The music of half•alive breathes, evolves, grows, and changes alongside the lives of the Long Beach trio—Josh Taylor [vocals], Brett Kramer [drums], and J Tyler Johnson [bass]. half•alive officially came to life on the 2017 3 EP, which sparked a palpable buzz on the strength of “The Fall” and “Aawake At Night”. Over the course of the next year, they crafted what became their massive breakout “still feel.” which has been RIAA certified Gold, rocketed into the Top 10 at Alt Radio and has over 276 million worldwide streams to date. The video organically surpassed the 10 million mark within two months as the song garnered acclaim from NPR’s coveted “All Songs Considered” and more. The trio sold out their formal debut headlining tour in 2019 which included 2 sold out shows at The Fonda Theatre in LA. The tour also included stops at major music festivals including Lollapalooza, Outside Lands and Bumbershoot. Later that year the band made their late night television debut with a very special performance of “still feel.” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.Check out the incredible and unique performance HERE.
They also performed “Runaway” on The Late Late Show with James Corden. In August 2019, they released their debut album Now, Not Yet which has amassed over 472 million worldwide audio streams to date. half•alive was named YouTube’s Artist on the Rise and their live Vevo DSCVR performances of “RUNAWAY” and “arrow” showcase their incredible creative artistry. Last year, half•alive released their EP “in Florescence,” an audio and visual project that included orchestral arrangements of 4 tracks off their critically acclaimed debut album Now, Not Yet as well as videos for 3 of the 4 songs to accompany them.
Great performance. Loved the dancers music was great.
My Buddy and I had a great time at the half alive show. The music was fantastic and we very much enjoyed the unique performance and staging.
The band was awesome, the music quality was great, and the venue was cool!
Half alive had an amazing performance but they need more crowd Interaction like Thomas Headon
It was a great show, great venue, and easy to get tickets!
I haven't been to an insane number of concerts, but I've been to a wide range of venues and seen acts from all different genres and the Half Alive concert at Mercury Ballroom might just be better than all the concerts I've been to before. Mercury Ballroom is a pretty small venue, standing room only, but it's incredibly clean, the staff are kind and on top of things and made me and my partner feel safe enough to enjoy the concert without worry. As someone who isn't even 5 feet tall, I had previously avoided events at the Mercury Ballroom out of fear that I wouldn't even be able to see the stage. I'm happy to say I saw the whole concert with little to no issue! The stage is raised enough that it's pretty easy to see from a distance and with a Fast Lane ticket, I was able to get a spot in the third row of people away from the stage. There were also a ton of super sweet people around me to chat with before the concert started. As for the show itself, Half Alive put on a performance. I know that's technically what all concerts are, but I'm used to people getting up on stage, singing, and then walking back off stage. Half Alive started their concert with a curtain and performed the first two songs with really cool and artsy backlighting. They had a whole movable set that the lead singer was climbing on and jumping off of through the whole concert and they had a pair of INCREDIBLE dancers performing along with them. It was like seeing every single one of their music videos live on a stage in a room full of people just as excited to be there as you. On top of that, every single member of Half Alive and their awesome dancers looked so happy through the whole concert. I don't think I've ever seen a performer have that much visible joy on their face for that long. It made the experience even more special to see they were just as happy as the crowd screaming along to every lyric. I honestly don't have enough words to properly describe how great the concert was other than if they ever come back, I personally think it would be worth buying that extra VIP ticket just to tell them face to face how much fun I had at the last concert. I'll be thinking about that night for years. Also shout out to Thomas Headon, the opening act. I admit, I knew nothing about him prior to the concert, but he was incredibly nice and incredibly fun and was a perfect way to hype up the crowd. I hope he's having a great time touring with Half Alive.
The Half-Alive show and Thomas Headon was amazing! I loved the dance choreography and artistry oh Half-Alive. And Thomas Headon was charming, funny, and a great singer. I love the venue at Old National Centre for an up close personal experience with bands! Thank you!
My husband and I got to see our first Half Alive concert and we were absolutely blown away! The musicality, the dancing, and the singing were all phenomenal in every sense of the word. If Half Alive comes back to Cleveland we are there!
The performance itself was amazing, truly hope Half-Alive will return as it was one of my favorite performances of all time. There were two medical emergencies during the performance, one between the opener and main act and one in the beginning of the main act. The response time of the medics was really concerning, it took several minutes both times which is surprising to me. I hope this is an experience they can use to optimize their medic response time.
Half Alive was great and so was Thomas headen! Overall Great show, I would recommend them to friends!
The concert was insane the vibes were great and their preformance was awesome 1000/10 would recommend
Love the band. They played for 2 hours, dancers were fun to watch. Amazing what they did on such a small stage at St. Andrews. Not the best venue.
So much fun!!! So glad I bought VIP tickets! The people in the line were super nice! It was so easy getting back to my spot after I left to get merch (Thank you to the people holding my spot!) Everyone in the crowd was super nice and there was no pushing.
It was honestly amazing. From meeting people in line waiting, /o the energy of the crowd inside, and the spectacular performance. It was great. Though, I do wish they were performing closer to me / in Pittsburgh. And another small thing was I wish the time between Thomas Headon was shorter But, overall, it was still an amazing performance
I was super excited to see half.alive in person, and they seriously did not disappoint. They were so animated and energetic and they sounded amazing. The choreography, the lighting, the sound was all perfect. Would 100% recommend seeing them live for anyone that's a fan of their music. If they come back to my neck of the woods again, I will absolutely try and catch the next show. One of the best concerts I've ever had the pleasure of attending.
they are the most engaging performers. fun little dances and high energy the whole time. absolutely wonderful.
I really enjoyed the Half-Alive show, they are great performers and feel like geniune people. I felt they connected with the audience well, their music was excellently paired with stage dancing (like in their music videos!!) I’d highly recommend their show to anyone — love them!!
Half-Alive always present a memorable show. The choreography and sequence of events clearly has a ton of thought put into it and that is reflected onto the crowd every time. Captivating in the best way. Thomas Headon opened for them and gave a good show as well. Engaged with the crowd and made us laugh. When his act finished it felt like an eternity before Half-Alive came to the stage. My feet hurt before the main act even started, and I was more than ready to see the band I had paid to see. Would have liked a smaller window of time between the two acts. Would have liked to not have been consumed by the smell of alcohol thanks to the over- indulging gentlemen in front of me in the crowd. Overall good concert experience, Half-Alive was incredible.
The venue was a great place, the security was nice, and the band was amazing. Enjoyed my time there!
I had relatively high expectations for this concert. They were exceeded by leaps and bounds. Half alive has an insane stage presence and they know how to handle a crowd(I practically lost my voice in the first 20 minutes). All their members are crazy talented and I wouldn't hesitate to see them a second time!!
