    One word... AMAZING

by Mora222k on 3/27/18Lyric Theatre - New York

This show was amazing! It’s stayed true to the book/play that was published over a year ago and was filled with magic allusion and suspense. I would recommend this show to a Harry Potter fan or someone that just wants to see a great show.

The Cursed Child is more about Parenting.

by 20yrfan on 3/27/18Lyric Theatre - New York

As someone who lost his parents at an early age I am glad I took my 17 year old son to the play. We did both shows in one day (Saturday). I recommend that...and I recommend that older children will get more out of the play than those just now discovering the Potter series and movies. The content is very mature on an emotional level. Harry is a Dad now, and shares the angst that all of us should have at some point. I won't spoil the show by alluding to events you will see, but the special effects are unique. I was on the aisle in Orchestra, but will see the show again in the first row of the balcony. The movies became ever more serious and "dark". The play continues in this vane. Adults who are not emotionally vested in the prior series will find much to enjoy and will be able to relate to the complex characters. I was the Dad who took the neighborhood kids to the midnight book releases, but revisiting much loved characters in the Play was a rewarding experience that I recommend.

    Cant say enough

by RickNJ on 3/27/18Lyric Theatre - New York

Show was a class act. Every detail was perfect. The theater decor and the staff were top notch. The story was well told. Acting was superb. The 5 hour show non stop action and surprises. If tickets were not so hard to come by, I would go again.

    Cursed Child was Beyond Amazing!!!

If you love Harry Potter, even if you never read any of the books or saw the movies, go to these shows. We were on the edge of our seats the whole time.

    The magic is still there!

by PamBaldessini on 3/27/18Lyric Theatre - New York

The play was amazing like all the Harry Potter series. As a die hard fan with a Deathly Hallows tattoo it is hard for me not to fall in love with anything that is part of the Harry Potter world. I was afraid that the play was going to be not as magical as the movie or the parks in Orlando, but I was wrong. It was funny and magical, but I also shed a tear or two because I loved every part of it. The only disappointment is that the actors that played Harry and Hermione didn’t come out after the play and we had a very long line of people waiting for autographs. Everyone else came out and said they had a great time on the first day of the two parts marathon. I really want to take my mom to see it in December and relive everything :)

    Magical

by Pferra01 on 3/27/18Lyric Theatre - New York

Going into this show, you knew it would be magical but to what extent? You can only show so much and do so much within Broadway. But this cast and crew did it. When you walk in, every staff was welcoming and nice and added to the excitement. Then the show starts and you’re floored. The acting is incredible, especially Scorpius Malfoy and Hermionie. The special effects with the time turner was amazing, I’m still wondering how that happened. With the Polyjuice potion, I wanted to see how they would do this and even with the dementors...omg. This show lived and surpassed every expectaction and I’m in love with it. If I can see this show every week, I would. There’s so much beauty in the acting, the sets, the dancing and everything that it takes you out of the nonsense of everyday life and allows you to live a day as a wizard or witch. Great job to the cast and an amazing job to the phenomenal crew.

Magical performance by a passionate cast. Scorpius was standout. The optics of bringing the wizard world to life was incredible. Well done.

    Truly magical

by KHilt on 3/27/18Lyric Theatre - New York

The story has some holes (not quite up to the standard of the other HP books) but the stage effects more than made up for it. They did an amazing job with the set. It definitely felt magical.

    Magical

by KathrynOP on 3/27/18Lyric Theatre - New York

This play fit perfectly into the Harry Potter world, bringing the magic to life right on stage! It was a dream come true to watch it. The actors portrayed the characters that we’ve all come to know and love so very well. And their children were an excellent addition to the story. I highly recommend! Simply amazing!!

HP not perfect but still great

by Kthutch121 on 3/27/18Lyric Theatre - New York

Lyric theatre is fine. The show itself is made by the technology and lighting. The script is good but standing alone it had issues. I’d still go see it if you’re a HP fan

Special effects were amazing. A little too much dialogue at times but if you love Harry Potter you will love the show.

Well done and thoroughly enjoyable if one is a Harry Potter fan......if not, there were portions where you would have no clue what was going on. Glad we read the play before going.

    The cursed child was brilliant!

by eg1983 on 3/26/18Lyric Theatre - New York

I took my 8 year old daughter, a true Harry Potter fan, and it was everything we thought it would be and more! We were curious how they would perform magic during the show and it was amazing! Two nights were the perfect amount of time to truly show the brilliance of this play!
