    Good People is GOOD

by Grogs on 10/23/12HOTTIX - Chicago

This play was better than I could have expected. It explores 4 people from a poor neighbor who stay the same, and one who becomes a doctor and has to fight the shadow of his past.

THE STRANGE UNDOING OF PRUDENCIA HART

by ShadowNP on 10/22/12HOTTIX - Chicago

Not quite what you expect at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater but, oh my goodness, was it fun! If you're expecting a serious night, this isn't your play. The acting was wonderful - especially the devil. The music cheered me after a very tough week. Being right in the middle of the play as the actors spun around (and on your table) was entertainment at its best. As long as you don’t mind a little raunchiness (it’s set in a bar for goodness sake) I recommend it!

    A Memorable Theatrical Event

by Berthajoy on 10/22/12HOTTIX - Chicago

The Broadway Armory was completely filled the night I attended and the crowd seemed mesmerized for the entire 2-hour show (without intermission). Ten extremely talented actors played various roles, sang, danced, tumbled, and marched their way through this depiction of the Scottish Black Watch Regiment, focusing on their role in Iraq. Be prepared: the bleacher seats are extremely uncomfortable, sight lines are poor, Scottish dialect is often unintelligible, the language is foul and parking is horrible.

    Frankenstein... A Classic

by Daorig on 10/22/12HOTTIX - Chicago

We had a great time. The acting was superb. The only complaint would be the venue. A few of the spectators couldn't keep still and the seating was quite loud and squeaky... a bit distracting at times.

    44 Plays for 44 Presidents

    by pint0joe on 10/22/12HOTTIX - Chicago

Wonderful review of the presidents, a lot of fun and some very sweet moments. Always love how the Neo-Futurists interact with and engage the audience.

    thoroughly enjoyable!

    by duzth8r on 10/22/12HOTTIX - Chicago

Everything about this show was thoroughly enjoyable. The intimate space lends a feeling of being part of the fun. The cast is very strong and allowed to show their chops on many levels. You will be dancing in the aisles!!!

Wonderfully realistic family dynamics, particularly around dinner table. Great acting. Small venue.

    Woody Sez was memorable !

    by 00HPPY on 10/21/12HOTTIX - Chicago

The cast of four musician-actors-actresses was outstanding. The show was pure enjoyment for 90 minutes. If you like folk music and get a chance to see this show in the future don't pass up the opportunity.

Energetic, talented young cast. Excellent direction and choreography in a small, tight venue. Musicians (especially the keyboard) were also excellent and added to the performance.

Great show, great acting, fun story!

    by Caty1234 on 10/16/12HOTTIX - Chicago

I've gone to Theater Hikes in October for the past four years, and this show was hands down my favorite (and I can speak highly of all the shows I've seen)! It was funny, perfect for Halloween and all ages. The acting was great, the story was so much fun, and the characters were fun too. I was laughing out loud a few during the play. It was raining really hard the day I saw it and there was a tornado warning in the area, so the had to move the play inside the education center. I was a little worried that seeing it inside would be boring and uncomfortable (they provided decent wooden chairs), but the play was so good that I didn't mind it at all. The cast and crew did such a good job making the most of the situation.

    FUN FOR ALL

by GGOLFER on 10/16/12HOTTIX - Chicago

This play was supposed to to be an outdoor event but due to frightful whether the play went on in an indoor facility, putting an added pressure on the actors, who did a great job in a fun play.

The size of the venue in no way defines the magnitude of the entertainment provide. Cast is simply great, musicians fabulous. Heartily recommended for all.

Spent a great evening out in the cozy No Exit Cafe to see Smokey's Joe Cafe. Great cast and memorable songs of the 50's and 60's. A real trip down memory lane

    Go see this show!

by FutureGarrison on 10/9/12HOTTIX - Chicago

I was hesitant about traveling out to DesPlaines but am so glad I made the extra effort! What a treat! It highlighted great up and coming talent and after a week since I saw the show the songs are still in my head. I wish I had time to see it a second time. Highly recommend.
