Wonderful venue but the magic was missing

by LittlestSoul on 7/30/18NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

I’ve seen all these bands numerous times and every time loved the the experience but this time it felt like everyone was going through the motions. I have to give Rick Derringer credit because he did put on a great show

If you know the music don't miss The Hippiefest!

by JAYRING on 7/27/18Bergen PAC - Englewood

GREAT SHOW. If you know the music you should GO! First up was Joey Molland of Badfinger.sounded and played great. The tempo picked up with Mitch Ryder's set. Mitch can really sing and what's even more important is he can still SCREAM. Excellent set. Rick Derringer. Can't say enough about him. Not a household name but he should be. He was the lead singer and lead guitarist for The McCoys of Hang On Sloppy fame. He graduated to playing with Johnny and Edgar Winter. He's a MONSTER guitarist and is worth the price of admission alone. He played lead for the first 3 bands including his own 3 piece rock band and blew the doors off the PAC. Last but not least The Vanilla Fudge. Great musicians and always incredible. Vinnie Appice on drums cannot be beat.

Less vendors than in past years. Outside band was very entertaining.Evening concert left much to be desired. Music was inconsistently loud for each group. The only group where the music was set right was the 1910 Fruit gum Co.Left the concert early....

    Terrible concert

by DC49 on 6/20/18The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach

Bought tickets months ago anticipating seeing Peter Rivera, assuming he was the headliner. Peter came out early, was FANTASTIC as I expected him to be, but played for about 10 minutes and was gone. We assumed that was a "warm up" and that he would return. Not to be. The rest of the concert consisted of old, second rate bands like the 1910 Fruitgum Company, Paul Revere's Raiders (?), The Grass Roots and The Cyrkle. It seems the timing was off, performers seemed a bit angry with the crew. other than the 10 minutes of Peter Rivera, worst concert I ever attended..

    Loved the Raiders!

by TammyK2 on 6/19/18The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach

All the shows were good, but Paul Reveres Raiders were amazing. I felt they were the best there. Cyrkle was terrible. The lead singers voice wasn't good. Off Key. I liked Peter Rivera from Rare Earth. He was pretty good with his drumming and singing. Having the Raiders play with him was very special. Didn't like that the Grass Roots played so long. We ended up leaving the show early, because I didn't know most of the songs. I had seen them many times when Rob Grill was alive, but I felt this time was boring. Mark sings okay, but just long..

    GRRREEEEAAAATTTT Show!!!!

by Luckyballs on 6/19/18The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach

Love the Peabody! Cirquel"s first show in 50 years was good. Peter Rivera's show was out of this world. He had the place rocking. At first I was afraid I wouldn't like him but his drum playing and singing was fantastic. His show was worth the money by itself. 1910 Fruitgum Co. was good but they only sang a few songs. The Raiders as always did a good show. Last but not least The Grass Roots was a show in itself. Great songs and many of them ,along with great entertainment. Love the Hippyfest, keep the bands coming. Please start getting new groups instead of the same old ones. This was a nice new mix, but the show coming in the spring has groups that we have seen a few times. What happened to Flo and Eddie and the Happy Together Tour? We miss them. Thanks for bringing the old groups back to Daytona, we love them.

Finally saw some favorite bands (sort of) from 60s

by NighthawkNWA on 6/19/18The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach

Sure, The Grass Roots only had one original member but it was the leader, and The Raiders brought back Paul Revere's son, but the songs were right on, even The Raiders choreography was evocative of "Where the Action Is." My mother and I would tape (reel to reel!) Paul Revere and The Raiders, as well as The Monkees, and mail them to my father and uncle in Viet Nam. So, this show had a lot of extra meaning for me ....

The concert took me back to high school

by rickkris on 6/19/18The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach

I thoroughly enjoyed the concert and each band sounded great although it wasn't as good as they did back in the 60's. It was great hearing some of the songs of my teen years especially the ones that I had forgotten. I would definitely do this again.

    Terrible show to be honest

by flnvaz on 6/19/18The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach

My wife and I are younger, in my 30's but we have always loved Hippie events and festivals but this was a concert of groups who never really made it back in the day of the beetles and you can clearly see why. The main singer was 75 years old and the group was terrible. The spent most of their time talking about all the other celebrities they idolized growing up and met and the show got so bad we left about 30 minutes in. The venue of people was literally a large group of mentally handicapped folks who seriously struggled just to get their liquor and take a seat. Most of the show we had people standing in front of us trying to get to their exact seat number in a stadium that is so cramped it leaves no elbow room for one person let alone two strangers. Even more frustrating is that there was at least a 3rd of the seats empty everyone, entire rows of empty seats all around us so why the venue staff and people kept cramming us all together and interrupting everyone's view of the show they could easily have sat anywhere, and the ticket prices with Tax were crazy for that event, almost $65 per person, I have been too big name conceters and paid about that only to see washed up people who never made it when they were young and I can see why.

    A home run again

by Shouldhavebeenthere on 6/19/18The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach

Raiders, Rare Earth, Grass Roots were the best. I could listened more and more and more. 1910 Fruit Gum Co. was not a favorite of mine in their day. The presentation was good and accurate of them.

by Grizz1957 on 6/19/18The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach

Loved the concert ! All the bands brought back memories of the late 60’s and early 70’s ! Can’t wait till February when there’s a new 60’s concert coming to town. Loved it.

    Hippie Fest 2018

by Dpcva on 6/19/18The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach

I may have thought that the fest would have had better songs from the hippie era, ie. folk type music. Boy was I wrong. One group performed "hard rock" and my husband had to plug his ears. If we had wanted hard rock, we'd have gone to a Metalica concert. The mix was not correct either as it was difficult to hear the words over the guitars and drums. All-in-all, the concert was a disappointment. We won't be going to any more. The only highlight was the Cyrcle singing "Red Rubber Ball". We'd love a more refined folk concert or country music. We did go to an oldies concert at the Peabody several years ago, and I don't remember it being as loud as this one was. Please more music like Peter Paul and Mary, Paul Williams, Joan Biaz, etc. Sorry, but this concert for us was a total disappointment.

    Totally Awesome!

by HippieHoney on 6/19/18The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach

This was our first Hippiefest, and we had an amazing time! Everyone was dressed up, the booths/vendors, the live band - it was perfect! The concerts from all the bands at the Peabody was just as awesome, The Grass Roots, Paul Revere and the Raiders and so much more! We can't wait for next year!
