About

HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now.  Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, HAMILTON has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre--a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.

With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow's acclaimed biography. It has won Tony®, Grammy®, and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.

    Awesome performance!

by Joe on 1/31/23BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

Singing and acting was great. I was hoping it would be close to as entertaining as the original cast. I wasn’t disappointed. Thoroughly enjoyed the show.

    Took my SHOT

by Theatre Fam on 1/31/23BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

Have been waiting on this to come to Birmingham to enjoy and it did not disappoint. Bought tickets for Saturday and going back this Wednesday. Great vocals, costumes, set, and choreography. Most reviews ask if you would see again. I guess I already answered.

A Must See...Over and Over Again!

by Bro. Brandon Alana, SM on 1/31/23Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

It was such a powerful performance - the music, the actors, the staging, the lights! I first saw Hamilton on Disney Plus which was mesmerizing, but seeing it live on stage just blew me away. In fact, I went to see it thrice during their tour here in Hawaii.

    Good

by JJ on 1/31/23BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

I would have preferred a smaller venue for the performance. The view from the upper deck was too far away to appreciate what I am sure were wonderful costumes. We also had difficulty hearing and understanding what the performers were saying/singing. We left at the intermission because of the difficulties in hearing/seeing.

    Wonderful performance!

by JS on 1/31/23BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

I saw the 2nd string in Chicago right after it closed on Broadway and this touring group was just as good. I loved every second of it.

by Healoha on 1/31/23Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

Took my 18 year old granddaughter for her first major stage production. We both loved it and learned lots about that period of time. Days later still humming fav tunes. Mahalo for student rates. Great to see lots of young people.

Hamilton was fabulous, the music, the rapping, the dance. It was not boring, it kept your interest . There was always something going happening every minute. It was a great way to learn and to refresh your history. I went with a group of friends and we all just loved it. Amazing show. Mahalo

    good, but not perfect

by Mike on 1/31/23Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

This show was a audiovisual spectacle! Funny, original and very well thought out. Alas, if you're going to tell the history of the founding fathers in rap form, then your cast needs to consist of performers who can rap well and enunciate their words clearly! This, sadly, was not the case on the night that we went. We had real problems understanding Lafayette/Jefferson for example, even though our seats were not far from the front. Other performers (such as George Washington or our eponymous hero, Hamilton) were much easier to understand.

    Such talent!

by Imafan on 1/30/23BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

My daughter and I had a great time seeing Hamilton at BJCC! The performers were really great, however the sound in the top tier where we were seated wasn’t loud enough. We saw Les Mis here several years ago, and the sound was much better then.

WOW, Hamilton is a wonderful show to see and experience~

by honu88 on 1/30/23Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

i knew i would have to really listen to the lyrics as i was not familiar with Alexander Hamilton. The singing was clear and beautiful. And the acting was robust and lively. I could feel the emotions as well come thru the words and singing. It is by far my favorite.

Great play! Only the sound had been better

by LizzieR on 1/29/23Citizens Bank Opera House - Boston

Play, acting, singing, costumes, score, choreography, all fabulous. Given that this play is entirely sung it was really a shame that the sound quality wasn't consistent for all performers and as a result, it was hard to enjoy the lyrics throughout the play. I thought perhaps it was a problem with my hearing but my friend said the same thing.

So nice had to see it twice

by KM on 1/29/23Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - Honolulu

I’m a huge fan of Hamilton. I first saw the play on Disney. Of course I had reasonable expectations and knew that it wasn’t going to be the original cast members. Even though the cast was made up of entirely different people, they did an awesome job with singing. They picked actors that closely matched the original actors from the Lin Manuel cast. The Hamilton actor “Deaundre Woods” would be the voice that is completely different and he did an amazing job. I preferred his singing or tone of voice as Hamilton over Lin. In my opinion, he had the best voice for certain song like “That Will Be Enough”. I felt his voice blends well with Aaron Burr character verse Lin-Manuel because he’s got more of as singer’s voice than Lin, much respect to Lin, I don’t feel like Lin Has much of a singers voice, but he does play Hamilton well because he IS “Hamilton” and not an actor playing Hamilton. I went to see this play twice one on the balcony and once at ground level closer to the front of you are a visual person balcony is better but the sound will be echoed, if your a sound person then go ground level as close to the stage as you can afford it’s super awesome
