About

HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now.  Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, HAMILTON has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre--a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.

With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow's acclaimed biography. It has won Tony®, Grammy®, and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.

    Great Show!

by philsberry on 5/8/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

Our group loves Hamilton, great story, great music. I was able to see this show in Chicago, but this show was better. The actors made it their own, breathed their own life into the show. We loved it.

    Ms

by Gail on 5/8/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

We couldn’t hear Hamilton very well. He didn’t project most of the time. The whole sound system wasn’t as clear as when we attended Hamilton in Chicago a few years ago. Other than that, it was a great high energy production.

    The audio engineering needs help

by Chris on 5/8/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

I had seen Hamilton before and loved it. This was my first time seeing it at the Orpheum in Minneapolis. The band was great, the dancing and performance was excellent. One big problem, however: the performers voices were too quiet! I could hardly hear them most of the time. I only understood 30-40% of the words they sang. The whole group I attended the show with felt the same, even while we had seats in different parts of the auditorium. I was pretty disappointed with the show. Turn up the performers microphones!!

    Overall a great show!

by Pvet on 5/8/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

Hamilton was an absolute joy to see! The music, the dancing the costumes… It was wonderful! My only issue was with the lead character unfortunately. The man who played Hamilton didn’t have any excitement to him. The other characters nailed and exceeded expectations, but the lead character was a disappointment. You could barely hear him and he wasn’t up to the level of all the other actors. The overall play was still extremely enjoyable, but they seriously need to recast Hamilton!

    Late Arrivals

by K on 5/8/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Hamilton was awesome! However, we were able to see the stage for the first song. The next four songs we couldn't because throngs of people who were late were being seated. I'm not sure what the policy is, but it was very unfair for those of us who paid to see the entire show. It was the matinee on Thursday, so I don't know if that was the problem? Very disappointing.

Performance was great, but my seats were NOT

    by G. P. on 5/8/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

When I paid over $400 for 2 seats in the 4th row, I did not expect to only see half of the stage and be unable to see the person performing on several different occasions. I don't understand why these tickets did not come with an obstructed view warning.

    Was awesome

Play was awesome! Venue, the lines to the bathroom at intermission a problem!

    Absolutely Mind Blowing

by StephG on 5/8/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The Hamilton production does not just live up to its hype, it exceeds it by miles. Literally mind blowing. I really think this cast is better than the original.

    Hamilton matinee Indy

by Rachel on 5/7/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The show was great, the performance was incredible! The audience was meh. I have never been at an event where so many people came in late, I would estimate 10% of the audience arrived after the opening number. This was extremely disruptive for the audience that arrived on time. I don't know if this was because it was a matinee show or why so many people would be late. The number of people who can enter after the show has begun should be limited. Also reminder that a musical is not a sing along might be useful too. The show and the music was amazing, but the cast deserves better. Arrive on time to be respectful of the theater and patrons.

    Phenomenal Show...Need More Restrooms

by KELLI on 5/7/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Loved every aspect of the show, and the drinks/snacks were great. The only problem, especially if you are a woman, is there are not near enough bathrooms. You either leave before intermission to get in line, or arrive after the intermission is over. Either way, you're missing part of the show.

    ALMOST the best

by SKD on 5/7/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

The Music was not volume-controlled as it should have been. And the Seats in the Orpheum SUCK! INCREDIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE

    Great show - Horrible seating

by KJOZ on 5/7/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Hamilton on Broadway was a phenomenal show, enjoyed every act! The seating at Old National Center is horrendous. The seats in the balcony are right behind each other instead of staggered. A very old, very tall gentleman who could not sit still made my viewing experience awful. I heard the show but struggled to see anything and at prices over $100 not worth it. If you see a show at Murat Theater get front row seats or don’t go.

    Wonderful

by TM on 5/7/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

It was a top notch, professional, flawless performance. Seeing it live was 100x better than watching it on television. I noticed many more details then I have watching it on a small screen. Simply wonderful. Beautiful choreography, talented performers, and the performance was full of heart and energy. The venue: Pros: Beautiful, historic building with easy access to parking. We had great seats purchased through presale. Cons: Limited bathrooms, so we missed (ironically) the song What Did I Miss after intermission because we had to wait in line so long. Not enough seat cushions for younger audience members to be able to see. I felt like part of a herd of cattle walking shoulder to shoulder upon arriving, at intermission, and after, but staff were extremely helpful at keeping things moving.

    Awesome Experience

by Kennedy on 5/7/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

I'm not a fan of musicals, but my sister loves them. I bought us tickets for her birthday, and to my surprise, I loved the show as well. It draws you instantly. Very entertaining 👏.

Hamilton was great! Venue could do better.

by Terry on 5/7/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The musical was great! Old National Centre was disappointing. Tons of late arrivals were allowed to come in and look for their seats during the opening two songs. Several rude guests with no consideration for others.

    So, so good!

by Bev on 5/7/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

Amazing vocal talent. Superb choreography and dancers. We did our homework before we came. We pulled up the synopsis and all the words to each song. Found the screening on Disney Plus and stopped it after every song so we could read that part of the synopsis and get the next song lyrics pulled up. For my group, all in our 70’s, we were able to follow along pretty well on the day of the performance. I am a theater buff and I have seen many different productions and this one is right up there at the top! Thank you so much for bringing it on the road.

Great talent but couldn’t understand words

by Kzmom on 5/7/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

This is a great production-tremendous talent with several from the original Bridal production. But works come so fast in this play. It was very hard to understand them, sometimes due to low volume, sometimes because so much was going on. Others around me were also struggling. I’ll watch it again on Disney+ with subtitles. Next time I’ll use a caption app during the performance.

Glad I went, but don't need to go again

by Samom on 5/7/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

It was hard to hear and understand the actors. Seat spacing for knees are too close. Hard to see stage if anyone sitting in front of you is taller than 5' 4".
