About

Jackson Browne has written and performed some of the most literate and moving songs in popular music and has defined a genre of songwriting charged with honesty, emotion and personal politics. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2007.

Except for a brief period in NYC in the late 1960s, Jackson has always lived in Southern California. His debut album came out on David Geffen's Asylum Records in 1972. Since then, he has released fourteen studio albums, four collections of live performances, two "best of" compilations, two DVDs and several single recordings. Jackson's newest studio album, "Downhill From Everywhere" was released in July 2021 and GRAMMY nominated for Best Americana Album.

Browne is known for his advocacy on behalf of the environment, human rights, and arts education. He's a co-founder of the groups Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE) and Nukefree.org and a member of the Ocean advocacy group, Ocean Elders.

In 2002, he was the fourth recipient of the John Steinbeck Award, given to artists whose works exemplify the environmental and social values that were essential to the great California-born author. He has received Duke University's LEAF award for Lifetime Environmental Achievement in the Fine Arts, and both the Chapin-World Hunger Year and NARM Harry Chapin Humanitarian Awards. In 2004, Jackson was given an honorary Doctorate of Music by Occidental College in Los Angeles, for "a remarkable musical career that has successfully combined an intensely personal artistry with a broader vision of social justice."

    A Great Memory

by GoGo on 10/23/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

The concert was close to a religious experience, but not in a creepy way. Old and new memories. It was a sisters' weekend, and we couldn't have enjoyed ourselves or the concert more. Thanks for a beautiful memory.

Jackson Browne was as good as ever and the band was awesome too. The Pantages was a great venue and the sound was very good. It was just all in all a great night. It was great to see Jackson Browne back in California. I recommend going to see him if you get the chance the concert was just lovely.

Jackson Browne was exceptional on his performance Friday night. Loved this concert. It was a magical evening from the beginning to his encores. His band is great and love his backup singers, beautiful voices. Looking forward to his next tour. Hopefully 2024. Pantages is a great theater. Small and intimate. Great place to see a concert!

    Jackson Browne

by Sue B on 10/23/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Wow, Jackson Browne never disappoints. He puts on such a great performance with mostly his hits from the past, but also some current songs. His back up singers are fabulous, and his musicians are unbelievably good. What a great concert. And the Pantages theater is absolutely beautiful.

    Vintage Jackson Browne

by Gene on 10/23/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

An amazing performance. Unbridled energy and he had the audience waiting with excitement for the next song. For a 75 year old, his voice hasn't changed and he filled the audience with electricity. Simply Fantastic.

    the most poignant show, yet

by angelo on 10/23/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

After watching and listening to his music for 50 years, I approached the concert with some ambivalence. How would his voice be ( after seeing him twice in the past few years, a legitimate concern) and how would the set list unfold? Displaying why he remains the best performing singer-songwriter of that era, the show did not disappoint. Playing to a hometown crowd, within miles of where many of the songs were written, JB was relaxed and appreciative. As was the crowd. Opening with a poignant Warren Zevon song "Don't Let us Get Sick"with just a guitar and mic, Browne set a tone. The show featured both intimate tunes ( Time the Conqueror was played !) and hard rockers. The pacing was perfect as was its spontaneity. The band was truly superb, and while David Lindley is sorely missed, there was no appreciable drop off in guitar skills on display. The lap player was excellent, and Mr. McCullum (sp?) beyond versatile. The rhythm and backup sections were tight and skilled. A low key stage presentation allowed the very enthusiastic crowd to focus on the bountiful art unfolding before it without distraction. Browne's voice was fine and got stronger as the show went on. After a short break, it got even better. David Lindley, Warren Zevon, and Glenn Frey were present in big spirit as one song seamlessly followed the other. After 5 decadess and countless shows, this one might have been the very best.

    Jackson is Alive!

by Ĺosman on 10/23/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Jackson was intimately performing at the Pantages. Jackson strut it out and performed the first song solo on acoustic guitar ("Let's not get sick"by Warren Zevon. His 7 piece Band then joined him. They did 10 songs and took a brief intermission. They came back out played 10 more songs finishing with "Doctor my Eyes"and "Running on Empty."The crowd joined in for the encores Load Out/Stay, and "Take it Easy". Jackson c kson still sounding Great at 73.

    Disappointing

by JB Fan on 10/23/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Disappointing Big fan and this was the first time seeing him live. Missed him for one reason or another in the past so spent the money and drove to LA to finally see him. Also taking into consideration there might not be too many more opportunities to see Jackson Browne. Had several friends tell me over the years that they were disappointed when they saw him in the past. I’m now in that group. I guess we are just fans of his popular music. I think he has about a dozen great songs but this night we heard very few of them. We ended up leaving before the end of the show and ducked into the Frolic room next door. Frankly had more fun in there. Sorry, Jackson we love you. The show was just not what we expected.

    Great show despite the shouters.

by A younger fan on 10/20/23The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

Jackson Browne was outstanding, and his voice and band were incredible. His two back up singers were wonderful and hit all the notes expected for the fans. There are a lot of people older than myself, shouting out the names of songs they want to play instead of just enjoying what Mr. Browne had planned for us. Coincidentally, he said the set list changes almost every night, and got almost every song that was shouted out loud I would’ve loved to take it easy But that girl could sing and run on empty we’re incredible. If you get a chance to see Mr. Browne, I would do so before his voice leaves all of us.

    Great Venue, Great 2023 Band

by DT on 10/18/23The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

I've seen Jackson Browne several times over the past 4 decades. This group and the interpretation of the songs was completely different then any of the rest. Kudos to the Jackson and the group to embrace Vegas and give us a bit more.
