About

Brilliantly innovative, heartbreaking, and wickedly funny, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH is the landmark American musical by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask that is “groundbreaking and undoubtedly ahead of its time” (Entertainment Weekly). This genre-bending, fourth-wall-smashing musical sensation, with a pulsing score and electrifying performances, tells the story of one of the most unique characters to ever hit the stage.

Directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening) and winner of four 2014 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH played to record-breaking sell-out crowds on Broadway and promises to take the country by storm with what Time Magazine proclaims is “the most exciting rock score written for the theatre since, oh, ever!”

Must say opening night Nov. 2nd was good, not great, but this past Saturday, Nov. 5 was absolutely positively AMAZING!!! The kinks were worked out. Sound was way off opening night but by Saturday it was fixed! Actors gave 100% plus for both performances! MUST SEE SHOW!!! All time favorite!

    Excellent Performance!

by Gabotj on 11/8/16Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

It is a very good play, Darren Criss made an excellent performance, I really recommend this event. On the seats, it is ok to sit here, the view is very good, but there is a lot of interaction between the actors and people in the front row so I would recommend to get those instead.

    Wonderful performance and unforgettable music!

by ala64305 on 11/8/16Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Hedwig and The Angry Inch was an amazing experience. Darren Criss and Lena Hall are both extremely talented and that is only amplified in their performances. One thing I do have to say is that Criss needs to work on enunciation while singing the songs; I am going to assume that he is so invested in the role that it slipped his mind. To make up for that, go home after the show and listen to the soundtrack, because you won't be forgetting the music any time soon.

    Hedwig was epic!

by Farrah2 on 11/8/16Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

The music was phenomenal and the entire cast were exceptionally good! I highly recommend everyone going to see Hedwig. The only negative is that its not recommended for children, it was a little racy. Also the lights that flashed in the audience at the end in our eyes were way too much and felt annoying after a while. They were like strobe lights flashing for way too long at us. I was afraid someone was going to have a seizure.

IT. WAS. AWESOME. Everyone gave 110% and Criss was amazing. No adjectives suffice. He was astoundingly good. Go see it!

Just as good on the road as it was in NY

by Carpinteria on 11/7/16Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

This was the third time I've seen this show. The other two were in NY, and all THREE productions were thrilling. The Pantages is a barn, and "touring" crowds are different from ones (more tame and sedate) on Broadway or the West end. However, this is a fantastic production, sure to offend, and sure to please. Great music, superbly sung and played. The staging is great, and the touring production has lost very little from the original.

Criss is perfection and Hall is a rockstar

by Garnet5878 on 11/7/16Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Darren Criss kills it in this role every time and Lena Hall is a perfect compliment to him. A not-to-miss performance from both powerhouses.

    Excellent production

by Gabby92399 on 11/7/16Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Took my daughter to see Hedwig. We are both fans of the music and this production didn't disappoint! The music, staging, effects and performance were outstanding. I was happy to see it touring on the west coast. I would definitely recommend it. If you're not familiar with the story line I would suggest researching it before attending as it's not your traditional play.

    Blown away

by alysnicole14 on 11/7/16Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

It was a wonderful adaptation of the film and Darren Criss was magnificent! There is honestly nothing he can't do! The whole show, I actually forgot it was him! He took Hedwig and brought a new and refreshing take on her! I would definitely recommend and see it again with Darren as the lead!

    Awful!

by Bchandle on 11/7/16Pantaages - Hollywood

I love the Pantages and go to every show possible. Although the cast is very talented, not enough music for my taste. Very long and boring dialogue. I saw people walking out and I would have walked out if I had driven. Thank goodness I did not buy expensive seats.

    Darren Criss was Amazing

by Momlom on 11/6/16Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Great show. Really enjoyed it and Darren Criss made this his role. Cannot imagine someone else as Hedwig. My only issue was with the lighting. The strobes and bright lights were a little much for the this theater.

Hedwig will rip your heart out

by Tipper22 on 11/6/16Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Exactly what I said in the title. I'll forever be thankful for this show. It has everything , Funny parts, sad and emotional parts, hurt, pain, raw passion and mindblowing songs. As soon as Hedwig hits the stage you're captured in her story and you cannot escape. It's strong, it's raw, it's an emotional roller coaster. The show itself is wonderful and Darren Criss makes everything even better. His energy is compelling and unstoppable. He's a bomb of energy, talent and emotions that explodes on stage and hits you and you can't and don't want to look away. he has the whole audience in his hands. His voice and his moves will change you're life. Go. Let yourself be led by Hedwig in her wicked little story.

    Disappointing and quickly forgetable...

by MaxAllen on 11/6/16Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Music was too loud and hard to understand. No set changes or production values. Darren Criss has a good voice and was wasted in this production. He made a bad decision accepting the lead in this musical. I couldn't wait for it to end and would have walked out had I not been with three other friends.

    Bawdy and Naughty, but Priceless!

by Carpinteria on 11/6/16Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Having seen Hedwig twice on Broadway (and talked to others who've seen this production), I was very much looking forward to seeing the production again, even if it meant a pilgrimage to the soulless barn that calls itself the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. The production transitions well from the NY stage and audiences frequently found there to the gymnasium-like feel of most arena-sized houses with "solid, church-going citizens" in the seats. This show is a bit "over the top," and though the properly-dressed nice folks in the crowd didn't embrace it, the L.A. didn't seem to mind the profanity, raunchy sexual references, and more. Hedwig is done quite well, and I could easily see it a few more times.
