xianboston on 3/5/13Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I love this woman. She's so sharp witted and on point the whole time. She's totally batty but I can't get enough. I just want to spend more time around her!

  • Garofalo doesn't disappoint

by Bnkittens on 3/4/13Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Caught Janeane Garofalo at the Wilbur in Boston. She was exactly what I expected: Smart, funny, sharp-tongued and always interesting.

  • Ehh.

by Ounces on 3/4/13Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

This wasn't a horrendous experience but I didn't actually laugh once. I smiled some but didn't laugh. And the lady I brought with me hated the bit about the thong which apparently makes life easier for women with large posteriors. If I'm going to pay 69 dollars it would be nice if she had her set memorized. It seemed unprofessional. Ended up leaving early.

  • Bare bones intelligent comedy

by jpbeck on 3/4/13Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

An unforgettable night, she showed lot's of character and intelligence throughout the show, it was thoroughly entertaining on many levels.

  • Funny lady!

by WooHooBoo on 3/4/13Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

This show was great. The opening comic was a bit tough to listen to but kinda funny. Janeane G. Was amazing. She had me laughing non-stop all night. Her skits about allure, Downton abbey, and Hoarders were hysterical. She was fast paced and funny as ever.

  • Could have been better

by BilWithOneL on 3/4/13Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

We're big fans. The show just disappointed us. She just did not seem to bring her "A" game. It was a little sloppy and without the edge that we come to expect. It's almost like she was being careful.

  • Wicked funny!

by SandraElizaBeth on 3/4/13Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Janeane is always entertaining. Enjoyed her show and would definitely see her again. She's not a joke teller per se, but provides a witty insight into the human condition based on personal observation.

She was super funny. A little cleaner than her old standup. Wilbur is a great venue....would go see again if she came back to Boston.

Marc Maron seemed in top comedic form. He was great at including the audience in his act, and was as witty as ever. Janeane Garofalo was also good, but not so much in top form last night. She did say that she had been up all night, which was probably true considering how scattered her act seemed. No complaints, though -- it was still an entertaining show.

  • Good and bad

by JAluvsPH on 4/28/10Theatre of Living Arts - PhiladelphiaRating: 4 out of 5

Couldn't wait for Janeane to take the stage.... literally... to start her part of the show. Been a fan of hers for years. Always thought she was funny, entertaining and has had some good movie characters. We enjoyed the stories, she looked good, and educated us about spanks... and now I know. She was video recording the show for a special, which would be so cool to see later, but it probably won't be used. I'd see her again as long as she had a different opening act. We didn't know the opening act, Marc Maron, before, but can honestly say that we're definitely not fans now. We wanted to go hang out at the bar, which is not in the same room, during his performance. Based on his resume of past performances, he must have been funny at some point, but he wasn't at this show. I'll just leave it at that.

  • Rob Riggle is Hilarious

by ducenahalf on 11/17/09Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Jeneane Garofalo cares more about letting the audience know her political stance on current issues than being funny. Rob Riggle was outstanding and will definitely see him again!

  • janeane was refreshingly funny

  • Garofalo-a-go-go

by Vroosh on 11/16/09Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Janeane was great. I only wish she went on 2nd. My friend Mark flipped the coin to see who would go on first and I told him after the show he should have lied and said it was tails. I mean, it's not like anyone would have gotten hurt.

  • Garofalo Delivered!

    by CLM2Go on 11/16/09Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

What a great show Janeane Garofalo and Rob Riggle put on. They offer VERY different perspectives. Both were very funny and right on in their observations. What a great night. I wish that I had bought tickets to BOTH the 7 and 10 pm shows as I'm sure they each covered new/additional materials in the other show. Can not wait for Janeane to be back in Beantown. Catch if you can.
