Brilliantly innovative, heartbreaking, and wickedly funny, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH is the landmark musical by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask that is “groundbreaking and ahead of its time” (Entertainment Weekly). This genre-bending, fourth-wall-smashing musical sensation, with a pulsing score and electrifying performances, tells the story of one of the most unique characters to ever hit the stage. It’s about finding your other half; it’s the story of the origin of love.
Directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening, American Idiot) and starring Tony and Olivier Award-nominee Euan Morton, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH is the winner of four 2014 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival. It played to record-breaking sell-out crowds on Broadway and promises to take Chicago by storm with what Rolling Stone proclaims is “the best rock musical ever!”
May be inappropriate for children 12 and under. (Hedwig and the Angry Inch is recommended for mature audiences – for strong language and adult themes.)

I really liked this show. I didn't know much about Hedwig but it really lived up to the expectations I had of it.
It was not funny at all and too much lighting was really uncomfortable. Music was OK.
What an energetic show! So glad I was able to get such great seats!
The music in this show was fun, but this show was just not our cup of tea. We enjoyed Kinky Boots so much more.
Very entertaining production. I did not know what to expect, but was I was amazed by the high level of energy. Performances were spectacular!!!
This was the first show I have seen that I was truly disappointed in. First of all either something was not good with the sound system.-- the beginning number was totally unintelligible. I have excellent hearing and so does my daughter and neither of us could understand one word of the song. The band was very loud, but the singer did have a mic. A friend a few rows in front of us said the same thing. A few times during the show, there were other songs(without the loud band playing) that were kind of "swallowed" also. I have been to many shows at the Oriental Theatre and never had this experience. My daughter and I, as well as the friend sitting elsewhere were also disappointed in the show as a whole...quote my daughter, "How much did I pay for this?" I knew what the story was about, but didn't feel this performance got the essence of it. The 2 leads are definitely talented actors, but we all just felt that something was missing, as well as the poor sound system.
