About

HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now.  Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, HAMILTON has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre--a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.

With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow's acclaimed biography. It has won Tony®, Grammy®, and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.

This was our family’s first time seeing Hamilton live and we were not disappointed. The actors sang so beautifully and captivated the audience with their performances throughout the entire show. We absolutely loved every part of the show and will never forget the experience. We would recommend Hamilton to anyone looking for a great and memorable show.

    Fantastic

    by bswahlen on 7/12/23

I had the best time ever. I've seen the film version and love them both, but the theater was so much better, we could see all of the stage and all of the action. I actually prefer some of the touring actors performance's over the original cast. It's a wonderful play no matter how you see it.

From the cast to the stage, everything was amazing. The Schuyler sisters stole the show!

    A Good Road Game

    by TV Tom on 7/12/23

Of Course, the Plaza theater is a wonderful, 1930's fully restored movie house. The building enhances any experience. I've seen a lot of plays in NY. This road show ranks right up there. Hamilton is a ra[id fire, many words crammed into a sentence play. But the way these actors made it very easy to follow the most intricate detail. Would gladly see it again

    Meh

    by Akuma on 7/12/23

Honestly the actors didn't act with emotion, they just sang the songs. Movements in the dance weren't sharp nor clean. And to be honest it was just lack luster. I had tickets for a second showing, decided to sell them instead.

    From great to B-

    by nw on 7/12/23

Overall, the show was impressive, featuring top-notch music, stage design, lighting, and performances that truly captured the essence of a Broadway experience. However, the lengthy runtime, spanning over three hours of continuous singing and rapping, became a challenge and affected my overall enjoyment. A more concise presentation could have enhanced the impact of this otherwise engaging production.

    Plaza too hot/ squished

    by Crazy cat on 7/12/23

The El Paso Plaza venue must change the seating! I understand the seats are kept because these were the original seats but people back in those times were not over 6 feet tall or over 200 lbs! The seats are extremely uncomfortable and if you’re tall your legs are literally on the seat Infront of you! The show is fantastic but the venue at the plaza is terrible!!!! The A/C unit was terrible ! It was hot and muggy!!! I was not the only person who had these complaints, the crowd around me were also complaining!!! The ushers at the facility kept walking in front of people and talking out loud!! The ushers were very much a big distraction!!! Avoid the Plaza if possible!!!

The cast did an excellent job with the location and space our city provided for them. We loved every minute of it. The orchestra and personnel deserved the standing ovation received.

The entire cast and singing were amazing!

    by Kiarah on 7/11/23

You will be thoroughly entertained from beginning to end. The singing and dancing did not miss a beat, but Eliza, Angelica and George Washington were all phenomenal! I was saddened by the ending, but it was history and it ended the way it should have to stay true to form. Thank you for coming to El Paso, this is one play I wanted to see in New York, but they were sold out for months when we visited and never thought I would see it here As stated before - this was an amazing play with an amazing cast and would encourage anyone to go and see it - you will not be disappointed!

WOW! The energy of the entire production was incredible!

    by Quique on 7/11/23

I was overwhelmed by the energy and intensity of the entire production. I had worried that I would not be able to hear and follow the words. I was wrong! I saw children in attendance and worried. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the children in the audience were as captivated by the production as all the adults. Once the show started, it seemed all were holding their breath, focused on the characters' words and actions. And when the show ended, the applause was deafening and lasted a long time. We all seemed sorry to say goodby to those on stage. I have recommended the show to everyone I have seen since we attended the performance last Saturday night. I had hoped the production would come to El Paso, so when I learned it was coming, I made sure to get tickets. My wife and I both agreed that this play has to be one of the very best ever.

    Excellent

    by TxMom on 7/11/23

Excellent production! The actors made you feel connected with the characters much more than viewing the film version did. Burr and King George were the absolute best, though the entire cast was amazing! The theater was beautiful, inviting with a friendly and helpful staff.

    The Best

    by Grande on 7/11/23

Seats just ten rows from the stage made this experience tops. The staging, dancing, music, set, choral singing and each solo voice was terrific. Incredible even for an over 80 lady. I had every emotion watching and totally enjoying the whole show.
