About

SOME SHOWS YOU SEE. THIS SHOW YOU FEEL.

Joy, love, heartache, strength, wisdom, catharsis, LIFE--everything we've been waiting to see in a Broadway show-- is here in the exhilarating, fearless new musical based on Alanis Morissette's world-changing music.

Directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Waitress, Pippin, upcoming 1776) with a Tony-winning book by Diablo Cody (Juno) and Grammy-winning score, this electrifying production about a perfectly imperfect American family "vaults the audience to its collective feet" (The Guardian). "Redemptive, rousing and real, JAGGED LITTLE PILL stands alongside the original musicals that have sustained the best hopes of Broadway." (The New York Times)

You live, you learn, you remember what it's like to feel truly human... at JAGGED LITTLE PILL.

    Emotionally engaging, fantastic singing

by Mimi on 4/18/23James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

Heidi electrifies in her role as a mom struggling with addiction. I am not easily moved but found myself wanting to cry at the end. The cast is compelling and their stories are told masterfully. And they managed to sing Alanis' songs even better than the songstress herself!

Loved the show. Content is not carefree but a real look at life and its many struggles. Thought the story line and performance was fantastic.

    Blown Away!

    by Deb on 4/17/23

You know how in live theater there are sometimes those magical moments? Incredible performances, emotionally connected, so good it gives you chills? This show just kept the magic going, one performance after another. Powerful, emotionally charged vocals that just bowled me over. Even the dance sequences - wow! When's the last time you saw a dancer in a musical get a standing ovation and cheers? You will at this show. I saw this with my teenage son. At intermission we just looked at each other in shock over how freaking good it was. We are planning to see it a second time before it leaves. Do not miss out on this!

    Amazing performances by female leads!

by Kimber on 4/15/23James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

Overall entertaining. If you are expecting a nostalgic tribute to the music of your youth, this is not it. It is more social commentary on the issues relevant to our society today. Maybe it tries to take on too many though?Stellar talented actors in the female leads. However at times the volume of live music drowns out the singing which is unfortunate.

    It was really good.

by Cris on 4/15/23James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

At first I thought it was about Alanis' life and then I learned that it was a story built around her album, so it kinda blew my mind...

    Amazing!!

by Coco on 4/14/23James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

I loved this show! I wasn't sure how well they would put Alanis Morissette's music to a story. But they did it quite well! The staging, the choreography, acting and singing, out standing!! It's only in Chicago a short time, go see it!

by Beej on 4/14/23James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

Ohhhhhhhh m’goodness what an incredible show! Everything about it was spectacular - the costuming, the actors, the music, everything. I’m not usually one to gush a whole lot but holy expletive it was so great! Alanis must be so proud!
