A very strong performance! A must see! Ronnie Marmo was phenomenal in playing Lenny Bruce he covered Lennys life & death perfectly.
Phenomenal! A definite must see, brilliantly acted performance.
Love the Royal George and the employees who are so welcoming . This production was captivating for the entire 90 minutes, and Ronny was extraordinary....he gave his all and truly embodied Lenny Bruce insect a way that the entire audience was drawn in, as evidenced by the Q & A post performance. I see why it is being held over! Thank you, thank you!
Amazing show. Great story. Fantastic acting. It was like seeing Lenny Bruce in the flesh. Can’t recommend this show enough.
Enjoyed this solo performance from start to finish. Highly recommend you go see it.
The space was perfect for this show. The actor/wtiter really got it.
The show was wonderful. You cannot be offended by the language as thst is what made Lenny Bruce famous. The actor who plays him is great
Ronnie Marmo IS Lenny Bruce in "I'm Not a Comedian...". His writing and performance about Lenny Bruce's life made audience members feel the comedian/actor's anguish. Not that there aren't light-hearted moments during Marmo's performance (especially when he goes into the audience), but the heart-ache and addictions of the 1960's entertainer, Lenny Bruce, really take "center-stage" in this intimate theater setting. A must-see.
Ronnie Marmo's performance was incredible. Never a dull moment in 90 minutes. The cabaret room at the Royal George Theatre is the perfect venue for this type of play.
The play was a great performance and story about a misunderstood life.
While I truly enjoyed the play, it was more of a biographical piece than a Lenny Bruce routine. It was amusing but not roll out of your seats funny (much like Lenny, in my opinion). With that said, the actor was absolutely brilliant. I don't know how he did it but I'm am in awe of his performance.
Great show! A very thoughtful and powerful performance. Gave more than a glimpse into the turbulent life of Lenny Bruce.
I remember seeing Lenny on the Ed Sullivan Show when I was a kid. I researched him as I got older, and became a fan. This portrayal was both Lenny the act, and Lenny the person. I loved it.
Definitely recommend seeing this show - superb acting & writing. It's important for all of us to learn from Lenny Bruce and the importance of free speech and expression.
the audience turned on phones to text, rummaged in purses, and were unresponsive to an excellent. performance. Didnt they know qho Lenny Bruce was and why were they there?
Anyone who does not understand why protecting free speech is important should see this show and even those who do understand would benefit from learning about Lenny Bruce.
The show was a great mix of Lenny Bruce bits and the story of his life. We loved the intimate setting of the smaller venue. The story had you laughing and crying. We were double lucky as Kitty Bruce was in the audience.
Really enjoyed the small stage feel where all seats are good. The story of Lenny Bruce was captivating!
