Hugh Jackman on Tour
If you thought Hugh Jackman the action hero was entertaining, wait till you meet Hugh Jackman the song-and-dance man. If the Australian performer is a man of few (mostly grumpy) words as Hollywood's Wolverine in the X-Men franchise, onstage he is sophisticated charm personified, as demonstrated in his latest solo showcase, Hugh Jackman: The Man. The Music. The Show.
Jackman has alternated between stage and screen his entire career. TV provided his first professional experience when Jackman was tapped for a role in the Australian series Correlli the very 1995 night he graduated from Sydney's Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts. He first made his mark abroad in the leading role of Curly in the Royal National Theatre's celebrated production of Oklahoma! The West End production earned him an Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
Jackman first put on his Wolverine talons in 2000 for Bryan Singer's X-Men. That led to subsequent appearances in X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand, among other sequels and prequels, ending with Logan in 2017. He also played lead roles in the romantic-comedy fantasy Kate & Leopold and magic-themed The Prestige. His performance as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables led to a 2012 Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.
Jackman's role as P.T. Barnum in 2017's The Greatest Showman provided the seed for his one-man extravaganza The Man. The Music. The Show. It features music from the record-breaking original motion picture soundtrack, performed by a live orchestra alongside talented dancers. It also includes audience favorites from Jackman's prior shows, Back on Broadway (2011) and Broadway to Oz (2015).
All of these career retrospectives provide slide-show and video glimpses into Jackman's family life, involve one-on-one audience interactions, and reprise his glittery Tony Award-winning musical-theater portrayal of flamboyant Australian entertainer Peter Allen in The Boy From Oz.
A philanthropist with a longtime interest in microcredit (the extension of very small loans to support entrepreneurship and alleviate poverty), Jackman also serves as an advisor to the Global Poverty Project, which imagines the end of poverty within a generation.
It was the BEST concert ever. His interacting with audience was SPECIAL.
My husband, our daughter, her boyfriend and I were in Chicago to watch our daughter run in the Chicago Marathon. We thought it would be a great show, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was very energetic. Hugh Jackman is definitely a showman. We had a great night.
Hugh put on an outstanding show that was filled with wonderful songs, dances, and funny and touching moments. The evening was a total delight from start to finish. We highly recommend seeing his show if you can!
Birthday gift from our daughter and son in law and we had the best night ever! He is indeed a great showman!
Show was fantastic. Hugh Jackman is AWESOME! He is such a talented entertainer. Seats at this venue were great. We were in the third tier and there was plenty of room, very comfortable
The show was totally AWESOME! Hugh’s energy is amazing and the crew is outstanding. All in All, TOTALLY PRICELESS. Thank You!!!!!!
My husband and I saw the show when he was here over the summer and decided to go see it again this time with the kids and it was just as awesome the 2nd time!!! What a great show he puts on and it's amazing how truly talented Hugh Jackman is from the singing, dancing, tap dancing, audience participation, etc. You can tell he really gets into doing this show and puts everything he has into it and makes it his own and wants you to truly enjoy it!!!! He seems like a great guy and we would all go see it again if he ever came back in town. This is a must see show for anyone, single/married, kids, etc.
An amazing concert from start to finish - Hugh Jackman do it all!!
Hugh has a passion for entertaining us. He obviously enjoys his job on stage as well as in the movies. The music, dancers, on stage orchestra and colorful lighting and videos were all worth the long lines at security. Hughs birthday was Oct 12th so a couple of parts of the show were him celebrating with us Hoosiers. It was a wonderful show!!!!
This was one of the very best shows I have ever seen in my entire life! Hugh was magnetic and The show was flawless. The songs were amazing and Hugh talked to the audience like we were all a part of something great. But what I loved the most is that everyone in stage seamed to be having a genuinely good time. It seamed like such a beautiful joyful atmosphere and like everyone down to the very last crew member was respected and part of a family. It was truly beautiful to see!!! I’m so greatfull to have had this experience. Best money I have ever spent!
A great concert but it was quite hard to hear individual words from the level where we were section 22
We bought tickets up in Sec 315. An usher surprised us with a free upgrade to Ses 121! We were so grateful to be closer to see Hugh & the awesome show!
Hugh Jackman was amazing! Best variety show I have seen! He is so talented, down to earth, and funny!
Ordered tickets online to see Hugh Jackman at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Purchasing tickets was easy, as well as using our mobile tickets to get in using the Ticketmaster app on our phone. All of the ushers were so helpful and courteous. Hugh Jackman's performance was spectacular. He is everything I had expected!! Such a good, good person. The musical performance, singing, orchestra all sounded so good too. Getting in and out of the venue was easy. Just a really wonderful experience !!
Hugh is an awesome entertainer! The wait to get into Bankers life was rather slow moving and we missed the first few minutes. They need more scanners.
Amazing unexpected all so very talented great and like no other, would totally drive 500 miles to see again
I didn't really know what to expect from this show, but it was easily one of (if not the) best shows I have ever seen. I've seen some if the greats, and this beat them.
The show and content were amazing. Hugh is so talented and I’m sure he does more talents than what he did in the show! He’s definitely an entertainer! The venue was nice, spacious, and clean. My only critique was how loud it was. It was so loud that I could hardly understand the words to most of the songs. :( other than that it was a great show!
Fun for all ages! My mother, daughter and I purchased tickets in the very last row of the highest section. It was what was in our budget and we didn't want to have this show pass us up. We were not sure what to expect and came in with an open mind. We were not seated even a minute and an usher came over and asked us if we would like to upgrade our seats to Sec. 1 on the floor!!! We were so excited and the seats were amazing! We feel very fortunate that they did that for us. It was such an entertaining Vegas style, feel good show. It was so nice how the production included a local choir to join them on stage for a few of the songs. Hugh was such an amazing host and entertainer! I would highly recommend and feel very lucky for the upgraded seat. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I did not know what to expect when I bought the tickets. I'd loved Hugh in Les Mis, but did not know how this would carry over into a concert. We were blown away by what an entertainer he is; this will go down as one of the best concerts we have attended. I loved the choice of music and visual displays. He seemed so sincere and warm. We thoroughly recommend seeing this concert if it comes to your town.
