HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, HAMILTON has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre--a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.
With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow's acclaimed biography. It has won Tony®, Grammy®, and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.
Unless you like hip hop and rap don’t go. What a disappointment!
at first I couldn't understand why I was feeling uneasy. I started remembering all other broadway shows that I've seen in NY and in Florida. I remember enjoying it tremendously. However, this show and music and production didn't touch me at all. More over, I couldn't wait for it to finish and leave the theater. Very disappointed, wasted evening...
Great experience at the Hamilton show on December 10th. Only glitch was the traffic for the Winterfest boat parade ... made getting to the show a little difficult but it was worth it!
I was so glad I didn't miss a second of this show! My eyes were glued from open to close! The music, the choreography, the characters...all PHENOMENAL!! I would see it again and again!! Soooo good!!
...Not crazy about the play as I really do not consider a lot of the "songs" true music. It is very hip hop, R&B. This traveling cast version seemed very ghetto to me as if they played up the hip hop theme more than what I have seen before. We were in the orchestra area towards the back and could not hear a thing any actor said or sung. I ended up getting an audio device to help hear during the second act. The acoustics in the theatre (Broward Performing Arts) were very bad, which just added to a miserable experience.
Awesome cast, wonderful experience, and the staff at Broward Center for Performing Arts were also fantastic!
Hamilton has and always be a great story. This production at this theater (Broward Center) was a fantastic experience. I recommend this show to everyone who enjoys theater.
The parking charge was a big surprise given the cost of tickets. The show was great, ease of using the app was also an advantage
We are huge Hamilton fans. Our seats were perfect, and we had the Spirit Club level, highly recommended. The show itself was really good. They put a slight different spin on some of the music but it was still spot on. The actors threw a few extras in showing their own personalities. We enjoyed it so much and my daughter will forever remember this. Cheers to memories!
One of the best shows I've ever seen! AMAZING cast - incredible orchestra - great seats. A+ experience!
everything from start to finish was amazing. everyone at the theater was nice, our seats were awesome and the environment was awesome as well
I don't know what all the fuss was about. I went with a group of 5 other people and none of us enjoyed it. We were praying it would end. It was so hard to understand. Perhaps we were just sitting too far way. Half way through my eyes were fatigued and I was bored enough that the cold dark theater seemed perfect for a nap. I noticed a lot of napping in the balcony. I wish it would have lived up to the hype but it was severely lacking. I will say the conductor, who also played the piano while conducting was impressive! Beyond that... I've got nothing.
It was an excellent performance with a top cast—absolutely loved it!
At 70 I've got a little snow on top and while I accepted this was great for the younger generations, I didn't think it would work for me since my musical taste stopped at Marving Gaye and Stevie Wonder and the greats created in the cauldron of the revolutionary 60's. But I'm a history buff from way back so I went. Blew my mind, as we used to say back then. Everything from the music, the imagery, the symbolisms in the play, the talented actors, and the genius of the playwright was on display to be enjoyed at the surface level of the shear spectacle on the stage to the more profound issues of the human spirit with its failings of racism, egocentricity, and disloyalty, to the grandest virtues of forgiveness and love, to name a few. A soul stirring production that made even the over-priced tickets worth it. Absolutely!
Not that I had any doubts but, it was spectacular. Cast was phenomenal, Edred Utomi brought a beautiful performance to A.Ham and Carvens Lissaint’s as George Washington’s voice cannot be topped. Whole cast was brilliant.
Took our 13 year old granddaughter. Awesome way to teach history!
I loved the show!!! The actors and actresses did a wonderful job. I would definitely see the show again when they return to Fort Lauderdale, and I hope they return soon.
5 stars for show and cast! Zero stars for Neil Blaisdell Concert Hall. This cast was incredible! Washington had an amazing voice, but seemed to mumble a lot and was difficult to understand. Hamilton actor did an amazing job and the ladies’ voices just soared!! I’ve been to many shows at the Neil Blaisdell Concert Hall and this venue is terrible! Acoustics aren’t the best and I can never see because it does not have stadium seating or very good staggered seating. I sat on my bag and jacket for a boost and still couldn’t see over the guy in front of me. Had to watch the show craning around this dude’s head and only seeing about half the stage. Luckily nobody was sitting behind me. Hawaii needs a better concert hall!!
WOW! An incredible performance. Cast was exceptional. Definitely one of my favorite shows! Can’t wait to see it again.
I saw Hamilton at the Broward Center a few years ago, and for some reason we can't explain we feel that the first time was much better. We can't tell if it was the seats - we were seated closer the last time, or the audio setting was different, or maybe the cast was just better, but definitely we felt that it lacked something. I did have some trouble with the sound. It wasn't as vibrant as other times. It was difficult following the songs (and I know many of them by heart). In general we just didn't feel amazed as we did the first time. Still a great musical in general.
