About

Hugh Jackman on Tour

If you thought Hugh Jackman the action hero was entertaining, wait till you meet Hugh Jackman the song-and-dance man. If the Australian performer is a man of few (mostly grumpy) words as Hollywood's Wolverine in the X-Men franchise, onstage he is sophisticated charm personified, as demonstrated in his latest solo showcase, Hugh Jackman: The Man. The Music. The Show.

Jackman has alternated between stage and screen his entire career. TV provided his first professional experience when Jackman was tapped for a role in the Australian series Correlli the very 1995 night he graduated from Sydney's Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts. He first made his mark abroad in the leading role of Curly in the Royal National Theatre's celebrated production of Oklahoma! The West End production earned him an Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical.

Jackman first put on his Wolverine talons in 2000 for Bryan Singer's X-Men. That led to subsequent appearances in X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand, among other sequels and prequels, ending with Logan in 2017. He also played lead roles in the romantic-comedy fantasy Kate & Leopold and magic-themed The Prestige. His performance as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables led to a 2012 Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.

Jackman's role as P.T. Barnum in 2017's The Greatest Showman provided the seed for his one-man extravaganza The Man. The Music. The Show. It features music from the record-breaking original motion picture soundtrack, performed by a live orchestra alongside talented dancers. It also includes audience favorites from Jackman's prior shows, Back on Broadway (2011) and Broadway to Oz (2015).

All of these career retrospectives provide slide-show and video glimpses into Jackman's family life, involve one-on-one audience interactions, and reprise his glittery Tony Award-winning musical-theater portrayal of flamboyant Australian entertainer Peter Allen in The Boy From Oz.

A philanthropist with a longtime interest in microcredit (the extension of very small loans to support entrepreneurship and alleviate poverty), Jackman also serves as an advisor to the Global Poverty Project, which imagines the end of poverty within a generation.

    Hugh Jackman is Pure Heaven!!!

    by Renew57 on 10/15/13Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

What can I say about Hugh Jackman that hasn't been said before. His connection to his audience is like no other performer before him. The man has a soul like no other. You can feel his inner being reaching out to your heart and making it jump with every kind of emotion your body can feel. I would go and see this show again and again and I have in San Francisco, New York, and now in Hollywood at the Dolby Theater. He is just amazing.

The total package. Endlessly talented and funny

by Tickynate on 10/15/13Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

Fabulous. So great to be in he presence of a real star. His effortless style and boyish charm, it seemed to me that every woman in the audience wanted to take him home and I think quite a few guys may have had the same idea. He exudes Bon Ami, and had the audience in the palm of his hand. I would have liked a couple more of his great songs from Les Mis. like "Bring him Home" or , Boy from OZ " Still Call Australia Home" ..and while the sound system was OK... I often felt it needed to be bigger, we needed the mic turned up a notch or two...Hey he's only one guy . But what a guy.....From a proud fellow Aussie

    Outstanding performer and humanitarian

    by Venezia999 on 10/15/13Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

Hugh Jackman is an amazing performer, and a generous humanitarian. As Richard Marx said, Hugh can do it all, sing, dance, act, looks good, loving family, just a wonderful person. That's what makes people want to open their pocketbook and give whenever he asks. $11,000 for each tee shirt in the two acts, complete with sweat he promised, Sold. The actual Wolverine jacket worn in the movie, signed - spirited bidding but ended with a $15,000 final bid. An electric Fiat, signed by Hugh Jackman - $50,000. This benefit concert raised $1,850,000 for the MPTF. And even for those of us who couldn't swing the pricey bids he made it so much fun to watch. And that was the entertainment after the main event! I wish him a long and satisfying career so he can continue to bring such happiness to those of us who watch him while he does what he loves.

Hugh Jackman is Magic on Stage

by EllenFD on 10/15/13Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

This is one man who can do it all. He sang, he danced, he traded quips with guest star Richard Marx, raised nearly $2 million for charity and thoroughly charmed thousands of people at his "One Night Only" show at the Dolby Theater Saturday evening. I've seen him numerous times on stage, and he always manages to outdo himself. If you know him only from films, you owe it to yourself to witness the full Hugh Jackman experience in person. You won't be disappointed.

    Hugh at the Dolby

    by Broadway25 on 10/15/13Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

The most amazing talent and man there is today in show business. I've seen every one of his Broadway appearances and now this special concert. He gets better and better. There are no words that accurately capture what he does on stage. He has a beautiful voice. He can dance. He's funny. He's totally natural and comfortable. And he looks as if he is having so much fun! The only negative about the show was that it had to end. Can't wait to see him again.

    "The More I See You"

by stoptheshow on 10/15/13Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

My review title is a Peter Allen song. I have watched Hugh Jackman for years--and I was one of the ones who saw The Boy from Oz years ago on Broadway. I know I know, Mr. Jackman is a buff, handsome, fearless actor and all the women and the men in the audience were swooning. But, aside from the beautiful body and handsome looks--he is quite a showman with his singing, dancing and the way he personally led us thru a bit of his life. He love of live, his wife, his children show in every song, every dance step....and...wait for it...he is nice! He said hello to every stage hand, knew all the names of those in the band and many in the audience. So, Happy Birthday Hugh. Now that we have shared your 45th birthday--what are 'we' going to do for your 46th? Shall 'I go to Rio' with you?

One of the most entertaining events I've ever been to. If you have the opportunity, it's worth every cent. Even more worth it to spring for the expensive seats, as he truly performs everything he does.
