About

HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now.  Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, HAMILTON has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre--a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.

With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow's acclaimed biography. It has won Tony®, Grammy®, and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.

    Underwhelmed

by Reviewer on 4/11/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

For starters, I had a superb seat - no complaints there. A couple of areas of the entire experience could use improvement. First, I was disappointed that Morales had a substitute, and while I am aware that this is not unusual and unpredictable for the attendee, I nevertheless would have loved to have been there on a different night. The second aspect, more problematic, is that the women's restrooms are quite inadequate for the crowd size. At the end of the 15 minute intermission, many women were still in line for the restroom; the second act got underway, and people were coming to their seats as the performance was in progress. Having people climb over seats as you are trying to watch the performance is not desirable.

    Exceeded our Expectations

by Mike S on 4/10/19Fisher Theatre - Detroit

My wife and I celebrated my 67th birthday with a matinee performance of Hamilton at the Fisher Theater on April 7, 2019. The entire experience exceeded our expectations. From the convenient parking, the beautiful venue, the free and quality headsets provided(I wear hearing aids), the souvenir drink cup with lid, and to the original and unique performance of Hamilton itself; everything was magically amazing. Never liked Rap but I do now. Truly; a once in a lifetime musical and historical phenomenon.

    Loved it

    by S. on 4/10/19Fisher Theatre - Detroit

Had very little idea of what to expect and just loved it. Husband wasn't super excited to go but once he went started telling everyone they should go- he was blown away. The music, the emotions, the stories within the story. Just so well done.

    Educational experience

by Jim Bob on 4/10/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

Excellent educational presentation of behind the scenes happenings which shaped the founding of our country. Alexander Hamilton doesn't get enough credit for all he did. I will admit that I was surprised to find out that George Washington was an African American. I thought Obombo was the first African American president!

    Excellent

by CMW on 4/10/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

The show was great. The music, singing, staging were all fabulous! Probably the best show I have seen. Fair Park Music Hall is a great venue, not a bad seat in the house. You will not be disappointed!

    Heavenly Hamilton Performanc

by Mambo on 4/10/19Fisher Theatre - Detroit

First time at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit and it was an extremely accomodating and well thought out venue. Comfortable seats, no obstructions and acoustics were outstanding. The performance was absolutely outstanding, the energy, the intensity of the performers , the choreography and the ensemble work was memorable. Also, the design of the stage and all the features were a perfect fit for the performance and the period of time. Great Venue, Great Performance ! Compliments to All

The kind of story your mind goes back to long after the curtain has closed.

    Good show

by Priddykim on 4/10/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

The hype is overrated. I really can't see why someone would pay the inflated after market price for this show. I guess you need to be a fan of rap music and younger. I did enjoy it but its not a show I would have paid more than regular ticket price for. This show is very quick moving and energetic. The songs are lively. The cast for this touring company are spot on for each of the characters and vocals are strong. It does have strong political implications that lean towards one side. I would recommend seeing it just dont pay to much.

    Great acting, acoustics were OK

by SPD on 4/10/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

Acting was amazing. I saw the show in NYC and I felt like the acting group in dallas had more flare and energy. Very enjoyable. The only change I have is the acoustics in Fair Park. It didn’t sound nearly as crisp and rich, and I think it has to do with the quality of the hall itself.

    Very good

It was difficult to understand some of the words in the songs as they were telling the story.

    Amazing from start to finish

by Donna S on 4/10/19Fisher Theatre - Detroit

Valet parking was $10 at the door. Our seats were in row O, and the view was great. I am short and I could see everything happening on stage. We had 3 understudies during our performance...Hamilton, Jefferson and George Washington...all were outstanding. It was the most amazing play that I have seen in my 55 years.

    Fabulous!

by Katie on 4/9/19Fisher Theatre - Detroit

One of the best! Unfortunately, I couldn't understand some of the dialogue, because it was lightning fast and in rap mode. Although, the 18 year old near me said he understood everything. It didn't matter, though, because you didn't lose the story. A stunning performance!

    Meh.

by BroCan_1 on 4/9/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

There's really nothing for me to say. It's just not for everyone. I feel it was hyped up, but didn't deliver. I wanted to leave at intermission because the show left much to be desired. It's great it has a large fan base, but glancing around, it was obvious the show definitely wasn't made for a certain demographic. When I see a mixed audience, then I can be sure it's a show that can capture anyone's attention. This was not the case and now I see why. All-in-all, I applaud Lin-Manuel for his genius history as told through rap approach, but it lacked something. Maybe it was the female opera-like singing? It didn't go with the rest of the show to me. Whatever it was, it just wasn't for my husband and I, but I'm happy it has a nice following.

    Amazing!!

by S. B. on 4/9/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

This show is beyond incredible. The artistry and modernization of a lesser known historic tale is exquisite. Listen to the soundtrack beforehand if you’re not familiar with the show since it goes very fast. Well worth your time!!
