About

Todd Barry was born in the Bronx. He moved to South Florida as a cute little boy, then to Manhattan as a macho little man. You may have seen him as Mickey Rourke's mean boss in The Wrestler, the annoying bongo player on Flight of the Conchords; or on Sex And the City, The Larry Sanders Show, Chappelle's Show, and Bored To Death. He's done stand-up on Letterman, Conan, and in two of his own Comedy Central Presents specials, and you can also hear his voice on Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Home Movies, and Squidbillies

    Very funny

    by Smyleitskyle on 3/1/22Tellus 360 - Lancaster

This was a very funny show, which is good because the performers called themselves comedians.

10 deadpan stars out of 10

by Crowdwork victim on 11/19/19WBUR CitySpace - Boston

The show was general admission, and we walked in late. The room was packed, but an ethereal golden spotlight from above caught my eye. It lead me to a pair of innocent virgin seats - directly in front of the mic stand. Even though the room was packed, it was evidently packed with cowards - because it takes a certain kind of mental fortitude to be able to withstand the comedy stylings of Todd Barry, as he tears down the house at your expense. Todd ripped my wife and I to shreads for no less than three minutes, and it was the most euphoric three minutes of our lives.

    Good Show

by dgeo on 9/28/17Somerville Theatre - Somerville

My 2nd time seeing Todd perform and he did not disappoint. He was funny and on for a good 45 minutes to an hour. The venue was good for a comedian, you could hear good throughout the show. This show was both bits and some "crowd work", which were both funny. The crowd work when he sort of riffs with the audience is sort of his specialty and is my favorite part of his show.

Todd Barry was off his game.....

by DonDoc on 11/6/16Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic City

We went to the show as Todd Barry fans expecting to enjoy an evening of his signature humor, we were very disappointed. He read the sparsely filled room completely wrong. He expected folks not to enjoy his style and he forced them to comply. His crowd working was embarrassingly off the mark. When he snapped out of it and dug deep he was enjoyable. Show was only about 80 minutes including a funny opening act. Was not worth the ticket price. In Todd's own words, we experienced his "train wreck.

I will always go to a todd barry show.the funniest

by butterball1111 on 9/9/16Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

Todd Barry is so funny the way he doesn't even really come with a memorized script ;he just freestyles it off what he sees in the crowd & makes fun of any oddities that happen during his show that totally gets the fans involved.I'd love to be able to get a seat front stage for the scary rush of maybe getting singled out by the Crowd Work Master & letting him make the audience laugh based on my getting picked on.

    Laughed alot

    by heetman2001 on 12/14/15Tralf - Buffalo

Todd was very funny. Although I know he is not everyone's "cup of tea", my wife and I had a great time at this show. We could have done without the openers, unfortunately, as they were basically rehashing material done by others. I watch lots of comedians and remember their material...these guys need to work harder on their acts. Standup is probably one of the hardest things to do, and I never like to see anyone not get laughs...it makes me sad. Todd worked the crowd well to improvise his material and had some great observations and wry witticisms that we all appreciate from comics like Todd. Also like that he stuck around after to greet fans and signs posters. Fun night!

    Todd Barry Slays Buffalo

by SquarePegJer on 12/14/15Tralf - Buffalo

The expert comedic stylings of Todd Barry did not disappoint. The local middler was also a pleasant surprise (though his uncanny resemblance to my wife's former boss did get in the way of her laughing as hard as I), while the opener left us wanting. The Tralf is a nice venue - but steer clear of the food. Though, our lackluster edibles may have been the fault of my spouse. I mean, seriously, who orders the pretzels and beer cheese when you have such wide-ranging choices as honey lime chicken skewers and quesadillas? Lunatics, that's who. $0.35 worth of hard snack pretzels and some garlic-y EZ-Cheese do not beer cheese and pretzels make. But I digress. A thoroughly enjoyable time. Totally worth a 5-hour round trip.

Todd Barry does both great written material and crowd work.
