About

IF/THEN is a contemporary new musical that follows two distinct storylines in the life of Elizabeth, a city planner who moves back to New York to restart her life in this city of infinite possibilities. When her carefully designed plans collide with the whims of fate, Elizabeth’s life splits into two parallel paths. IF/THEN follows both stories simultaneously as this modern woman faces the intersection of choice and chance.

IF/THEN is recommended for ages 12 and up for strong language and adult themes. Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theatre.
Doors open 30 minutes prior to curtain time. The performance begins promptly at the time noted on your ticket.  Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of management.

    Nothing Short of Amazing

by MarkNYC64 on 3/25/15Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

Look, this was the 13th or 14th time I've seen "If/Then." Seriously, I saw it so often that I literally lost count. Unfortunately you cannot see it on Broadway now because there's really not room for too many original musicals that take chances like this one did so brilliantly. However, there will be a tour in the fall so you should drop everything and try to see it or you will regret it for the rest of your life. Some of the most amazing music I've EVER heard on the Broadway stage and I've been seeing Broadway since 1986.

The play was phenomenal! It was one of those storylines that made it relatable to your everyday life. The entire cast was great. I would highly recommend.

Adele Dazeem - oops, Idina Menzel - is AMAZING!

by ravenize on 3/24/15Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

Great show but a little confusing if you don't pay close attention to the alternate timeline (a la Sliding Doors). I am so glad I got to see this before it closed - Idina was simply amazing and gave me chills every time she sang! Strong supporting cast too. I will see Idina in ANYTHING!

    Idina is FANTASTIC

by YurpleK on 3/24/15Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

Idina Menzel is absolutely stunning in person. Her voice can get a little nasally at times, but she was fantastic handling what I consider a largely unmemorable score! She carried the show! La Chanze was excellent as well. Highly recommended, if it wasn't closing.

If/Then great, Richard Rogers Theatre terrible

by AvoidRR on 3/24/15Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

The show was very good. Idina Menzel is of course great and the cast as well. There was a song called "What the F--K" it which was a bit of a shocker to my 14 year old. It's part of the play so normally that's alright under the rule of artistry to however this play definitely drew many young kids bcse of Idina Menzel's fame from Frozen. What was really obnoxious was having a shirt at the concession stand in the lobby that had this loudly written on it. I certainly didn't need for my daughter to be staring at that while standing in the lobby. Finally, The Richard Rogers Theatre is an absolute sardine can. I'm a rather small framed guy and I was very tightly squeezed. If the seats were any closer and narrower, I might as well just stood up for the show. I'll avoid this theatre when possible. Aweful

Idina Menzel is amazing and the real reason I saw this play was to hear her sing live. But I was disappointed with the plot line and felt like there were a lot of awkward undeveloped moments.

by suzhart48 on 3/23/15Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

I loved the music and the acting. Interesting plot, but I need to see it again to figure out what's going on. That's okay. I felt the same way about "The English Patient" and that was one of my favorite movies.

    Idina Menzel is amazing

by eyeguy5405 on 3/23/15Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

What a great show! I am sorry that it closed yesterday. It was great to see a new musical and not an adaptation of a Disney movie. The story makes you think about how our choices affect not only us but our friends. I don't know that this show will tour as it may not have a wide enough appeal and who can they get to play Idina Menzel's part? It is a vehicle for her talents.

It was ok- the plot was a bit confusing because it switched back and forth between Liz and Beth's different personas, but it was ok.
