HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, HAMILTON has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre--a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.
With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow's acclaimed biography. It has won Tony®, Grammy®, and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.
Hamilton was amazing. I wasn’t sure I could love it more than the original but I did. Fantastic!
Funnier than previous performances I've seen without distracting from the more serious and heart wrenching parts. Overall, an engaging performance.
The cast on 4/25/23 did absolutely amazing! To be honest I enjoyed watching the Hamilton cast on tour so much more than the original Hamilton cast!
Had bought the tickets on presale 4 months prior and had eagerly been waiting ever since. They certainly did not disappoint, excellent cast and they crowd was just as fun and excited. My only complaint would be the hat at times the orchestra was a little too loud and drowned out some of the words the characters were singing. If I didn’t already know most of the songs I would have found it very frustrating.
I arrived approximately 10 minutes early to find the lines were extremely long.I didn't expect this. I almost missed the opening act.I will not let that happen again if ever go to another off Broadway show @@ this location. The play was OUTSTANDING! My favorite character was Thomas Jefferson played by Jared Howelton. You nailed that role.
I wasn't sure what to expect with not having the original cast, but I was impressed. The cast was even the understudy group for the most part which further impressed me. Great musical and would highly recommend to anyone who likes history and rap.
What a great night! The show is staged so cleverly, costumes stunning, performers amazing!! Show goers should know some history about Hamilton and his cohorts as well as the political climate of this time period going into this show to get many of the nuances of the story being told. With a little research every patron will love the entire event! It is an EVENT!!
The costuming and set were great. The supporting cast as well as the main actors were likewise great. The issue my wife and I had was that the primary dialogue was primarily in "rapper style". I think I could understand 15-20% of the dialogue that was done in this method. For me, it created more stress than enjoyment to follow the dialogue, so we got up and left. I have never walked out on a play performance before especially while on a date night with my wife. Sorry, but I give it a thumbs down because of that.
i’ve been waiting to see hamilton since middle school and it did not disappoint. the whole cast was amazing and i got goosebumps every time the whole company sang. the ending was very emotional and they did such a good job. i highly recommend seeing this show!

The cast and crew of Hamilton put on a great show. The audio was clear, the lighting was excellent and the performers did an awesome job. The seats themselves were awful. There was no room to move your feet. Thankfully there was in intermission so you could stretch the legs. I was in Row F of balcony 6- and there were warning of limited leg room on other balcony seats but not these. The lines to get in were also really long. I'm not sure why it takes so long to get into the theater, but it was a good 20 minutes.
With all of the "rave" about this production, and waiting a couple of years, I may have had too high of expectations. I didn't feel as connected to the characters as I typically do. The artists were talented but I wasn't drawn in. The seating was very tight and hard to feel comfortable viewing where we were seated.
Stellar show! Thomas Jefferson's actor was phenomenal! I love how he played with the height difference with Adams. His character development was just lovely. Angelia and Eliza were stunning. They are both so musically talented. I loved Peggy's attitude on stage. When she came out as Mariah Renolds - WOW! Seductive, Sultry - she nailed it! This was a great production!
We sprang for the high priced tickets (wished they were more reasonable) and had a real close-up of the stage and performance. The cast was terrific, hitting every fast-paced note and delivering the pathos and charm the show demands. We laughed and cried and felt pride in our country's origins blossom, even though the dirty laundry was exposed (good to know political shenanigan's and moral frailties are historic). Have greater respect for Hamilton and glad we're keeping him on the $20 bill!
My son and I have been waiting to see this for a while!!! Such a great show!! We sang along with the whole production!!
From purchasing the tickets all the way through the end of the show everything beat expectations. You can really appreciate the work that the cast and crew after seeing their incredible performance. Would definitely consider seeing it again.
5 stars just isn’t enough to give this production. From the talent to the costumes, choreography, lighting….simply everything, this show was nothing short of spectacular and sensational. Do yourself a favor and go!! If you hesitate because you think it’s Rap…I don’t think you will think of it like the Rap music you are thinking of. It much more reminds me of spoken word poetry to music. It’s amazing!!
The show was fantastic. The performers all did a wonderful job, and our seats, which were nearly all the way in the back, still offered a great view. The theatre was beautiful, and though I expected the seats to be a little cozy, they were a bit more cramped than I anticipated. The biggest negative was the drinks and snacks, which were, in my opinion, a bit ridiculous. But overall a good experience!
Disappointing show in Minneapolis - all male leads were played by stand-bys. It was like watching a college production. Women leads sounded as if they were actively practicing "vocal rest." Not worth the price of admission, and had we known we wouldn't be seeing the tour cast, we absolutely would not have paid what we did.
This was the fourth time i have seen Hamilton. Twice in London ( 10 out of 10) Once in Chicago ( 8 out of 10) and 4/22 in Minneapolis (4 out of 10). Lead for Hamilton was changed at intermission.- Beautiful voice but he looked like he was 12. He was way shorter than females and it looked like a high school production. Very poor sound in first several acts. VERY DISAAPOINTING PERFORMANCE!
