Hozier is one of the most successful folk artists of the 21st century. Born Andrew Hozier-Byrne, the Irish singer-songwriter first toured internationally as a member of the Irish vocal group Anúna before going solo in 2012. His watershed moment came a year later when his first single, “Take Me to Church” was released. In 2014, it rose to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and ushered in Hozier’s self-titled debut, which itself reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. “Take Me to Church” closed 2014 as Spotify’s most-shared song of the year and garnered Hozier’s first career Grammy nomination for Song of the Year. His 2019 sophomore full-length, Wasteland Baby!, topped the Billboard 200 and was supported by Hozier’s first solo headlining world tour. In 2023, Hozier released his third album, Unreal Unearth. Throughout his career, Hozier has collaborated with artists such as Mavis Staples, Annie Lennox, Maren Morris, Noah Kahan, Brandi Carlile and composer Bear McCreary.

Not going to surprise anyone by saying the Hozier show at the Electric Factory was phenomenal. He is really special, and he and his amazing band did not disappoint. So very happy we were able to be there.
Hozier is one of the best live acts I've ever heard. This is my second time seeing him. He has just come off shows in Boston and New York and appearances on the Tonight Show and the Today show all within the span of three days. He admitted to having 6 hrs of sleep within those 3 days, and looked as if he was about to keel over. But that did not stop him and his band of fairy angels from putting on an unforgettable show. Longer set than on his last tour, played every song on his excellent album, one of the bonus tracks (Run), and two covers, Skip James' Illinois Blues, and Ariana Grande's Problem (into which he inserts some verses from Regulate). There is always a contrast with him between his COMMANDING presence when he sings, and his shy interaction with the crowd when speaking, but he was less stiff and has enhanced his banter, expanding his back story on the macabre love song In A Week, and expressing his intention to sample "some of your gourmet cheesesteaks". Certainly getting more comfortable with larger crowds, which is important as I fully expect the next tour he'll be filling stadiums.
Great show!! Me and my friends had such a great time. I would see him again, no problem!!!
Rarely have I seen a crowd as diverse as this totally into a performer, especially one who just came on the scene a little over a year ago. But if anyone deserves it, Hozier does. He's an all around talented performer. Excellent song writer, singer, musician, leader, and comes across as a very nice person too. Few headliners spend as much time as he does promoting the other musicians on stage, including his opening act, George Ezra, who is worth seeing as well, though not quite the extraordinary talent of Hozier. Hozier's playing and appreciation of R&B and blues is very exciting as well as his songs. He played a Skip James blues better than Skip James did, which is saying a lot.
Hozier song writing is old school storytelling meets current culture vibe. His voice is rich with hints of soul. I love his sense of timing with each song. His band is enjoyable as well and of course the cellist is bonus for overall sound component of each song. Wonderful backup singing with haunting harmonys. I cannot wait to see this talent grow!
Gorgeous artist. Simple. Strong. Authentic. Soulful.
We saw Hozier last summer at the Newport Folk Fest, in a small setting, and fell in love with his music and style. He was just as amazing at the Beacon last weekend. Great songwriter and performer, hope to see him again soon!
The first time I saw Hozier was at the Bowery Ballroom in May of 2014. Then I was fortunate enough to see him at both Irving Plaza shows in November 2014. When it was announced that he was playing The Beacon - I just knew the show was going to be insane! Thinking about that voice in that theatre gave me chills. And I was not wrong! Just an amazing show! Crowd was very energetic - most of us standing the whole time in a theatre where one usually sits. I wish I could re-live this night many times over! I also knew when I bought this ticket that it may be the last time I see him in such an intimate venue. BB has a capacity under 600. Irving is around 1,025. Beacon 2,800. After Hozier hits the feastivals this summer, he's definitely going to need larger venues, and as happy as I am for that success for him, I will miss seeing him in such intimate venues.
Hozier brought the house down!!!! He totally rocked it out!!!
I see about 30-50 live shows a year, and this show was seriously one of the best I have ever seen. To see George Ezra and Hozier on the same bill was phenomenal. Ezra played for only 30 minutes but his impact on the audience was palpable. He is a tremendous talent and is about to take this world by storm. Hozier was impeccable. A talent like this does not come around very often. I have seen him in smaller venues and I feared a lack of intimacy in a venue this big, but it was not so. He reached out, grabbed the audience by the neck, pulled us in, and never let us go. The drums on this tour kicked it up a notch. And the light show was perfect.: tasteful, not overbearing. A true artist, Hozier is a must see.
Absolutely unreal show! Venue was perfect, good bar service, and of course Hozier was incredible. Can't wait for a new album to see him live again!!
The show was AMAZING!!! The signer have a really great voice and we see how much he love hos music!! An unforgettable show!
He's pure raw talent ... An absolute treat to listen to. The venue is beautiful but the area we were seated in was horrible. We couldn't see much. To make matters worse, the girls in front of us decided to stand throughout the entire show blocking everyone's view further. After a number of requests they wouldn't budge, and Massey hall staff were no help. So, although he has a great voice, I may as well been listening to a live radio broadcast. Cause we didn't see much of the show.
Such a great artist and performance. I would definitely see him again.
Hozier and his band sound fantastic live. He seems genuinely grateful for the crowd's positive reception. He intros a few songs with a short story and keeps the show at a good pace.
Hozier is unbelievably talented, wise with musical composition beyond his young 24 years. He brought that talent to Columbus in full force, along with a band full of more than competent musicians. The sound mix was incredible, some of the best I've ever heard... the 90 minute set flew by. Do not miss any chance to see Hozier, especially in these smaller venues. I've been to hundreds of shows, and this one was unforgettable.
Hozier's concert in Columbus was perfect. He is even better live than he is on the album. I couldn't have had a better time!
God it's been 3 days and I still can't stop thinking about it. It was truly magical.
Hozier was unreal. His voice is so soulful and sounds amazing live. The sound from the whole band was seriously awesome. I can't wait to see Hozier again!!
