About

Hugh Jackman on Tour

If you thought Hugh Jackman the action hero was entertaining, wait till you meet Hugh Jackman the song-and-dance man. If the Australian performer is a man of few (mostly grumpy) words as Hollywood's Wolverine in the X-Men franchise, onstage he is sophisticated charm personified, as demonstrated in his latest solo showcase, Hugh Jackman: The Man. The Music. The Show.

Jackman has alternated between stage and screen his entire career. TV provided his first professional experience when Jackman was tapped for a role in the Australian series Correlli the very 1995 night he graduated from Sydney's Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts. He first made his mark abroad in the leading role of Curly in the Royal National Theatre's celebrated production of Oklahoma! The West End production earned him an Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical.

Jackman first put on his Wolverine talons in 2000 for Bryan Singer's X-Men. That led to subsequent appearances in X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand, among other sequels and prequels, ending with Logan in 2017. He also played lead roles in the romantic-comedy fantasy Kate & Leopold and magic-themed The Prestige. His performance as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables led to a 2012 Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.

Jackman's role as P.T. Barnum in 2017's The Greatest Showman provided the seed for his one-man extravaganza The Man. The Music. The Show. It features music from the record-breaking original motion picture soundtrack, performed by a live orchestra alongside talented dancers. It also includes audience favorites from Jackman's prior shows, Back on Broadway (2011) and Broadway to Oz (2015).

All of these career retrospectives provide slide-show and video glimpses into Jackman's family life, involve one-on-one audience interactions, and reprise his glittery Tony Award-winning musical-theater portrayal of flamboyant Australian entertainer Peter Allen in The Boy From Oz.

A philanthropist with a longtime interest in microcredit (the extension of very small loans to support entrepreneurship and alleviate poverty), Jackman also serves as an advisor to the Global Poverty Project, which imagines the end of poverty within a generation.

    Hugh Jackman - Extraordinaire!

by bearpaw on 10/17/13Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

Mr. Jackman sang, danced, joked, told stories...and he was absolutely fabulous. The Dolby stage was perfect for him to sing his way through some amazing songs. It was a pleasure to see a real performer. And to know all the profits from the evening went to a worthy cause made it that much more enjoyable. Well done Hugh!!! Bravo!

    Hugh Jackman is Multi-Talented

by Desp on 10/16/13Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

He can act, sing and dance! He is probably one of the finest actors in the industry and he makes everything look easy. I had seen him on Broadway ten years ago--that is why I came back for more.

Hugh was entertaining and heart warming

    by Dracko100 on 10/16/13Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

Hugh interacted with the audience during the show. He shared personal experiences which all made it more interesting and real. Who would have known he had a comical side. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you Hugh for giving an amazing show for a good cause.

    Hugh Jackman, Mr. Entertainer!

by Aldonza on 10/15/13Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

I knew from seeing Les Miz and watching him host the Oscars that Hugh Jackman could sing and dance. What I didn't know was how he could interact with his audience. From the first number "Oh, what a Beautiful Morning", conducting the audience to sing along with him, we were eating out of his hand! I also expected a shorter concert and that he would have several guests to carry some of the weight. Except for 2 featured guitarists and natives form his beloved Australia to join him in a special number honoring his homeland, he was singing every song, dancing every dance (flanked by 3 very beautiful and talented ladies) for three solid hours! I am a singer myself and I know how exhausting that must have been. He knew how to work the show, from the opening engaging the audience in song to closing the first Act with the Soliloquy from Carousel. He was funny, eloquent and multi-talented. I was so impressed with the ease in which he ran the after show auction. Comfortable, competent, and made what could have been dull, very engaging. My family and I had a night we will never forget!

Wow!!!! I think that really sums it up. To have an opportunity to see Hugh live in a non-stop singing, story telling, engaging performance where he successfully raised almost 2 million dollars for a great cause. Wow!!!!

"One Night Only" with Hugh Jackman

by CarouselK on 10/15/13Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

Hugh Jackman is the greatest stage performer of this generation. He sings, dances, tells stories, and completely charms an audience. He can do it all, and raise money for charity at the same time. Saturday night at the Dolby, he was rewarded with two mid-show standing ovations. The Hollywood movers and shakers need to put him into another movie musical, like CAROUSEL or SOUTH PACIFIC.

Hugh Jackman is a consumate showman!

by jbluvsparis on 10/15/13Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

The show was fantastic, even my husband said it was a memorable evening. We felt as if we were in an intimate venue because he relates to the audience like no one else I have seen. His singing, dancing, storytelling made for a fabulous evening. The "Dolby" is wonderful, first time there. Sat in first row of the "Parterre" section, only thing better would have been front row or on stage with him!!!

    Hugh Jackman on Stage

by jimkloes on 10/15/13Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

Consumate,, talented, charasmatic, one of the very best entertainers around. Having seen the Boy From Oz on Broadway, I wish we could keep Hugh Jackman on stage but I realize he is big and talented and we have to share. Don't miss any opportunity to experience Hugh Jackman in any entertainment forum. I'd listen to him read a book. Or better, sing a book. Simply superb.

Hugh Jackman is a true showman.

by FriendOfEle on 10/15/13Dolby Theatre - Hollywood

He was fantastic. Song, dance and story telling. If you get a chance to see him, do it! The theatre left a little to be desired. It's a typical performance space, but the sound was terrible. It didn't quite reach us all the way in the back. Isn't Dolby known for sound? My friend and I strained forward to hear what Hugh was saying. We got most of it but missed quite a bit. Just be really careful when you purchase seats. I was in a hurry and didn't realize my seats were in the very last row. Lesson learned.

Hugh was charming, engaging and entertaining. Loved the personal stories and dancing. Also, really enjoyed the Australian Aboriginal act w/video; Stunning! There is nothing sexier than a handsome talented man ;like Hugh, who obviously loves his wife; his tribute to her was sweet.
