About

Iron Maiden are one of the most formative bands to establish the heavy metal genre in the ’80s. Formed in 1975 in East London, the band underwent several personnel changes before releasing their self-titled debut in 1980. Iron Maiden’s sophomore effort, 1981’s Killers, was the first to chart in the U.S. and marked the final release with lead singer Paul Di'Anno. With the installment of frontman Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden released their breakthrough 1982 album, The Number of the Beast, which reached platinum certification, introduced two staples to the band’s catalog with the title track and “Run to the Hills” and kicked off a 10-year run of releases to land in the Top 40 on the Billboard 200, including their 1983 follow-up Piece of Mind and 1986’s Somewhere in Time. Dickinson departed in 1993, but returned in 1999 to cement the current lineup with bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris; guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers; and drummer Nicko McBrain, along with the band’s long-standing mascot “Eddie,” whose skeletal figure has graced the cover of nearly every release and become a signature of their live performances. Iron Maiden reached a new level of mainstream success in the ’10s, winning their first Grammy in the Best Metal Performance category for their 2010 single “El Dorado,” while 2010’s The Final Frontier and 2015’s The Book of Souls both earned No. 4 placements on the Billboard 200, marking their highest-charting albums at the time.

    Maiden was O.K. this round.

    by JayMan1967 on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

The show and new stage set-up was amazing. Did not see the new Eddie come out which was disappointing! Also they did not play much of the old stuff. They only played 3 old song's from pre 1986. People in my section were really disappointed not hear more pre 1986 material / songs.

    maiden

by mscfn on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

Good solid performance. The new songs are good and they played about 5 of them. More for the Maiden diehard than casual fan. They did not play 2 Minutes To Midnight, The Trooper or Run to to the Hills. Played for almost 2 hours. Opening act started before the 7:30 time listed on ticket.

Great show, but the setlist was lacking

by Anonymous on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

The show was overall really great. But they played some new songs instead of the classics. They did not play The Trooper, Run To The Hills or 2 minutes 2 Midnight. The sound mix was good but it seemed like Bruce's mic needed to be up some as the vocals really didnt cut through at times. I would still reccomend the show. Maiden is always great.

    Bad balance

    by Cowboys72 on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

Not a good balance of "old" and "new". Over 75% of setlist was 90's and beyond. And 3 of the 4 old songs were after encore.

    turning in my metal card

by nometalcard on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

A few points... I LOVE Maiden. I have every album up to Fear of the Dark. I knew a total of 5 songs that they played last night... This was completley unexpected... Thus I am turning in my metal card and moving on to soft rock... Also, the sound at the Superpages center sucks if you are on the lawn. The vocals, the main reason for seeing maiden was unbelievably bad. You could hardly understand Bruce... Still, with all the negative, it was a good show... Bruce still has more energy then an energizer bunny with an electric cattle prod shoved up its behind...

go if you like the newer material

    by go20al on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

just for the record, i've now seen Iron Maiden 8 times and Dream Theater 10 times. the show in Dallas was good, but only if you really like the newer material. The oldest song played during the main set was Fear of the Dark, until the last song of the set and the encores. Iron Maiden closed the set, followed by Number of the beast, hallowed be thy name and running free. saw them on somewhere back in time last year and it was one of the best shows i have seen them play. there was very little participation from the audience as far as singing along. great show, but only if you enjoy the newer material. dream theater were amazing as always. 45 minute set was too short, but can;t really expect more from an opening act. they closed the set with pull me under which had a lot of audience participation. long story short, there were a lot of people around me wondering the same thing, where were the "classics" ?

    Iron Maiden

by pinkyII on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

This is the first time i've seen iron maiden ever, my husband saw them back in the 80's and he said they were awesome then. I took my teenage sons to see them and they had an awesome time!! We all had a great time, although it would've been nice to see them in our homestate (OK) but it was well worth the drive! It was an amazing show, they didn't perform a couple of songs that we were wanting to hear that was the only disappointment we had, trooper & run to the hills. But we loved EDDY, he was pretty cool!!!

    Don't miss this show!

    by Rooster10 on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

Iron Maiden is not to be missed! This is the same band with the same sound and the same energy that I remember from the 80's. The band might have aged, but you would never know it by watching and listening to them. They played for two hours straight with almost no down time! Most of the material came from the albums Brave New World to the present. The only negative thing to say is that there wasn't much for the old school. This might also be because in Dallas they are required to quit at 11pm due to an outdoor venue surrounded by a residential zone. Dream Theater was a good match for this show. They sounded great and had all the energy of the headliner. Two seasoned bands for the price of one ticket. Don't pass on this show!

Still one of the best live acts to see!

    by tornado69 on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

Iron Maiden is like a fine wine that keeps getting better with age. The played for almost 3 hours and didn't miss a note. I was a little sad that they played so much of their newer material while skipping some of their greatest hits like Run to the Hills or The Trooper, but they have such a large collections of songs to draw from that they can't play everything and all of the songs that they did play sounded phenomenal! They sounded like they were at the end of a tour instead of the beginning of it. Bruce Dickinson is amazing, constantly running around the stage like a mad man and still singing great after all these years. Anyone who gets to attend one of their upcoming shows on The Final Frontier Tour will not be disapointed.

Not as good as the Hype.

by ChristaTX on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

I was expecting one of the best hard rock concerts that I'd ever seen with all I've heard of their live show over the decades. While good it wasn't awesome. I know they want to play songs to cover their career but still felt 90's heavy and lacking a single song from 7th Son.

Iron Maiden kicked butt as usual...

by Kamo on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

It is nice to see these guys again. I even managed to convince my wife to go to Iron Maiden after all these years and she was pleasantly surprised. New material or not; you will always get 150% from Iron Maiden. They played newer material along with a few of old classics. Some of the new bands should take notes and learn a few things from bands like Iron Maiden.

    Disappointed

by Anonymous on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

From a DT fan perspective: Enjoyed DT but their set was only 45 minutes. This was pretty disappointing... they should have at least gone another 15 minutes (1 more song from DT lol). First time to see IM. Not a big fan, but they put on a good show. Glad I had ear plugs (sound level for DT was good). On IM, I was expecting Run to the Hills as a second encore and they stripped down the stage instead. That was anti-climatic.

Wish they would of played hits!!

by sunsetfun on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

The new songs were kind of boring and they only played 4 of there hits and never played run to the hills. Also his mic keep cutting out during song and could not understand anything he said to the crowd. Was kind of dissapponted.

Love Iron Maiden to death, but...

by Bufftackle on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

They really disappointed me by their set list. Mind you I'm only 20 and have been listening to Maiden since I was 16, so the stuff I know best is their hits. They played Number of the Beast about 2/3 into their set. If they had ended on Run To The Hills or Where Eagles Dare, I would have been satisfied.

    I,m Still Yawning

by livemaisey on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

I've been a Maiden fan for 28 years and this show was the worst I've seen. If you love the new Maiden, then you'll love this. Otherwise, don't go. Nothing from Piece of Mind, nothing from Powerslave. They only played two classics, Iron Maiden and Number of the Beast. The rest was a bore. They must be proud of all the new crap they played, there was plenty of it.

    Iron Maiden rock Superpages

by DensoiS on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

Maiden played a very varied selection of music. Three songs off of "A matter of life and death" was very good. They sounded awesome, and of course the antics of Bruce, Steve and Jankick made the show. Bruce even brought up the upcoming football match between the US and England........he of course thinks England will win. The set list was very good, did not play a few of my favorites, but they mixed new with old very well. The new Eddie is very cool. Now off to San Antonio to see them again!!!!
