Happy Together Tour in Concert

When the Happy Together Tour rolls into town, a beautiful kind of magic trick occurs. For just a little while, the cares of the current world seem somehow to melt away as the sound of a free, colorful era long gone rises up in the air once more. It gives us all a glimpse of what it was like to live in that golden moment of the 1960s, when the glorious vocal harmonies of The Turtles and their contemporaries came bursting out of just about every radio and jukebox in America.

When Turtles frontmen Flo & Eddie — and the rest of their '60s pop/rock compatriots on the bill — step up to the microphone, the years melt away as the hits of the Aquarian Age come back around. It's enough to make even the most jaded listener believe in the possibilities of flower power again, for at least as long as the concert lasts.

Happy Together Tour Background

Few bands embody the spirit of classic '60s pop like The Turtles, fronted by the legendary Flo & Eddie, aka Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan. A quintessential exponent of the summery-sounding, harmony-heavy "sunshine pop" coming out of the West Coast in the mid-to-late '60s, The Turtles stamped their name on pop/rock history forevermore with indelible hits like "She'd Rather Be With Me," "You Showed Me," "Elenore," and, of course, the immortal "Happy Together."

In 1984, Flo & Eddie mounted the first Happy Together tour, bringing the sounds of the '60s to a new era on a bill with The Association and other like-minded peers. Over the years, a lofty list of '60s heroes have joined The Turtles on the tour, including The Cowsills, The Buckinghams, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night, and The Classics IV, giving contemporary audiences a taste of that old-school magic.

We travel from Indiana to see this show and each time has been wonderful! These are the groups singing songs we grew up hearing but can see them now. We'll keep coming as long as they keep performing!

    Happy Together 2023

    by Old soul on 8/27/23

What a wonderful show! For those who love the oldies, this is a fun show. All of the acts brought back memories for everyone inside the venue. This show is definitely made for a smaller venue because the audience loves to interact with the performers. The real highlight of this show was the set sung by Little Anthony. Someone in the audience shouted "bring him back"after he left the stage. And the Vogues never disappoint. It was a wonderful evening, and we were all Happy Together!

    No Puckett

    by Popo on 8/26/23

Great concert! It would be a 5 star if not for Gary Puckett. (I’m sorry, this is my era of music, but he sounds like the cowardly lion.) Little Anthony was a fantastic addition to the tour!

The "Happy Together Tour"in St. Louis

    by Gregg on 8/26/23

5 of our family attended the "Happy Together Tour"on Saturday August 19th at the Family Arena in St. Louis. As expected each of the 6 bands did their best to entertain the sold-out crowd. The Cowsills were first and did a great job with their 60s & early 70s hits. Then it was the Classics IV with their 20 minutes of songs. Then the Vogues who had 3 vocalists doing a great job in hitting the high notes and harmony that group was known for. Then Gary Puckett (minus the Union Gap)...he did a respectable job but just couldn't quite hit their songs high notes. Then came Little Anthony (who also lost the Imperials over the years...but he was the surprise highlight of the evening with his banter and his music. Finally the Turtles (whose band was great playing behind each of the previous artists). Unfortunately, their lead singer Howard Kaylan has not been performing on this tour due to health issues. So the left the original funny man Mark Volman and Howard's replacement Ron Dante formerly with the Archies to cover the many great songs of the Turtles. They did a wonderful job with that and then all the artists returned to the stage to sing small encores of their greatest hits. It was a fun evening that brought back a whole lot of musical memories! I would highly recommend seeing them again.

    WONDERFUL HAPPY TOGETHER TOUR

    by Charlie68 on 8/26/23

Loved the show. Really enjoyed the group of people who was there. Have seen several of them in other groups throughout the years and past music events. This was the first time that I had ever seen Little Anthony. Was really impressed with him It takes dedication from these artists to keeping it up for us to enjoy. There was songs they preformed that I had even forgotten they had done. Would like to see them do a little longer time on stage, but I understand trying to get it all done in a certain time frame. All in all I was GREAT. KEEP UP THE GREAT SHOWS I felt that the arena could have used more ushers to help people find their seats. We had very few (2) in our area. Also, I feel that the groups and the city of St Charles lost out on a lot of money due to the concert not having any merchandise of the groups to sell. I have seen the amount of items that has been sold at a lot of concerts. To me that would be an extra add on to being able to see such great groups of our days. Again, I really enjoyed the performance that they put on.

Great. Brought back memories all night long.

    by Vettes on 8/25/23

Groups like this pack the house. Nostalgia and memories cannot describe the great time spent listening to the old songs and music. More of these type performers should be brought to the stage. Thanks for bringing back the memories again.

    Fantastic Performance

    by Lew on 8/24/23

Having not been out socially for more than two years due to my wife's leukemia, this was special. I surprised her with our tickets. She was thrilled, especially with Little Anthony...her favorite. This is not to minimize the others....the Cowsills, the Vogues, the Turtles, and others. They were all GREAT!

    by JT on 8/24/23

A fun trip down memory lane or introduction to past genre's presented in a great engaging format. Appropriately named show "Happy Together"- no social or political message to deal with - just a relaxing evening of great music by a group of very talented musicians still enjoying performing. Enjoy!
